2. INSTALLATION

The CARDIOPRIME multifunction appliance comes from the factory configured according to the voltage of each

country and is ready to work as soon as it is unwrapped.

2.1. LOCATION AND ENVIRONMENT

o Stand the appliance on a flat, level surface where it is firmly supported. This is essential for it to function

correctly.

o Make sure that there is no interference within a radius of 70 cm (28”) around the appliance that could

affect height measurement.

o Don’t expose the appliance to direct sunlight.

o Avoid placing the appliance in places exposed to vibrations or close to heat sources.

WARNING: Do not position the equipment so that it is

difficult to disconnect the main switch.

2.2. STARTING UP THE APPLIANCE

(1) Connect the device to mains using the mains lead. The outlet must be grounded. Ungrounded adapters

should not be used.

DANGER: To avoid the risk of electric shock, this equipment must be connected to a mains supply with

protective ground.

(2) Check that there aren’t any objects on the platform of the appliance.

(3) Turn on the switch located on the lower part.

(4) At that time, the appliance will test itself (1 to 2 minutes)

(5) Stay away from the appliance so that you don’t interfere with it setting its weight and height systems to

zero.

(6) If the self-testing finishes correctly, the stand-by screen appears.

3. OPERATION

After the appliance is turned on, the stand-by screen appears. This means that the scale has calibrated itself

correctly and is ready to be used.

3.1. PUBLICITY

While the scale is not in use (stand-by), the screen plays the publicity that is configured (images or video).

Otherwise, a screen appears with the time and date.

3.2. START

Get on the platform or touch the screen to show the starting screen:

o Press the [LANGUAGE] button with the Earth symbol to choose a language other than the current one

o Press the [AUDIO] button to activate/deactivate the appliance’s audio messages

NOTE: To show the [LANGUAGE] and [AUDIO] buttons, you must activate the MULTILANGUAGE and AUDIO flags.

3.2.1. Warnings

3 types of warnings are shown on the starting screen:

NO PAPER This indicates that the printer doesn’t have paper and can’t print result tickets.

The warning disappears automatically when the sensor detects paper.

TECHNICAL

SERVICE

This indicates an error in the appliance’s operation. Contact the technical service or see

“Failures” on the appliance’s Setting menu.

The warning disappears when the incidents are deactivated in the Failures menu.

WIFI Reports a problem with the wireless connection.

It indicates that the barcode reader is activated. You can scan the

barcode of your CardioPrime card at any time.

3.2.2. Selection of measurements

(1) Press the button that corresponds to the measurement you wish to perform, choosing from the options on

the starting screen

(2) Enter the amount indicated on the screen that appears after that

(3) When you reach the programmed price, the measuring process is activated automatically, without the need

to press any button.

NOTE: If you select the Vascular Health measurement, a warning about the non-recommended use of the

measurement will appear. If you choose to continue, the screen to pay the programmed amount will appear.

3.2.3. Use of the CARDIOPRIME cards

CARDIOPRIME cards are used to identify the users who use the service to track their results on the website

www.cardioprime.net. Through this service, the measurements of users who have been identified are

automatically sent to their account, and this way they can monitor their progress.

o If you have a CARDIOPRIME card, you can scan the barcode at any time before starting the

measurements.

o There will always be a reminder screen so that you identify yourself, but if you press [NEXT] without

having done so, you will not have another opportunity to do it later.

o If the barcode reader isn’t activated or you don’t have the actual card, press [ENTER] to enter your code

manually.

3.2.4. Sex and age

As part of the measurement process, you will be asked to select your sex and enter your age. This information is

especially relevant in the following cases:

o Calculation of the results of the Body Fat Index

o Weighing

o Calculation of Cardiac Risk

If you don’t want to enter this information, wait until the next screen appears. You will be able to continue with the

measurements, but you should pay attention to the limitations mentioned above.

