Dear BOMA KC Members: Katie Cone has been our BAE for the past 4 years. During this time she played an important role in growing BOMA KC and been a tremendous resource for our members. As of October 31st she is resigning to pursue a career in Property Management. Her fun, spirited attitude will be missed but we wish her well on her new journey and enjoy knowing that she will still be involved with BOMA as a member. The search for a new BAE is underway and if you know of someone who would be a great addition to our organization we are collecting resume's for review at [email protected]. During this transition the BAE phone number and email will remain the same. Please take the time to thank Katie for her years of dedication to BOMA the next time you see her! Sincerely, Cynthia Sickman BOMA Board President

INDUSTRY DEFENSE FUND ASSISTS IN PREVAILING THE FIGHT AGAINST MISSION ‘TUF’ It has been nearly one year since the BOMA International (Industry Defense Fund or “IDF”) granted BOMA KC a second $25,000 contribution toward expenses incurred in our Mission TUF lawsuit. The IDF committed to the second allocation predicated on the understanding that BOMA KC would provide a match. To facilitate the grant, your BOMA KC Board of Directors voted to take the rare occasion to request a “special assessment” from our principal members. While wishing to express our gratitude to those of you who responded in support of a fight worth fighting on behalf of our region’s owners, it is a matter of disappointment that less than half of the members assessed have participated in this funding to date. For those members who haven’t yet contributed to this ongoing effort, it still isn’t too late to play an important part in winning what is already seen to be a watershed legal challenge of both regional and national significance; with the outcome potentially impacting hundreds, if not thousands of income properties. We hope to demonstrate a much higher level of participation to our BOMA International IDF supporters, as this instance will most certainly figure into any future necessity BOMA KC may have to seek financial assistance from them.

Thanks again to all who have supported this high priority advocacy

consideration!

assessment? Contact [email protected].

WHAT’S HAPPENING ARE YOU USING THE BEST NEW

TOOL FOR INDUSTRIAL

PROPERTIES?

Industrial is one of the hottest sectors in commercial real estate right now, and property professionals need reliable data to see how their industrial properties or portfolios measure up to the growing competition. This data can be found in BOMA Internationals’ brand new Industrial Experience ex-change Report (Industrial EER), the only benchmarking resource in the commercial real estate industry tailored to the industrial sector. Offering the same level of benchmarking excellence you have come to expect from BOMA for the office sector, the Industrial EER is an online database boasting comprehensive income and expense information collected from more than 2,800 industrial properties in 85 markets across the U.S., representing data from nearly half a billion square feet of industrial space. Use the Industrial EER to evaluate and refine operational strategies, build better budgets, identify opportunities for cost savings that can drive a more profitable bottom line and much more. Visit eer.boma.org to subscribe to the Industrial EER-and the 2015 office EER today!
