Claire Schmitt Marquetta Strait Project Narrative Project Narrative Through this project I learned the value of planning cards. It helped me get my thoughts onto the paper and then be able to create those ideas and make them come out into the open. This is true because instead of just winging the project, as I would have without having made the planning cards, I was able to format things how I want them and have a visual idea of what I wanted to accomplish and how I saw the project. The planning cards pretty much laid out step-by-step of what I was going to accomplish at this point. The open-lab TA review also helped me because he told me what was wrong and what I should change within my project. He was able to give me good feedback as to what was working and what wasn’t. If I had not gone to the TA review, I would most likely not get a good enough grade to pass because I would not have known what I was doing wrong. To be honest, I learned to not procrastinate. This project takes up a lot of time. I need to learn to manage my time better with this class. But I did learn how to make a powerpoint presentation more interesting and more interactive. Before I thought there were just animations and transitions but now the students can take quizzes and link to other pages on the presentation etc. In other words, I learned how to make my presentation more interesting instead of having students just click through the presentation and be bored. Through this project, I found myself using a few ISTE standards. The first one that I used in my project was Facilitate and inspire student learning and creativity. This was used by engaging the students in exploring real world issues. Another one that I found myself using was Design and develop digital age learning experiences and assessments. Through this standard I was able to customize and personalize learning activities such as the quizzes in that presentation.

Project NarrativeThrough this project I learned the value of planning cards. It helped me get my thoughts

onto the paper and then be able to create those ideas and make them come out into the open.

But I did learn how to make a powerpoint presen-tation more interesting and more interactive. Before I thought there were just animations and transitions but now the students can take quizzes and link to other pages on the presentation etc. In other words, I learned how to make my presentation more interesting instead of having stu-dents just click through the presentation and be bored.

Through this project, I found myself using a few ISTE standards. The first one that I used in my project was Facilitate and inspire student learning and creativity. This was used by engag-ing the students in exploring real world issues. Another one that I found myself using was De-sign and develop digital age learning experiences and assessments. Through this standard I was able to customize and personalize learning activities such as the quizzes in that presentation.

This project has taught me how to be more engaged with the students and how to make my classroom presentations more interesting for the students.
