LENTEN SUNDAY EVENING SERVICES March 6 Rummel Abby Shaffer March 13 Arbutus Jack Rupert Services begin at 6:45 PM with a short hymn-sing. The offerings will be split between New Day, Inc. and the Brethren Home benevolent fund. WOMEN’S FELLOWSHIP A brunch will be held on Tuesday, March 8, at 10:30 AM. We’ll be making something for residents at the Home for Easter. All women are invited. Hope to see you there. CAMP HARMONY PRESENTATION On Sunday, March 13, Barron Deffenbaugh will come and give a presentation in the fellowship hall during the Sunday School hour. Children and their parents are invited to hear about what Camp Harmony has to offer this summer. TRIVIA AND CARRY-IN DINNER A trivia event will be held in the fellowship hall on Sunday, March 13, at 5 PM. Bring a covered dish and come enjoy some fun, food and fellowship. JCS OPEN HOUSE Open House for families with students from Preschool through Grade 12 will be held at Johnstown Christian School on Thursday, March 17 from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. and 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. Anyone interested in learning more about Christian Education and Johnstown Christian School is welcome to attend. Students moved into our new $1.2m STEM addition this month! Stop by and tour the building, meet our teachers and see us in action. Information about JCS can also be obtained at www.JohnstownChristianSchool.org. If you are not able to attend Open House and would like to schedule a personal tour, please call the school at (814) 288-2588. SPRING FLING Camp Harmony is having a "Spring Fling" evening of fun and fellowship. The date is March 19, and tickets are $15 per person for appetizers, dinner, and entertainment with an Irish flair!! Appetizers are at 5:00 followed by dinner at 5:30. Reservations need to be in by March 14. Contact camp at 798-5885 to reserve your spot! ONE GREAT HOUR OF SHARING One Great Hour of Sharing is an annual interfaith event in churches across our land. Offering envelopes will be in your bulletins on Sunday, March 20. For over 60 years the Church of the Brethren has shared material resources with a hurting world. CPR & AED CLASS The Middle Taylor Township Volunteer Fire Company will be hosting a CPR and AED class on Sunday, March 20 at 9:00 am. Class will be about 4 hours. EASTER NUT ROLLS Camp Harmony volunteers will again be making nut rolls for Easter. Price is $10 for a 12” roll. Order through Ginny Babal. Rolls will be delivered on March 22 (Benshoff Hill area) or can be picked up at the church on March 23. COMMUNION Our Love Feast worship service will be held on Thurs., March 24 at 7 PM. Bread and cup communion will take place at 1 PM. Please prepare your hearts and lives for this special time of remembering our Lord’s sufferings. Communion is also a time to heal this church, a time to make right any damaged relationships and a time to search our hearts. 24 HOUR PRAYER VIGIL Please sign up for a half hour time slot in our prayer vigil which begins as Communion closes. This 24 hour period is a time of continued prayer and each prayer warrior spends his or her time in the prayer room alone praying for this church, community, and other needs that come to mind. EASTER EGG HUNT Children are invited to attend an Easter Egg Hunt at Pleasant Hill on Good Friday, March 25, from 2-4 PM. If you wish to donate wrapped candy for the hunt (or money to buy the candy), please give it to Lois McKendree or leave it in the church office on or before Sunday, March 20. Thank you!

TENEBRAE SERVICE A “Service of Darkness” will be held on Good Friday, March 25, at 8:00 PM. If you are willing to help with this service in any way, please contact the church office as soon as possible. EASTER SUNRISE Join us for the glorious and joyful celebration of resurrection on Sunday morning, March 27 at 7:00 AM. This worship time will truly help you rejoice in our Lord’s triumph over sin and death. The service concludes with a balloon launch outside and then all are invited for breakfast in the fellowship hall.

EASTER CANTATA Our choir will present the cantata, “Cornerstone” on Easter morning during our 10:30 worship service. Celebrate that first Easter morning when Jesus rose from the dead, forming the foundation of our hope in eternal life.

RUMMAGE SALE Pleasant Hill’s Pioneer Clubs will hold a rummage sale on Sat., April 2. If you have any items you would like to donate for the sale, please bring them to the church during office hours or between 9AM and Noon on Saturdays March 12 and 19. We are able to pick up larger items if needed. SWISS STEAK DINNER On April 8, Pleasant Hill will host another Swiss steak dinner to raise money towards replacing the roof on Heritage Lodge at Camp Harmony. The menu is meat, mashed potatoes, green beans, applesauce, roll and dessert. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for kids, and children under 5 eat for free. Dinner will be served from 4:30 - 6:30. Contact Jim Cameron or Ginny Babal for tickets.

MEET YOUR NEIGHBOR The Gold Team is planning another “Meet Your Neighbor” outing for Sunday, April 24. It’s never too early to start praying for this event.

52 GOD BLESS YOU Camp Harmony has announced the 2016 “52 God Bless You” initiative. If all the families in the Western PA District contribute $1 per week ($52/year), the camp mortgage can be eliminated. If anyone wants to join this team, please contact Ginny Babal or Jim Cameron. On behalf of Camp, thank you for your support! ONE CALL NOW Pleasant Hill subscribes to the service “One Call Now” that allows us to easily make calls to all the members of our congregation, or to specific groups within the church. If your commission, small group or team would like to learn the details on using this feature, please contact the office to set up a time to meet for instruction. The steps are simple and can be done from any computer or smart phone.

ALTAR FLOWERS If you wish to place flowers on the altar at any time during the year, please contact the church office at least a week ahead of time. The cost is $20 for one arrangement, $30 for two. SHOE PROJECT We have completed our second shoe collection, and the Auxiliary for the Brethren Home has made a total of $3,077.20. We turned over almost 7,000 pairs. We will announce our next drive in the spring, but we still have shoes coming. Place your shoes in the chapel, if you have any left! You are not only helping the CoB Home residents, but also those in third world countries.
