Luana PalermoPsychology, 2011
Personal Statement
For a long time now I have been interested in the subject of Psychology. I
have a fascination in understanding how the mind absorbs information,
interpreted within certain cognitive processes resulting in a behavior that is
intentional or unintentional. My desire to study Psychology and especially
the question of how an individual's behavior can have a positive or
negative impact on someone else’s life was first awakened through the
dynamics of my parents’ relationship when I was growing up. Some of my
goals include obtaining a Master degree in Psychology, working with
individuals who have struggled with their mental stability to help them
maintain their sense of self by providing psychotherapy, and providing
emotional and financial stability to my family.I place a high value on stability in life which reflects on my
family, career, and relationships. I believe that combined with my enthusiasm
for the subject, the skills I have learned through my past work
experience and my studies will make me an ideal candidate for achieving a career
in the field of Psychology.

My Future in Learning
Learning is a lifelong process. How do you envision your future as
a lifelong learner?
I used to always want to be done with schooling as quickly as
possible. I took as many classes at once as I could handle just to
get through and be done. However, over the past two years I have
learned that learning is a continued and life-long process and one
that I have grown to enjoy immensely. There is no shortage of
routes to take when it comes to education, and every chance I have
to better myself and the world around me, in one that I am going to
take.
