watching movie in a theatre (Frank, 2012). All this has ultimately diminished the business of

several companies involved in this sector as well as has led to increase in piracy and copyright of

materials. The young generations of today are constantly immersed in technological growth that

promotes in nonstop communication and regular gratification it is through cell phones, laptops,

From this it can be attributed that the growth of technology has hindered the social

interactions people of today as it isolates an individual from actuality and it hinders

communication with immediate satisfaction. Advancements in technology in last century have

revolutionized the film industry as well and have majorly effected in a negative manner. To be

specific the evolution and invention of computer technology have transformed the way music is

now being produced. With the advantage of technology the quality of film and music recording

have been enhanced and have helped in the industry to promote and look better what they are

For several people owning a collection of music is not just only listening but possessing a

collection on the shelf and browsing them through vinyl records or CD’s are the sources but the

advent of internet has nearly eradicated this trend in recent time period. Here, in it can be said

that by downloading loads of music we have probably loosed all our collection into a chunk of

data floating in the cloud or hard drive of our computer, laptop, tablet, iPods and Smart phones

(Lessig, 2004).

The addiction of technology has generated in more of isolation and overly dependency on

technology particularly with eBooks, MP3 and iPod which consequently produces in negative

impact and over obsession. One of the leading problem for the film industry caused with the

advent of internet is downloading, which has reduced market of this sector and people prefer in

to watch on their personal laptops and computers (Weare, 2004). All this has led to increased

piracy of movies which is considerably affecting film industry. Development in technology have

also greatly affected specific sector of film industry where in many business units have been

forced to shut demand as there is no demand in the market.

In this respect different books and newspaper agencies have been severely hit with

technological attributes as people now a day’s easily read diverse books on eBooks and Kindle

that has decreased the percentage of lay off of publication houses and newspaper agencies.

People do not purchase music on any store because MP3 files are readily available on internet

that causes in shut down of music store chains and industry have been hit severely with

decreased sales level. Above all technology also negatively impacts an individual’s physical

health that can be sometimes disastrous (Ozsomer and Cavusgil, 2000). In this new global world

the ability to purchase a single song have taken away the requirement to purchase an album for

only one or two songs, the days are gone when customers have to purchase a CD or DVD as now

they get it through iTunes or Suit & Tie. With this the older music approaches are at risk which

is becoming obsolete in the growing sector of music produced in today (Sigismondi, 2011).

Here, in to conclude it can be said that although numerous technologies have made our

lives easy and can accomplish any of the work being in any corner of world through internet, but

the negative impact of numerous technologies are too wide that reflects our daily lives.

Gradually we are losing in the traditional trend on every sector and one of them is the films,




books and music for which people in earlier days used to seek in from numerous sources in order

to make a collection, listen or read for one single time (Bajgoric, 2006). But initiation of online

sources has eradicated the value of these things and people today don’t even consider these

things any valuable or optimum product. The advancement of technology has negatively

influenced because it detaches individual from what is being happening all around that obstructs

communication. Technology has brought in numerous techniques with the help of which work

becomes easy but maximum of youth who are consistently being involved in technological

gadgets spend less time with their loved ones and feels depressed that ultimately impacts on the

mental peace of these people (Cantrell, 2013).
