Histranslation of Rilke’s DuinoElegies was shortlisted for the2007 Popescu Prize forEuropean Poetry Translationand Magma writes that it is

He also edits TheBlizzard, a quarterly journal of football writing thatgives its authors the freedom to write the footballstories that matter to them, be that at the highestlevel or the lowest, at home or abroad.

It was written after Minhinnick’svisit to Iraq in 1997, and addresses the politicaland environmental destruction wrought by theongoing war in Iraq. In his latest collection, Barkin!, Mike Jenkinscaptures both the craziness and tragedy of hishome town.
