    1. Purpose

    The purpose of the Dress Standards and Personal Grooming Policy is to outline the general

    requirements for team members to meet the minimum standards of personal appearance when

    working at Echo properties. This policy is not intended to prevent team members from looking

    fashionable, however it cannot reflect future changes in what may be fashionable, yet

    unacceptable. A 5 star standard of conservative, professional presentation is the benchmark for

    all team members. Some dress and grooming standards are required to ensure a safe and

    healthy working environment for team members and customers and to comply with various

    legislative requirements.

    The policy does not include detailed requirements for specific departments within

    individual Echo properties. Team members will receive department specific requirements

    from their local HR representatives or manager.

    In all cases management reserves the right to determine what is deemed to be a 5 star standard

    and conservative, professional minimum.

    2. Scope

    This policy applies to all employees of Echo Entertainment Group Limited (Echo) and all

    employees of Echo Group companies. It applies to all permanent and temporary team members,

    whether full time, part time or casual who apply for and/or are permitted by Echo to perform work

    or provide services. It also applies to all secondees, contractors, people on work experience and

    employees or agents of suppliers of services to Echo or any Echo Group company. In this policy,

    all of the above mentioned persons are referred to in this policy as employee, you or team

    member.

    3. Background

    Echo is a diverse and vibrant organisation offering a range of hospitality, entertainment and

    gaming experiences for our customers. By understanding and living the 5F standards and

    behaviours we are able to deliver exceptional service to our customers. The 5F standards and

    behaviours are:

    FAST (quick and energetic);

    FUN (upbeat and playful);

    FRIENDLY (welcoming and helpful);

    FRESH (clean and fully functional);

    FOCUSED (stay in the moment and deliver).

    We aim to create a workplace where we can be proud of everything we do. Our appearance and

    personal grooming standards are a reflection of the pride we have in ourselves and our growing

    business and align to the requirements of FRESH - that is, clean, fully functional and consistent

    in appearance, attitude and product.

    4. General appearance

    When at work, team members are ambassadors for Echo and as such are to adhere to the

    following principles in relation to their general appearance:

    dress in a clean, tidy and professional manner at all times;

    maintain personal hygiene before and during shifts. Smelling clean and fresh presents a

    favourable impression to other team members and customers;

    wearing cosmetics and makeup is a personal choice and may be used to enhance natural

    appearance. Application however, should give the appearance of a natural look with some

    complementary eye and lip colouring;

    refrain from wearing sunglasses or darkly tinted glasses indoors, unless prescribed by the

    team members treating doctor in order to permit the team member to perform the inherent

    requirements of their position. If working outside, choose conservative sunglasses of a

    moderate size that allow guests to see your eyes through the lenses and remove glasses

    when addressing a guest;

    refrain from chewing gum at any time while at work. It is not the hallmark of hospitality or a

    display of professional service;

    given Echo operates in the hospitality industry, take personal pride in presentation which is a

    key factor in determining a team members performance and subsequent recognition.

    5. Dress standards

    Dress standards ensure that team members always look professional, clean and tidy whether

    they are required to wear a uniform or not. A team members entire presentation should reflect a

    5 star standard throughout the work day or shift.

    5.1 Uniforms

    In positions where a uniform is provided, team members are required to wear the

    uniform correctly and fully at all times when working:

    o jackets and vests must be buttoned at all times when in front of house areas;

    o sleeves must not be rolled up and are to be buttoned at the wrist whilst performing

    duties and in front of house areas;

    o non-uniform articles of clothing are not to be worn over a standard uniform unless

    for the purpose of performing the team members duties, or with management

    approval;

    Team members are responsible for ensuring that uniforms are clean at all times and are

    changed for clean articles when soiled and/or non-hygienic. Aprons must be changed

    when they become heavily soiled and/or unhygienic.

    Chefs must wear neckties at all times unless property specific conditions apply.

    Undergarments should not be visible beneath uniforms and should complement the

    uniforms.

    Hosiery and socks should be in good condition, a colour consistent with the garments

    being worn and free from runs, holes and snags.

    Team members are responsible for reporting all issues with incorrect uniform fit, style

    and condition. This includes hems, fabric discolouration/fading and general fabric wear

    and tear.

    Uniforms, security passes, licences or name badges should not be worn off site or

    outside of working hours unless property specific exceptions apply;

    5.2 Professional/corporate attire

    When a team member does not wear a uniform at work, their attire must still satisfy Echos

    dress standards and present in a conservative, professional, manner that reflects the right

    image, is tasteful, non-offensive and does not create a health and safety risk. Appropriate

    professional attire includes:

    5.2.1 Property specific

    Front of house team members may have specific professional attire standards and

    department specific requirements should be referred to.