3.3. WEIGHT AND HEIGHT

o Before starting the measurements, the instructions regarding the correct posture to take (get on the

platform, stand up straight) appear on the screen.

o After a few seconds, the measurements are made automatically.

o When the measurements are finished, the values obtained appear on the screen, as well as the Body Mass

Index (BMI)

IMPORTANT: If you don’t follow the instructions, the result of the measurement could be altered.

NOTE: If the appliance detects an error in the height measurement or the HEIGHT flag is OFF, a screen appears to

enter the height manually.

3.3.1. Weighing children and teenagers

When users enter an age between 2 and 19 years old, the obtained results of WEIGHT and HEIGHT are shown on a

chart of percentiles.

The percentile graphics are different for men and women.

The graphics can also be different according to the reference standards. Through the appliance setting, you can

choose between WHO or CDC (United States) standards.

Children’s and teenagers’ tickets

o Children’s and teenagers’ tickets include a table of the most common percentiles, with their reference

BMI.

o The table that appears on the ticket corresponds to the child’s sex and age.

o The values of the tables vary in function of the standard chosen in the appliance setting.

3.3.2. Use of the baby scale accessory

Preparation and precautions

o Lift up the cradle of the baby scale

o Before putting the baby in the cradle, press the cradle with your hand to check again that it is securely in

place

o While you weigh the baby, watch its movements to make sure that it doesn’t fall from the cradle

Measurement

The measurement mode for babies has the following features:

o The divisions are by 10 g

o It only measures weight, not height

o The appliance puts out a special ticket with information regarding the baby’s weight

To weigh the baby:

(1) Choose the measurement mode “WEIGHT AND HEIGHT” the same as you would with an adult.

(2) Choose the sex “BABY BOY” or “BABY GIRL” according to the baby

(3) Enter the age of the baby in months (from 0 to 24)

(4) Press [CONFIRM]

(5) After you put the baby on the cradle, press [START]

(6) When you finish the measurement, the result screen appears

Baby tickets

o The baby ticket includes a table of the most common percentiles, with their reference weight.

o The table that appears on the ticket corresponds to the baby’s sex and age.

o The values of the baby tables are based on the standards of the World Health Organization.

3.3.3. Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR)

The result of the measurement of weight and height in adult users (20 years or older), can be enlarged with an

additional screen that includes the calculations corresponding to the Basal Metabolic Rate and the calorie

consumption recommended in function of lifestyle.

To show this additional screen, make sure that the BMR flag is activated.

3.4. BODY FAT INDEX

Limitations of use

People affected by the following situations may present a degree of water retention and lower-than-average

bone density, which may cause an imprecise calculation of the percentage of body fat. In these cases the

appliance can’t offer a true indication of the percentage of body fat.

o Children

o Elderly men and post-menopausal women

o Body-builders and professional athletes

o People who have a cold or a fever

o People with edema

o People with osteoporosis or very low bone density

o Pregnant women

o Patients subjected to dialysis

Also, due to greater or lesser water content in certain circumstances, avoiding the use of the Body Fat Index is

recommended:

o Just after energetic physical exercise

o After a sauna

o After a bath

o After drinking alcoholic beverages

o After drinking a lot of water or after eating (it’s a good idea to wait 1 or 2 hours)

o During menstruation

Precautions

Although no side effects are known, the Body Fat Index shouldn’t be used in the following cases:

o During an acute contagious illness

o On people with medical implants (i.e. a pacemaker)

o On people with abnormal blood pressure or any type of cardiac illness

Data entry

In order to be able to calculate the body fat, it is necessary to enter some information in the beginning, which

should be within the following ranges:

o Sex

o Age

o Build (optional, according to settings)

o Weight: from 40.0 kg to 225.0 kg

o Height: from 140 cm to 205 cm

Correct holding and posture for measurement

To guarantee that the measurement is exact, you must hold the electrodes correctly, according to the figure:

VERY IMPORTANT:

o The palms of the hands must make the best possible contact with the device’s electrodes.

o Press the electrodes firmly with the palm of your hands.

