Identify where you are in the phases in each dimensionBased on some of the assessments you looked into
during the last topic, choose one or two of the most important dimensions to focus on at a time
Mark your current position inside these dimensions as either Emerging, Engaging, Enabling, or Empowering
Determine what the progress will look like moving beyond your current phase
For example: You will move from Emerging to Engaging in Professional Learning by first raising awareness of ICT’s and then trial and begin to use these ICT’s in your context.
Plan for the steps ahead
Develop a short and long term action plan with realistic timeframes
Identify key actions and processes that can be measured
Determine roles and responsibilities of staff
Provide adequate support to staff who may still be developing their skills and understandings in a pre-emerging phase
Determine how and when you will reflect on and monitor progress during and at the end of each stage
Action
This might include:
Introducing new technologies into the classroom
Co-creating with the staff and/or students the criteria required to ensure success using specific tools.
How will these tools support specific learning needs?
Upgrading connectivity or hardware
Further exploration of what other schools are doing as it fits in with your focus on a specific dimension.
Review and reflect
Revisit your action plan and other supporting documents
Determine what has been achieved using evidence from student achievement, staff review, and community feedback
Look again at the eLPF at the dimension(s) you have focused on.
