What do we have at UNM?
BB Vista 4.x (formerly WebCT)a little history…
• 1997 UNM’s first official online course
• 1998: first LMS
• 1999: 2 LMSs
• 2000: Online Faculty: “We want one !”
• 2000: SIS data synch
• 2003: Upgrading LMS & Banner integration discussion
• 2004: Decision to move forward with LMS upgrade & integration
• 2005: began Upgrade & integration
• 2006: went ‘live’ with SIS integrated LMS (automagic!)
UNM Web Course Definitions
• Web-enhanced course: course is traditional classroom
face-to-face format with an online component (WebCT/Vista)
• Hybrid course: 50% of course is a traditional classroom format
with 50% of course in an online / web-based format (WebCT/Vista)
• Online course: course is web-based (WebCT/Vista) with less than 25%
of the course face-to-face