    5.2.2 Corporate

    Suit (and tie for males);

    if a suit is not a property requirement, long trousers and a collared shirt for males;

    socks must be the same colour as shoes;

    a dress, skirt or trousers with appropriate shirt for females;

    hosiery, should be in good condition, a colour consistent with the garments being

    worn and free from runs, holes and snags;

    shirts to be buttoned up appropriately;

    jewellery appropriate to the outfit, professional and not excessive;

    surveillance department team members should refer to their departmental

    guidelines;

    Examples of clothes a team member must not wear at work include jeans, singlets,

    tracksuits, clothes with large slogans, short crop tops or revealing clothes, thongs or Crocs,

    cargo pants, leggings, summer strapless dresses, see-through or sparkling clothing, hem

    lengths above mid thigh or shoestring straps without an accompanying jacket are deemed

    inappropriate etc.

    Should Casual Fridays or other such themed days be permitted, the clothing examples

    above must be adhered to with the exception of jeans that may be worn.

    5.3 Shoes

    Shoes are an important part of presentation and a health and safety consideration and as

    such the following conditions apply to all team members:

    shoes must be plain leather, black or the correct colour for your uniform or suit;

    for safety reasons, shoes must have a closed-in toe and a non-slip sole (unless team

    members work in a venue that has specific requirements);

    shoes must be well polished and in good condition;

    heels must be no higher than 5 centimetres;

    backless shoes (or sling back shoes) pose a safety risk and are not permitted;

    where safety shoes are provided to team members, they must be worn at all times

    during working hours.

    5.4 Jewellery and body art

    Echo recognises the individuality of our team members and because of this, jewellery may

    be worn. When a team member is at work jewellery must be kept to a professional minimum

    that is in keeping with the personality of the department in which the team member works

    and be within the following guidelines:

    rings are permitted and should be kept to a maximum of one ring per hand (with the

    exception of a wedding ring set) for uniformed team members;

    watches and necklaces, if worn, must be kept to a maximum of one item each, be

    discreet and complement the uniform or professional attire worn;

    bracelets or bangles may compromise health and safety requirements and as such may

    not be appropriate in some areas refer to local property/department guidelines;

    jewellery that may damage uniforms or equipment must not be worn;

    earrings must be a matching pair or one earring , in the centre of the ear lobe and must

    not extend more than 2cm below the earlobe. Earrings may be stud or hoop earrings,

    must complement the uniform and be no greater than 2cm in diameter. Dangling or

    drop earrings are not permitted;

    other than earrings, visible body piercings, including but not limited to eyebrow, nose,

    tongue and lip rings, are not permitted. Some departments may permit visible body

    piercing, in which case the department manager will advise of specific guidelines. In this

    instance, visible body piercing should be kept to a minimum and complement the

    uniform or professional attire;

    visible tattoos, skin decorations or transfers are not permitted and must be covered and

    not be visible when in uniform or in professional attire;

    if a team member works in a venue that permits visible body art (tattoos and piercings),

    it must not be offensive. Body art that displays images or words which depict violence,

    sexually explicit images or words, nudity or are generally deemed to be offensive must

    not be visible when in uniform or professional attire;

    any pins, badges or stickers which are not issued or branded by the specific property,

    are not permitted;

    in food production areas jewellery (other than plain wedding bands) is not permitted.

    This includes watches, bracelets, bangles, exposed body-piercing adornments,

    necklaces, etc. If the item is difficult to remove then it may be taped securely with

    adhesive tape each shift;

    anklets and pocket chains are not permitted.

    6. Personal grooming

    6.1 Hair

    Team members may choose how they wear their hair according to the following guidelines:

    hair must be clean, neat, tidy, well maintained and worn in a professional style;

    hair, if dyed, must be of natural hair colour only and regrowth must be maintained.

    Extreme and unnatural hair colour and highlights are not permitted;

    uniformed team members with hair falling below the collar must tie it back and keep it

    away from the face. Appropriate styles include ponytail, braid, plait, bun/French knot.

