ROGERS, M.D. Dr. David Elliot Rogers (1926-1994) was an outstanding physician, scholar, researcher, educator, author, philanthropist and public servant. From 1972 until 1987, Dr. Rogers was the first head of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation in Princeton, New Jersey. He served on city and state AIDS commissions before becoming co-chair of the National Commission on AIDS in 1989. In 1997, Southampton Hospital’s Center was named to honor his work as a leader in the struggle against AIDS. ROSE WALTON A HIV/AIDS pioneer and visionary, Rose Walton’s endeavors included the creation and implementation of Long Island’s first information and referral hotline, a statewide college HIV/AIDS educational program, and development of the AIDS Education and Resource Center at SUNY Stony Brook. In 2011, the Center was renamed Rose Walton Care Services at the David E. Rogers, MD Center for HIV/AIDS provides comprehensive outpatient medical and mental health care, HIV testing, and support services. The Center also provides education and outreach to friends and families. From initial diagnosis of HIV through every stage of illness, our medical team of credentialed HIV specialists offers state-of-the- art care. Most private insurance plans, Medicare, Medicaid and ADAP Plus are accepted. No one is denied care for lack of financial resources. COMPREHENSIVE ASSISTANCE On-call service 24 hours/7 days per week free confidential HIV counseling and testing Post-exposure prophylaxis (pep) care Wellness fund financial support for patients’ special needs Psychosocial support Nutritional counseling provided by a NYS registered dietician Medical case management including treatment adherence Assistance with advocacy, case management, entitlements, and legal services Serve as a community resource for information, referral, and support Interpreter service The David E.
