RediStart™ MVRXE Series starters provide solidstate reduced voltage starting for normal operationand full voltage emergency back-up starting formission critical motor control applications.

Benshaw’s RediStart™ pre-packaged dual redundant solidstate starters are microprocessorcontrolled reduced voltagestarters for three phase inductionmotors. These starters provideclosed-loop soft start control forsmooth stepless motor accelera-tion, and emergency full voltageback up starting capability, ifrequired. They are supplied in arugged, free-standing NEMA12 or NEMA 3R enclosure.

Each enclosure consists oftwo distinct compartments; themedium voltage (power pole)section is located in the mainbody of the enclosure, and thelow voltage section containingcontrol logic is located in anisolated compartment.

MVRXE medium voltage startersare supplied with a load break /fault make isolation switch, Class“R” motor fuses, inline vacuumcontactor, solid state power poles,and a vacuum bypass contactor,which is used to bypass the SCRpower poles once the motor isup to full speed.

MX3 control technology

Benshaw’s powerful MX3

controls provide precise, user-selectable digital starting andstopping capabilities, motorprotection, metering, diagnosticsand communications. It alsoprovides the circuitry requiredto drive the power semi-conductors, which are locatedin the power section.

Dual redundant design

All RediStart™ MVRXEprepackaged medium voltagecontrols provide solid statereduced voltage starting fornormal operation and full voltageemergency back-up starting—with complete electronic motorprotection—at the flip of aswitch. This unique, dualredundant design is ideal formission critical applicationswhere downtime is extremelydisruptive and cannot betolerated.
