Sterling Vehicle Tampering: A resident reported that an unknown White male entered his vehicle and was rummaging through it. He confronted the male who left the area. The victim initially declined to file a report regarding the incident. The following day he discovered a tire on his vehicle was damaged. Sterling Indecent Exposure: The victim reported she was stopped on the side of the Washington and Old Dominion Trail when an unknown male exposed himself. The victim walked away from the subject. Sterling Traffic Stop/Stolen Firearm/Felony: An LCSO Deputy conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle and the driver was determined to be unlicensed. A firearm was located inside the vehicle, and it was discovered it was reported stolen out of Prince William County. The driver, Nathan S. Franks, 26, of Ashburn was charged with Transport Firearm by Convicted Felon, Possession of Stolen Firearm, Possession of Firearm by Convicted Felon, Transport Ammunition by Convicted Felon, Improper Mounting of Tags, Operate Unregistered Vehicle, Operate Uninsured Vehicle, No Driver’s License, Fictitious Registration, and Defective Equipment. Franks remains held at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center on no bond. SO210012684 08/07/21 6:05 a.m. Route 28/Route 7 Sterling Assault: The victim reported she was traveling in the area of Route 28/Route 7 when another driver began driving aggressively next to her. The driver exited his vehicle at a red traffic signal and slapped her through an open window. The victim reported she was not injured. The victim declined to pursue charges at this time. a vehicle and the driver was determined to be unlicensed. A firearm was located inside

the vehicle, and it was discovered it was reported stolen out of Prince William County.

and a discharged round on the floor. A hole was also discovered in the roof. No injuries

Hit and Run/DWI: Deputies responded to the area where a driver reported he was rear

ended while waiting to make a left turn at a traffic signal. The striking suspect vehicle

left the scene. The suspect driver was located and identified as Daniel R. Lauricella, 45,

of Ashburn. He was charged DWI (second conviction within 5 to 10 years) and felony

hit and run. He was released on a $2,500 bond.

the driver was driving on a suspended/revoked license. A stun gun and narcotics were

also found inside the vehicle. The driver, Kelly R. Green, 53, of Winchester was

charged with Possession of a Stun Gun by a Convicted Felon, Possession of a Schedule

computer had been compromised. The victim was advised to pay monies and continued

to send several payments before realizing it was a scam.

08/08/21 Ashburn Puppy Scam: The victim reported he made contact with a subject via email through

littleangelpuppies.com and agreed to purchase a puppy and pay shipping costs. He

wired the monies and received a tracking number. He discovered the tracking number

was not legitimate.

08/09/21 Bluemont Law Enforcement Scam: The resident received a call from a person claiming to be a

detective with the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office. The caller told her there was a

warrant for arrest for missing jury duty. The resident called the LCSO and learned it
