V isitors are encoura ged to participa te in a wide variety of exciti ng programs , special events, festivals and concerts at the beautiful Erie Canal Harbor site this summer. There is ample parking located in surface lots and ramps in and around HSBC Arena. The harbor can be accessed through entrances at the foot of Main Street and on Sc ott Street , or by wa y of the B uffalo & Erie County Naval and Militar y Park, located on the northweste rn edge of the harbor site. Boaters can visit the Erie Canal Harbor via the Buffalo River. The harbor currently boasts over 1,000 feet of berthing space, with the ability to accommodate over 50 vessels daily, and nearly 100 vessels for special events. On th e W ater : Buffalo Harbor Kayak Explore the Buffalo waterfront by renting a one or two-person kayak or canoe.Tours also offered along Buffalo’s historic waterways. Bicycle rentals are also available. Rentals available next to the small dockside building located in the center of the historic Central Wharf. It is intended for quiet waters and is a good beginners project.The demonstrati on will take place on the lawn adjacent to the Central Wharf from 9am to 4pm. WNY Adaptive Water Sports Expo On Saturday,August 28 th and Sunday,August 29 th visit the Erie Canal Harbor and learn about programs and resources to promote, facilitate and provide individuals with disabilities the means and facilities to participate in water sports. Includes boat rides for the disabled. The Expo will take place on the Central Wharf from 11am to 4pm and is free to the public. Fourth of July CelebrationOn Sunday, July 4th, 2010 celebrate our independence with an expanded fireworksdisplay and great local musical acts. The day will also include children’s activitiesand continuous entertainment.This event is free to the public. Food and beveragewill be available for purchase. No coolers,can, bottle or outside concessions willbe permitted within the event site. All personal bags, backpacks, wagons and bug-gies are subject to inspection. The event will take place from 4pm to 10pm.

Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra Ticketed Event

Your Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra is coming to the Erie Canal Harbor thissummer for a special one-night-only 75th Anniversary Celebration concert onFriday, July 23rd with Pops Conductor Matthew Kraemer leading the Orchestrain a program of popular songs and themes from 75 years of cinematic history- from 1935’s Captain Blood to Harry Potter and Star Wars . Tickets are just$15 before July 1st, $20 before July 18th and $25 during the week of the per-formance. Children under 12 are free with a paying adult. Buffalo & Erie County Naval & Military ParkThe Buffalo & Erie County Naval & Military Park is located on Commercial Street -adjacent to the Commercial Slip.The USS Little Rock, USS Croaker and USS TheSullivans are all part of the Naval Park experience.
