DJ Mag DJ Mag I will look at the house style linking the front page with the contents page
Front Cover and Contents Page
Front Page0 The front page has an
arrangement of “Smiley Faces” which are part of the main image on the front cover with the main cover line being “Reasons to be cheerful”
0 They have also used blocking to make the cover lines more visible for the viewer
0 The main colour scheme for the front cover is yellow, red and white
Contents Page
0 The contents page is split up into five sections, Features, Up front, AAA (Access all areas), Music and Tech
0 The main colours featured in the contents page are yellow black and white which is similar to the front cover
“Smiley Faces”0 The smiley faces are
used both on the front page and the top left of the contents page, this helps tie in both the front page and contents page well and you can tell that they are from the same magazine
Colour Scheme0 The colour scheme used on both the
contents page and the contents page is similar. The predominant colour on both pages is white and yellow with the contents page having a small amount of black blocking. The contents page has been split up into two halves whereby the colours are different
Linking of Coverlines0 The coverlines on the front
cover have been linked and featured on the contents page in the same way, The phrase “Reasons to be Cheerful” is placed both on the contents page and the front cover
0 The have also placed a summary of the article under all of the main features in the magazine
Headers
0 DJ Mag have use headers in both the contents page and the front cover, this use of headers helps keep a good consistent house style and makes the layout of both pages look similar.
0 The headers also give the reader a little bit of extra information about what is on the page and the advertising of a free CD on the front page may entice the reader to buy this magazine
