5. >EXCAVATION > Excavation collapse, soil erosion >Persons and Equipment / Vehicles fall on excavated area,>Workers being struck by excavating equipment.>Bad Weather condition.
>Check Proper excavation procedure / e.g. Sloping technique>Consistently monitor vibration near excavated areas.>Secure excavated area with caution tape and Signage as well.>Proper PPE.>Competent Equipment Operator.>Workers must position themselves in the areas where the operator has a clear view of them, get focused on their job always. >Constant communication must establish> Conduct Toolbox talk and obtain work permit.>Always consider daily weather condition prior to activity. >No equipment shall stay at excavated areas whenever there is an extreme bad weather condition e.g. typhoon, (etc.)>Rain coat, safety boots, flash lights are to be provided for adequate protection.

BACKFILLING >Damage to other adjacent or nearby obstruction or properties.>Collapse of excavation>Driving through uneven embankment causing equipment to bog down.>Open excavated areas without any warning or signage may cause accident.>Unsafe practice of running dump >Dust production (health hazard)
> A survey shall be carried out to assess risks to any adjacent structures and or Utilities that may exist. >Operators shall be brief on any identified potential hazard.>Unauthorized personnel shall be excluded from areas where the back filling of excavation is taking place. >Spotter shall assist / monitor the backfilling operations in order to prevent any possible equipment damage.>Both Equipment and Operator shall have certification.>Right Equipment for the job. e.g.Backhoe, Grader, Road roller, Dump truck, Water truck etc. >Proper signage to be deployed on site

CHANGING CONDITIONS & EMERGENCY PROCEDURES: Stop work, switch off equipments, Supervisor directs personnel to nearest and safest Muster Point. Supervisor accounts for all workers.