The appliance will measure the RESISTANCE of the body using the 4 electrodes. If the contact with the electrodes

isn’t right or you place your hands on the sensors incorrectly, the RESISTANCE value will not be correct, which

may cause an imprecise calculation of the percentage of body fat.

Measurement

o To measure the Fat Index, hold the lateral sensors firmly with clean, bare hands that are slightly damp, as

shown in the instructions on the screen.

o The screen will indicate when the measurement is finished and you can remove your hands from the

sensors.

o Finally, the screen shows the values of the measurement obtained and the information entered by the

user.

NOTE: The measurement of the Fat Index is optional. To skip it, press [SKIP] in the warning before the measurement.

3.4.1. Body Composition

The result of the measurement of the Fat Index can be extended with an additional screen that includes the

calculation of Body Composition. That screen shows the results of Weight and Fat, along with the estimated

amounts of Water, Mineral and Protein, which correspond to the user’s Non-Fat Mass.

To show this additional screen, make sure that the W-P-M flag is activated.

3.5. BLOOD PRESSURE

o To measure blood pressure, it is necessary to put your bare wrist into the appliance’s bracelet.

o To start the measurement, press the [START] button. Otherwise, press [EXIT] to skip this measurement.

o The bracelet inflates until it reaches a pressure of 250 mmHg. Then the pressure starts to decrease

automatically. Starting at that moment, you can watch the graphic of your blood pressure on the screen

while it is being measured.

o The measurement can be interrupted by pressing the [STOP] button

o After 2 failed attempts to measure the pressure, the appliance understands that it isn’t possible to

measure it.

o If the measurement is successful, the values obtained appear on the screen.

3.5.1. Cardiac Risk Test

o If the blood pressure measurement has been made successfully, a screen appears where you can choose

whether you want to take the Cardiac Risk Test. Nevertheless, if you are under the age of 40, you will be

told that you are not old enough to do the test.

o The test consists of 6 questions. For each one, press the button of the corresponding answer.

o When you finish the questionnaire, the results obtained will appear on the screen.

3.6. VASCULAR HEALTH

Limitations of use

The measurement of Vascular Health is not recommended for people affected by the following situations. In

these cases the appliance can’t offer a true status indication of the Vascular Health.

o People with arrhythmia or other cardiac diseases

o People wearing artificial nails or manicure

In addition, the following situations may cause an imprecise measurement of Vascular Health. Avoid the following

cases:

o Move or speak during the measurement

o Move your finger during the measurement

o Exercise or do an intense effort before the measurement

o Smoking, taking drugs or coffee in the 3 hours prior to measurement

o Drinking alcohol during the day prior to the measurement

o Eating during the two hours before the measurement

o Wear rings

o Having cold hands

Measurement

o To measure the health of the blood vessels, it is necessary to put the index finger of your left hand on the

sensor, as indicated on the screen.

o It is very important to put your finger completely inside the sensor. Otherwise, the measurement might

not be precise.

o To start the measurement, press the [START] button. Make sure that when you press [START], you have

the index finger of your left hand inside the sensor. Otherwise, the measurement won’t be able to start.

o Don’t speak or move during the measurement, so that the measurement will be correct.

o The measurement can be interrupted by taking your finger out of the sensor.

o After 3 failed attempts to measure the arterial pulse, the appliance understands that it isn’t possible to

measure it.

o When the measurement finishes, the values obtained will appear on the screen.

3.7. RESULTS

After each measurement, the appliance shows the values obtained.

When all of the measurements are finished, a summary of all of the results appears.

o You can print the results by pressing the [PRINT] button (printer icon)

o If you don’t want to print the results, you can press the [EXIT] button (arrow icon)

WARNING: You should not medicate yourself on the basis of the measurements made with this appliance.

