Christ our Passover has been sacrificed! Behold, He is risen from the dead! Alleluia! Every year the Jewish people, including Mary and her son Jesus, celebrated the salvation of God, when the angel of death “passed over” the homes of God’s people so that God might lead them from the land of Egypt. Jesus fulfilled this salvation not by putting off the power of death, but by trans-forming death itself! We will all face death. The good news of the Gospel is that death is not the end, but the gateway into the full-ness of life we will only find at the side of our Risen Savior, Jesus Christ! No power of death,

whether from natural causes or human evil, is stronger than the power of God. That is good news indeed!

As we celebrate Easter, once more in the name of the fri-ars, the Sacred Heart Sisters and all our parish staff, I wish you every grace and blessing. I am grateful for the gift of our com-munity, aware always of the chal-lenges that face us but confident in the grace of God that I see working in our midst every day. May the Risen Christ bless each and every one of you!Alleluia! Christ is risen indeed! Lord bless and keep you always!

Cristo, nuestra Pascua, ¡ha sido sacrificado! ¡Él también ha resucitado de entre los muertos! ¡Aleluya! Todos los judíos, incluyendo María y su hijo Jesús, celebraban cada año la fiesta de pascua, cuando el ángel de la muerte sobrepasó las casas de los israelitas para que el poder de Dios pudiera sa-carlos de Egipto. Encontramos algo nuevo en Jesús: no hay que evitar la muerte; la muerte ha sido trans-formada. Todos moriremos, no lo podemos evitar. La buena nueva del evangelio de Cristo es que la muerte no es el fin de todo. La muerte para sus discípulos es la puerta a la vida eterna. Ni los desastres naturales ni lo malo que hacen los hombres son más poderosos que el Amor de Dios que ha sido derramado entre nosotros. ¡Qué noticia tan buena! En el nombre de los frailes, las hermanas del Sagrado Corazón y todo el equi-po pastoral les mando muchos saludos para la Pascua Florida. Doy gracias al Señor por todas las bendiciones (y los retos) que Él manda a nuestra comuni-dad, porque en medio de todo Dios anda con nosotros. ¡Que Cristo resucitado les bendiga y guarde siempre!

Como alguien dijo una vez acerca de la Iglesia católica: “¡aquí vienen todos!” Así que en este jubileo de misericordia, hacemos nuestra propia Pascua de san Juan Crisóstomo desde hace cuatrocientos años “¡Permitan que todos se ale-gren en esta fiesta radiante! Ustedes que ayunaron desde el inicio de la Cua-resma y ustedes que no ayunaran para nada, ¡alégrense! ¡La mesa está genero-samente arreglada! Vengan, sírvanse, todos, no se preocupen, ¡no se aver-güencen! ¡Todos ustedes, prueben el banquete de la fe! ¡Disfruten la fiesta del perdón! ¡No lloren por haber pecado una y otra vez: el perdón se levanta del sepulcro!” ¡Feliz Pascua! ¡Bienvenidos todos!
