Most Leda products are available in a pre-primed painted finish or galvanised mild steel. Leda utilises its own robotic cutting / welding and powder -coating equipment to ensure a consistent, high quality finish to all of its products.

DesignOngoing research and development provides the products and technical advice needed for real perimeter security solutions. Products are 3D modelled, and drawn for installation when required. Shop drawings are submitted for approval prior to manufacturing. Engineering sta� includes both mechanical and electrical with close support from civil engineering sub-contractors.

ManufacturingLeda’s modern 6000m2 manufacturing facility is located at Tuggerah NSW (90km north of Sydney). Leda’s internal manufacturing processes use MRP (Manufacturing Resource Planning) which also enables an e�ective QA system. To gain a deeper understanding of Leda’s manufacturing capabilities, prearranged tours of the facility are welcome.

EngineeringLeda not only engineers the doors, but has developed a number of lifting options that are designed to signi�cantly reduce installation times and costs. This technology has been developed by Leda’s engineers and further demonstrates Leda’s reputation as the industry leader.

Leda industrial doors are designed & manufactured to suit a variety of applications & weather conditions for any large building opening.Our doors are specifically designed by our skilled & experienced engineers which allows Leda to tailor solutions for any requirement. Utilising either steel or aluminium frames for various working conditions & extra wind loading requirements, we can design a solution to fit the most demanding locations.From medium to extreme sizes we can design & manufacture doors up to 60m wide & heights up to 40m.All gearbox & motor systems are designed for maximum efficiency.

Engagement

Our recommended staged approach to large door projects is:1. Client to provide specifications & wind loading for the area to which the doors will be installed.

Make sure you differentiate wind loadings when the doors are closed or in motion.2. Leda will provide basic door information such as how the doors are typically mounted or similar

drawings. They are not site specific at this early stage.3. Leda will provide a door quote including engineering costs. We trust that around this point a

preferred supplier can be identified as all costs are now known. Once Leda has the wind loadings, location & door sizes we typically quote in 5-7 days.

4. If your due diligence in relation to Leda & the door are satisfied, Leda should be engaged to assist with final door designs to meet site specific building requirements including structural certificate agreement of the door which is crucial to do before the project starts. The structural engineering is billable work but no commitment beyond engineering costs is required.

Lead Times GuideWhile Leda will provide a complete project timeline with our quote, some timing guidelines are below:1. Quotation 5-7 days2. Engineering can be from 5 days to 5

weeks & a hard task to pin down as lots of changes, people & sign offs required.

3. From drawing sign off to goods ready for shipment (overseas) is approx. 6-10 weeks, again dependant on size & quanitity.

4. Shipment time we allow 6 weeks & add 2 more weeks for customs & road shipment to site.

5. Installation for small doors is typically 2 - 5 days & large doors up to 7 - 14 days each. Doors under 12m can be shipped largely assmebled so faster to install.

Side Rail & Top SectionsThe side guide rails & bottom sections are manufactured using reinforced steel. The rail system is made from aluminium or steel depending on individual site requirements. Each section is a maximum of 2m to enable rapid & easy repair or replacement in the event of impact damage.Cable breakage systems are installed at each end of the bottom section to prevent the door closing in the event of cable failure. The steel lifting wires are also connected to cable breakage system.

FabricThe door is made of two layers of heavy duty special 900 gram vinyl-coated polyester fabric, seperated by aluminium or steel intermediate sections.Vision panels can be built into the doors to allow light penetration when the doors are closed.

SealsSide rail rubber seals & our custom designed rubber bottom seal provide a weather & vermin resistant seal when the door is closed.

Wind RatingsSee AS/NZS 1170.2:2011 for wind information for your intended site location. Fabric doors can be designed for cyclone areas which are referred to as “Wind Region D” in the standard. Most major cities are in A regions.As part of the structural engineering review, other variables in addition to region to be considered inc-lulde:

That is why the structural engineering review is conducted at the start of the process so structural engineering certification is provided.Consideration should also be given for wind loadings when the door is closed, in motion, or open.

How it worksThe doors consist of either two sheets of PVC coated polyester fabric with intermediate, horizontal steel or aluminium sections, fitted between the fabrics. These intermediate sections transfer the wind load to vertical guide rails which also supply extra wind resistance. The door leaf is opened by the bottom section being lifted by steel wires which are wound up on drums, driven by the automated drive system. The sections above are stacked on top of one another & the fabric folds into pleats on the sides.

ConstructionThe door leaf is made of two layers of heavy duty special 900 gram vinyl-coated polyester fab-ric, seperated by aluminium or steel intermediate sections.The intermediate top section is bolted to the header box with steel wire.The fabric is attached to both sides of the intermediate sections for added strength.

