o 3 things you learnedo 2 things you found interestingo 1 more thing you want to learn about

    6. CLOSURE: Students will share their journal entries with the class to guide a finaldiscussion

    F. Assessment: What will you use to measure student understanding?

Informal assessment through discussions, comparison chart and journal entry will be

    used to measure student understanding.

Explain how you will know students understand the concepts from the lesson.I will know students understand this concept when they can locate neighboring

countries to the United States and accurately recall characteristics of those regions incomparison to the United States.

    G. Reflection:1. Which part of the lesson do you think will be the easiest for you to teach?

I think the easiest part of this lesson to teach is going to be the location of the

United States on a map of North America. I believe that this should be familiar to

students and they will have an easy time grasping this concept.

    2. Which part will be most challenging for you to teach?I think the most challenging part of this lesson is going to be helping students realize

that people in other countries are similar but can be VERY different at the same

time. I am hoping that the diversity within a classroom can help with this concept.

    3. How will you follow up or extend this lesson? We will follow up with this lesson by talking about diversity and what people of other

countries are like and how they live their lives in a complete unit about different

    countries and diversity.

    4. What will you do for students who dont grasp the concepts?I will pull small groups and re-teach the lesson to students who dont understand the

concept. I will try to use real-life connections to help make this more concrete.

    5. Which part of the lesson, if any, do you think might need to change?I dont think any part of this lesson needs to be changed. There might need to be

more time for discussion about the differences in culture if students dont

understand but that can be used as an extension as well.

    forward and easy to write.
