Only 39% of the 877 molecules of new drugs can be classified as truly synthetic in origin.
16.4% correspond to synthetic molecules containing a pharmacophore derived directly from natural products.
12% are actually modeled on a natural product.
Close to 70% of new drugs are naturally derived or inspired.

TLC Bioautography
A simple, rapid, and inexpensive method to detect bioactive compounds
In TLC bioautography, both separation and antimicrobial assay are performed on the same TLC plate.
This method, as a qualitative technique, gives an idea of the presence or absence of bioactive substances.

∝ ∝
Q-1HNMR
The basis of qNMR is the proportional relationship between the given integral resonance and the number of protons.
Therefore, the drug content can be calculated with the integral values of the analyte and the internal standard in thesame solution.
-
27
Q-NMR has been widely applied in complex mixtures (environmental toxicity, drug toxicity, diseasediagnosis, cancer metabolism, pathophysiology of disease, stress, nutrition, drug metabolism, plant
metabolism, bacterial metabolism, and cell-virus interactions).
Q-1HNMR
QNMR can be conducted without analyte reference materials.
ONMR can provide structural information and does not destroy the samples.
QNMR can undertake multicomponent analysis in a mixture without pre-isolation.
QNMR requires a comparatively short time.