Operation SystemThe system can be controlled by a completely auto-mated system or a simple pushbutton. The control box has an up & down button & an emergency stop button.The door automation can be integrated with remote controls, radar, induction loops, sirens or traffic lights

MaintenanceThe Leda Fabric Doors are low maintenance requiring a recommended annual inspection process to check the steel cable & running rails for any signs of wear & tear.

PanelThe panel is 40 mm thick and is supplied in two different heights: 500 and 610 mm. The panel is made of a galvanised steel double wall manufactured with the Sendzimir procedure, then treated with primer and polyester resin paint and subject to a further treatment which ensures a high surface strength. The finish on the outside of the sheet metal has a STREAKED EFFECT whilst the finish on the inside of the sheet metal has an embossed orange peel effect; the external side of the panel is made of horizontal groove panels. Anti-pinching and anti-crushing “finger-saving” device.InsulationThe insulation fitted to the panels is made of 48 kg/m3 density, self extinguishing Class B2, CFCs-free (chlorofluo-rocarbons)polyurethane foam. The average thermal transmittance value for the whole door installed is highly impressive: U = 1.51 W/m2k.SealsThe seals supplied as standard are anti-ageing EPDM seals and are located in the following hinged points:

a) intermediate seals between consecutive panels;b) lower doorstop lip seal;c) upper doorstop finned seal fitted to seal the door near the lintel;d) vertical seals, fitted to the side uprights.

Surround profilesThe sides of the door panels are fitted with galvanised, white powder coated steel profiles which serve the purpose of keeping the consecutive panels that make up the sectional overhead door aligned, as well as holding against the insulated panel the support side hinge for the sliding rollers. In the bottom section of the first panel a hideaway seal-holder aluminium profile is fitted, whilst the upper section of the last panel is enclosed in a black painted aluminium profile which acts as holder for the closure lip seal.Runners and sliding systemsThe runners are made of galvanised cold profiled sheet metal suitably shaped to hold the side rollers. The joint between the runners that make up the door is spot welded and its size is calculated according to the door dimensions and sliding unit type. The sliding operation of the panels inside the runners is ensured by silent operation rollers fitted with very strong plastic wheels with radial ball bearings.Springs and lifting cablesThe suitably loaded torsion springs are made of a steel cable: they are located inside the upper guide section, on a horizontalshaft directly connected with the cable winder pulleys made of die-cast aluminium and fitted with helicoi-dal slots which hold themultiwire steel cables used to lift the door.Safety devicesThe fully certified safety devices are fitted as standard on all doors and will operate in the following cases, in order to avoid the facing from accidentally falling:

a) in case of traction cable breakage;b) in case of torsion spring breakage.

WarningOnly for doors with PL > around 4000 mm, in HL and VL elevations, all panel dark colours, including those available in the standard range such as colours RAL 8014, RAL 6005 and also all non standard dark colours, may cause panel warping due to sunlight, for which we cannot be held responsible: please see the technical manual to find possible solutions to reduce the problem.

Main FeaturesVertically operated industrial door consisting of thermally insulated horizontal panels sliding on wheels within side runners. The door is fitted with ball joints between the panels, it bends near the ceiling and then stops parallel to it (NL- HL- RLO/RLB - IL- HLIL versions) or continues further up along the opening (VL version), thus leaving the entire access opening free.

MAInTEnAnCEThe maintenance of the door must be carried out by specialist technicians. Maintenance schedule (every 6 months):• The maintenance and lubrication of the mechanical parts must be performed with the door

lowered and, in the case of automatic functioning, with the power switched off.• Check the functioning of the safety devices (the cable and spring breakage device in the

manual versions and the motor in the automatic versions).• Check the raising cables for signs of wear.• Check that the cables slide freely in the cylinders.• Periodically lubricate the hinges, bearings, wheel pivots and torsion springs.• Check that there are no obstacles that alter the correct sliding of the wheels in the tracks.• Check that the upper sliding structure is perf ectly anchored to the ceiling and that there are

no faults, folds or sagging.• Check that there are no loose screws or bolts.• Do not modify any part of the raising and/or sliding system.• Always use original DITEC spare parts. No responsibility can be accepted for any damage to

people or property if original DITEC spare parts are not used.This type of maintenance must be performed periodically on the doors. It is therefore advisable to keep an up-to-date maintenance book that indicates the registration number of the door as shown on its identity plaque.Operations that must nEVER be carried out during maintenance:• Do not cut one or more of the traction cables of the door• Do not loosen the tension of the springs (this tension has been calculated by

the manufacturer on the basis of the weight of the curtain).• Do not tamper with the safety devices• Do not loosen the anchorage bolts of the hinges situated between the panels.

