Violent computer games have long been popular with many children and teenagers and
have tend to create a serious problems because children develop anti-social behaviour and
disconnect them from reality. Its affects are negative rather than being the positive ones. This
tends to create social violence and behaviour change such as bullying and physical fighting.
It has promoted violence as a normal behaviour among children and increased the feelong
of aggression regardless of their sex over exposure to violent images among the children and
teenagers who play these video games associate themselves with the character and behaves in
that manner and forcing them to practice the same in real life (Kutner, 2008). It has created
addiction among the players which like impossible to let them withdraw from playing.
According to news, a 19-year old boy skipped from the school and had short tempered outbursts
towards his parents who restricted him from playing a violent video game.
These violent video games are the murderers of innocence of the children as these games
tend to corrupt their minds and spread negativity in their brains. Whenever a kid loses in the
game, he gets highly disheartened and undertakes many depressing incidents like fighting with
friends, bullying them, criminal assault, homicide, etc (Thomas, 2005). It does not tend to spread
happiness rather forces the children to stress their brains and keep thinking about games causing
pre-existing mental health problems. Games such as Grand Theft Auto, Halo, and Mortal
Combat caused high-risks amongst teens and the symptoms of depression and attention deficit
disorder were seen amongst the children (Wolock, 2004).
Despite of the fear of the fact that these violent video games have instigated horrific
behaviour in the teens to take innocent lives, the found evidence does not support the trepidation.

Teens spend their free time in playing video games rather going out in open so that they can
develop their physical as well as mental strength which is essential for their growth. These video
games are detrimental to their minds and society since the child is exposed to aggressive
behaviour in the games they play. Videogames decreases the thoughtful behaviour and tends to
create a feeling of empathy among others. These violent video games lower down the self-
esteem and promotes the anti-social friendship groups and tends to create insecure family life.

Thus regardless of the numerous concerns about the violence and change in human
behaviour especially in children, no serious steps have been taken to reduce its effects although
few modifications and up gradations have been made in the games to reduce its real life affects
and even parents and society jointly works to let their children play such games occasionally.
Thus violent video games are most likely strengthening violence rather than creating by
giving over whelming urge amongst teens to associate them with the game.
