    What Is ItAn eating disorder is a physical and mental

    illness which include extreme emotions, attitudesand behaviors surrounding weight and food issues.

    Eating Disorders are serious emotional and physicalproblems that can have life-threateningconsequences.

    They frequently coexist with other illnesses such as

    depression, substance abuse (weight loss pills &laxatives), or anxiety disorders.

    Anorexia Nervosa

    ANOREXIA NERVOSA CAN LEAD TO: Bone weakening Decrease in white blood cells, which leads to

    increased risk of infection Low potassium levels in the blood, which may

    cause dangerous heart rhythms Severe malnutrition Seizures due to fluid or sodium loss from repeated

    diarrhea or vomiting Thyroid gland problems Tooth decay

    Anorexia Nervosais when a person has a distorted image of his/herbody and experience a fear of gaining weight. These people tend toexercise excessively and starve themselves or use other methods to loseweight, for example taking weight loss pills or laxatives.