The Sector Reset door is characterised by a sturdy compact and free-standing structure, by a front motor with black ABS protective cover in an exclusive design, easily and quickly accessible for quick checks on the components.

The motor features an optional release device for a semiautomatic emergency reopening system, which can be made completely automatic with the APS system.

Sector Reset is noted for a series of significant levels of safety such as the balancing system, the Safety Linear Encoder, (SLE), system and the sequential barriers.

The exclusive SLE, Patent Pending, device constantly controls the movement of the curtain reversing the closing motion in case of obstacles.

The sequential safety barriers protect the closing line of the door blade up to a height of 2.5 m, making the installation of other photocells or bottom safety edges unnecessary. Tight-sealing, safe, flexible, self-repairing curtains.

The curtain slides inside the side hinges making it very resistant to air and static wind pressure (up to 120 km/h). Available in a wide range of colours, it can be provided with standard transparent PVC windows and optional larger windows configured as needed, to meet a vast range of operating and safety requirements.

In addition, there is the possibility of creating partial or total silk-screens and digital prints, to meet the specific requirements of particular commercial environments.

The Traffic CM door is a sturdy, reliable and safe solution suitable for large entrances. It is the best solution for external entrances exposed to wind and in special conditions such as low pressure rooms.

It features a built-in structure housing the motor, a counte rweight balancing system, control and safety devices and a fast semi automatic reopening device. The counterweighted balancing system ensures high operating standard in terms of performance and safety. Maximum operational safety is also ensured by photocell sensors in the frame and the special bottom edge.

Traffic CM has a motor that operates at the lowest possible power, conserving energy and prolonging the operator life. It is supplied with 1 or 2 motors depending on its size.

The vertical movement of the door blade is done with lifting belts which raise and progressively gather the different sections in the upper part of the door. The transparent window sections guarantee better visibility and more safety for those passing through the door or working near it.

Energy is suitable for medium and large openings and entrances. A sturdy and compact sup-porting structure, in combination with well-designed and tested motor and components, ensure uncompromising quality. The small size allows them to be installed also in small spaces and their reliability guarantees their use in the most diverse conditions, also where there is wind or in areas with low pressure.

The motor, mounted outside the door, is supplied complete with a manual emergency re-opening device. An optional convenient operation rod can be provided at a person’s average height. The outside-mounted motor comes to the left as standard but it is also avail-able as an option to be mounted to the right. The motor upon request can be equipped with the INVERTERmotion system.

Polyester lifting belts, highly resistant to wear and traction, allow the motor to operate in opti-mal stress conditions.

Safety is also guaranteed thanks to the sequential barriers, a solution specifically designed to be mounted near the vertical runners which can protect the entire height of the door, up to 2.5 m, and detect people, vehicles and objects within the space, without any contact being necessary.

Web Control (Tier 3)

Imagine controlling your docks and doors from your office, reception, security or anywhere else at site. Now imagine this control from any web connected PC! You can centrally control 1 or hundreds of sites and docks with any web browser (even a web connected tablet PC such as iPad if you are on the move).

Prebooking

Booking a slot can be by your own staff where trucks can call in to request a slot or a third party restricted website login is available for freight companies to log in and manage their own fleet and drivers. You can even track site inductions.

Security

In its strictest security sense, you can provide vehicle and driver information to your security team to vet drivers prior to deliveries or at the front gate or lastly the actual dock. Ideal for sensitive government sites or where you want to block specific trucks or drivers from entry.

Communications

Dockbrain can SMS or email confirm arrival times to trucks queued or on approach. This is ideal for sites with peak demand, limited parking or space (eg construction sites), secured locations or temperature controller. By calling trucks as required you can avoid queuing at the front gate and call trucks to your location as required. Right down to the very door they are to dock at, which is ideal for load preperation.

OHS

Dockbrain acts as a link between your equipment register for docks and the required training and maintenance for such equipment. Most notably your staff at the dock level can report service faults as they arise.

Introduction

Introduction

Loading docks are a critical piece of the supply chain by linking your warehouse to trucking fleet. At Leda we understand the requirement for tested, heavy duty, reliable & safe to operate equipment is paramount to a successful loading dock

One or two rams

With two rams you can point load more which you cannot do with some central mounted single hydraulic ram docks. Leda’s docks are also rated to carry the load whether a truck is in position or not. This is critical should the truck accidentally ever drive off.

Operation
