needs and gaps of 4 Districts (Duhok, Zakho, Amedi, Sumel) and its ready for any NGO who is interested to apply to this proposal to get priority list from directorate of water .

BRHA updates on existing IDPS and Refugees camps and Mosul Response-Camps.

- BRHA update on new camps:

Nargizlia 1: population has been decreased, currently there is around 1150 families compare 1500 families a month ago. 6200 Individuals.

Nargizlia 2: 1100 families. 6180 Individuals.

Amalla: not occupied still empty

Zilkan: not occupied still empty

Qaymawa: 230 families compare to 390 families a month ago. 1185 Individuals

Still few families coming from Mosel actually few amount 2-3 families per day and all families according to the plan of government will settled in Nargazlia camp only in order to control them and not to waste much money and effort.

A lot of families leaving the camp and go back to origin places and they don’t having WASH facilities so the big challenge is majority of returnees areas have no WASH facilities most of water treatment plans are not rehabilitated and they are not working in full capacity. UNICEF responsible of water tracking there but they cannot continue because it cost them 130,000 $ in monthly bases .

The other challenge is when the families leave the camps, they destroy the WASH facilities by breaking or taking the water taps and other parts.

BRHA raised the issue of expiry dates of some care and maintenance contracts in some camps because some of the camps the expiry date is very soon so we have to find some solution and some NGOs are not sure about the date and that put us in the critical situations to make decision in order to not to leave gap in any camp.

BRHA to follow up with all partners to find out an interested NGO for Besivy camp.

Bersive 1 camp have a critical situation because the contract of care & maintenance expire date is in the end of May that’s means we have a gap in this camp so any NGO interested to fill this gap.

UNICEF raised the issue of comprehensive support of the work of Care and Maintenance in camps because of the limited budget UNICEF cannot support all camps regarding Hygiene Kits and cleaning kits, UNICEF will only support their own partners.

BRHA raised another issue which the shortage of water in some camps specially in Faida Sub District namely in Kabrto 1&2 ,Domiz1&2, referring to DoW report the main water project of Duhok city affected by intersection with oil pipe so they stopped the project for 18 hours so also

NGOs involved in Care &maintenance projects in camps should confirm about the expiry date of their contacts & inform BRHA in time.

some areas from Duhok been affected like Tanahi,Avro city and Malta. But now its fine all have water even in mentioned camps the situation of water is good and if compare the situation with last summer the situation is much better and the average quantity of water for each person per day is 56 LCPD except last 2 days because of the general issue.

Regarding the Problem of water shortage in Dawdya camp, PWJ have a project to redesign the water network in the camp and to dig a borehole and pump water separately to some section in the camp but the project is not confirmed.

Giz will solve the problems of Domiz camp temporarily, they just processed a BOQs prepared by DOW for approval process which include connection to ROJ reservoir in Faida Sub district.

It was supposed to Drill two boreholes but the directory of ground water reports are not very encouraging

Major challenges,

constrains ( by

partners)

Giz held a workshop of 2days about the performance management of water utilities for all the directorates of Duhok governorate participated.

HARIKAR, in Darkar camp mentioned a problem in two boreholes about the water quality is below the standards and Eng.Vagir will follow up with this issue.

UNHCR raised the issue of water contamination in Qaymawa camp. UNICEF mentioned that the Asura aliraqia NGO is responsible of water quality and they are not aware about such cases

Mr Edrees raised the issue of 380 families living in informal settlement in Khanke collective town living around the main street the government with UNDP have a project to construct the main road at least 54 families will be affected so BRHA coordinating with Khanke municipality located a land for informal settlement in Khanke to solve the problem and coordinating with UNHCR to provide tents for them. So we asking all the partner who related to WASH cluster to provide them with latrines bath units water network.

DoW should follow up about water quality in Darkar camp

Alasura Aliraqia (NGO)should follow up about water quality in Qaymawa camp
