On 14 May 1953, the first full stageperformance of Under Milk Wood tookplace in New York, the cast comprisingDylan Thomas and five Americanactors. We mark the sixtieth anniversaryof this night with our Under Milk WoodDays in May, and we continue ourcelebration of Dylan and others duringthe autumn’s Dylan Thomas Festival,which will include a Doctor Who Day,an event on The Killing with EmmaKennedy and David Hewson and astaging of Dylan’s Rebecca’sDaughters. “Love the words”, as Dylansaid to his New York cast, and wehope that you will join us throughout theyear to do the same.

John Lavin, Gary Raymond andRhys Milsom discuss online editing with JonGower, and Jeni Williams examines the futureof publishing with Welsh Books Council bossElwyn Jones and Parthian’s Richard Davies.We conclude with a centenary celebration ofR.S. Thomas. Organised in partnership withUniversity of Wales Trinity Saint David andSwansea University, with the kind support ofthe H’mm Poetry Foundation.

by Joe and Richard Ayoade in 2010.Starring Craig Roberts, filming took place

across south west Wales. Join Joe andCraig in exploring some of these

places by coach and on foot, finishingwith drinks in the forest from the film.

A screening, introduced by Joe and Craig,will precede the tour – come along as

part of, or instead of the tour.

EXHIBITION5 July to 28 August25/25 VISION: WELSHHORIZONS ACROSS 50YEARS PHOTOGRAPHS BYJOHN BRIGGSA photographic exhibition featuring someof Wales’ leading contemporary writers,including Zoe Skoulding, Owen Sheers, JohnWilliams, Rhian Edwards, Catrin Dafydd andPatrick McGuinness. It forms part of a projectto celebrate the Institute of Welsh Affairs’ 25thanniversary by examining writers’ experiencesover the past quarter of a century, and lookingahead to the next 25 years.
