eCall – The new pan-European emergency call

What is eCall?

• An automatic or manual emergency call triggered by a vehicle incident via the emergency number 112

• A voice connection is established between vehicle occupants and PSAP operator

• First vehicle related data (MSD) is transmitted

• Transfer is completed in approximately 10 seconds

• According to the current EU directive eCall will start in 2018

The eCall Simulator is the powerful tool for validation and conformance testing of eCall components. It canbeconfiguredasaPSAPorIVSandprovidesupto76testcasesaccordingtoEN16454(Intelligenttransport systems - eSafety - eCall end to end conformance testing) and ETSI CTI Plugtests Guide Stable DraftV0.0.8.

The eCall Simulator is a joint product of Testing Technologies IST GmbH and OECON Products & Services GmbH. It takes advantage of the proven TTworkbench as the designated tool for test execution and the cer-tifiedOECONeCallcomponentsforthetechnicaleCallpartoftheproduct.