    Other styles must be approved by the manager;

    partial shaving beyond the natural hairline, sculptured or design shaving and extreme

    level cutting is not permitted;

    hair accessories must have a functional purpose (e.g. for holding back or tying back

    hair) and not be just decorative. Accessories should complement and not overpower the

    uniform. Extreme colours are not permitted;

    food handlers must restrain their hair with effective headwear to prevent food

    contamination. Chef style hats, either white toques style or bakers cap, must be worn

    when in the presence of customers and serving food products where leaning over the

    food product may contaminate the food due to loose hairs. Team members who serve

    food do not have to wear a hat, but must ensure that all hair is worn back, away from

    the face and is restrained by the use of hair clips or hair bands;

    some facial hair is permitted however, it must be neat, trimmed and well groomed.

    Moustaches may be worn if they are neatly trimmed to the corner of the mouth. They

    must be fully developed and not in growing stages; team members should refer to

    specific department guidelines concerning beards and other facial hair.

    In all cases management reserves the right to determine what is deemed to be a tidy and

    professional hair style or facial hair and the right to direct compliance to acceptable grooming

    standard prior to commencing work. Hair styles that are not considered professional include,

    but are not limited to, any styles that incorporate rat-tails, dreadlocks, Mohawks, mullets or

    partially shaved heads.;

    6.2 Hands

    Most of the service we provide to our customers involves the use of a team members

    hands, therefore it is important that special attention is paid to them as follows:

    hands must always be clean and washed with soap and warm water regularly

    throughout the day for health purposes. This is particularly important before and after

    eating, using the bathroom and handling coins or gaming chips;

    nails must be clean and fingernail length should not interfere with job performance, or

    give rise to health or safety issues;

    if nail polish is worn, the colour must complement the uniform or clothing and be well

    maintained. Team members may be asked to remove polish if it is chipped or not

    deemed an appropriate colour. Dark colours such as black, brown or fluorescent

    colours may be deemed unsuitable;

    nail polish is not permitted to be worn in food preparation areas.

    6.3 Personal hygiene

    It is a requirement that team members report for work in a manner that is of the highest

    personal hygiene standards. Guidelines to maintain personal hygiene include:

    cleaning teeth regularly with toothpaste to ensure pleasant smelling breath when

    engaging with others. Our smile is one of the most important aspects of our personal

    presentation;

    bathing regularly (minimum daily) and using antiperspirant deodorant regularly to

    prevent body odour;

    perfumes and aftershaves are permitted however, scents must not be overpowering to

    others;

    if a team member smokes ensure that breath is freshened up and body spray or

    deodorant applied prior to going back on shift to avoid smelling of smoke.

    7. ID badges, cards and licences

    Property ID badges, cards and licences should be displayed and worn at all times by all

    uniform or non-uniform team members on a property branded lanyard or clip when back of

    house. Due to health and safety requirements, lanyards may not be worn in some

    departments.

    Badges/stickers and pins which are not issued by the property are not permitted on ID

    badges and licences and must otherwise not be worn.

    Unless an exemption has been approved, team members who hold a Casino Licence are

    required to display the licence at all times in all areas whilst performing their duties. It must

    be displayed on the tag to the left hand side of the team members shirt/vest/jacket. The

    team members property ID card should be displayed on the flip side of the casino licence.

    8. Compliance

    Any individual or group exception to the requirements set out in this policy must be approved by a

    General Manager in consultation with the General Manager Human Resources and the Managing

    Director.

    If a team member does not follow the requirements of this policy, the team members manager

    will:

    remind the team member of the policy and explain why Echo has such a policy;

    if a team member is informed by a manager that their appearance does not meet the

    requirements under this policy, the team member must rectify their appearance or dress

    standard within the timeframe provided to them by their manager. In some instances, this

    may involve the team member not being permitted to commence their next shift until the

    issue is rectified;

    any failure to adhere to this policy will result in disciplinary action, which may result in

    termination of employment.

    9. Responsibilities

    9.1 Manager responsibilities

    Responsibilities of the manager include:

    identifying clear dress and grooming standards with team members and ensuring the

    standards are adhered to;

    identifying department specific requirements with team members;

    responding immediately to breaches of the dress and grooming standards and

    providing a suitable time frame for the team member to correct the issue;

    maintaining a department consistent with this policy.

    9.2 Team member responsibilities

    Responsibilities of the team member include:

    adhering to the dress standards identified in this policy;

    adhering to department specific requirements as advised by your manager;

    if requested to do so, making appropriate correction to dress or personal grooming in

    the time frame agreed with your manager.

    contractually binding on Echo Entertainment Group Limited (or any of its related bodies

    corporate) and do not give rise to enforceable rights. Echo Entertainment Group Limited (and its

    related bodies corporate) may amend, vary, supplement or remove this policy at any time.
