General Objectives: By the end of the lesson, students should be able to identify the meaning, purposes and steps of recycling.

Specific objectives : By the end of the lesson, students should be able to

1. Define the terms “reduce”, “reuse” and “recycle”.

2. Differentiate between the terms “reduce”, “reuse” and “recycle”.

3. Identify the materials which can be recycled and the purposes of

recycling.

4. Arrange the recycling steps correctly.

5. Produce 1 mind map based on the listed questions given.

Previous knowledge: Students know what is meant by rubbish or waste.

Teaching materials : Video clip, Overhead Projector (OHP), transparency slides, marker pen,

whiteboard, empty boxes, waste materials, drawing papers and manila cards.

Learning Tasks

1. Teacher instructs the students to form 3 groups and asks each group to group the recyclable wastes according to the correct recycling bin.

2. Teacher asks the students to divide themselves into 4 groups with 5 to 6 members in a group. Then the students are required to produce a mind map based on the listed questions given.

1. Students follow the teacher’s instructions and group the recyclable wastes according to correct recycling bin.

2. Students get into their group and start discussing and producing the mind map by referring to the questions given.
