School could be considered similar to that of a huge brick wall! For students with a diverse background, they may struggle to understand the concepts and context of school, literacy and all else associated with it.2what ??? Huh???Students of a diverse background, in particular, Aboriginal Torres Strait Island (ATSI), English as a Second Language (ESL), English as an Additional Language/Dialect (EAL/D) and students with disabilities will struggle in mainstream learning if no extra support is provided. WHAT and HUH = confused, scared, HELP!

HELP and extra support and understanding is desperately needed for students of a diverse background.Source government funding = extra internal support, learning devices for individual needs.3As an effective teacher, what can I do to help?Implement strategies to assist and support learnersHave understanding, patience and compassionBe knowledgeable, confident and competentSources reputable and authentic resources