4. SETTING UP THE MACHINE

4.1. ACCESS TO THE SETTING MENU

Keypad access

(1) Turn on the CARDIOPRIME appliance. When the stand-by screen appears, get on the platform or touch the

screen to show the starting screen.

(2) Open the frontal door to access to the printer and paper roll.

(3) Press the back button located in the printer area, top of the printer next to serial and USB port.

(4) Enter the code 2222

(5) Press [CONFIRM]

4.2. ADJUSTMENT

Access to the Setting Menu

(1) Press the [ADJUSTMENT] button

(2) Enter the code 6543

(3) Press [CONFIRM]

The options to which you have access via the Adjustment menu are as follows:

WEIGHT Adjustment for the weight measurement

HEIGHT Adjustment for the height measurement

FAT Adjustment for the fat measurement

PRESSURE Adjustment for the pressure measurement

VASCULAR HEALTH Adjustment for the vascular health measurement

AUDIO Adjustment for the voice volume

RS232 Setting for the use of the communication port

PRINTER Selection of printer and adjustment of the printing density

4.2.1. Weight adjustment

To adjust the weight, follow these steps:

(1) Make sure that there is no weight on the platform and press [NEXT]

(2) Place a pattern mass on the platform and press [NEXT]

(3) Enter the pattern mass value you have placed, in grams. For example, for a value of 20 kg, enter 20000g.

(4) Press [CONFIRM]

(5) On the next screen, you can verify the precision of the adjustment made.

(6) Press [EXIT] to finish

NOTE: It is recommended that you use a weight greater than 20 Kg to adjust it correctly.

IMPORTANT: Enter the pattern mass value in grams or the adjustment will not be correct.

4.2.2. Height adjustment

Automatic adjustment

(1) Press [ADJUSTMENT]

(2) Place a pattern measuring between 70 and 100 cm on the platform.

(3) Enter the pattern height you have placed, expressed in cm.

(4) Press [CONFIRM]

(5) A screen will appear indicating the result of the self-adjustment process.

(6) Press [EXIT] to finish

Test

This option allows you to continually test the measurement of height.

Offset

Due to mechanical tolerances of the appliance, there may be deviations in the height adjustment. To correct

these deviations, if there are any, the Offset must be configured.

(1) Press [OFFSET]

(2) Press the [-] and [+] buttons until you reach the value that corrects the deviation detected.

(3) You can select an Offset value from -5 cm to 5 cm.

(4) Press [CONFIRM] to save the selected value.

Ready

When you adjust the height, the appliance automatically verifies the functioning of the measuring rod.

Nevertheless, if you want to repeat this verification, press the [READY] option and a screen will appear with the

current operation status.

4.2.3. Body Fat adjustment

The appliance leaves the factory adjusted correctly. Nevertheless, if VREF or BF appear with an (X) when you

access the body fat adjustment, follow these steps:

VREF adjustment

(1) Press [ADJUSTMENT VREF]

(2) The appliance automatically adjusts the tension to measure the body fat and returns to the setting menu.

BF setting

(1) Press [ADJSUTMENT BF]

(2) Disconnect the Body Fat wire from the BASE_14 board and enter the resistance that matches the value

indicated in the display into the C032 connector.

(3) Press [NEXT]

(4) Repeat steps 2 and 3 with the resistances indicated next.

(5) When the adjustment is finished, it automatically returns to the adjustment menu.

IMPORTANT: When you finish the BF adjustment, you must connect the Body Fat cable again so that the appliance

operates correctly.

Test

This option allows you to continually test the measurement of body fat.

Delete

To delete all the body fat adjustments, both VREF and BF, press the [DELETE] option and then the [YES] button.

4.2.4. Pressure adjustment

To adjust the pressure, follow these steps:

(1) Disconnect the sensor tube to make sure there is no pressure and press [NEXT]

(2) Insert the tube of the manometer into the sensor

(3) Apply a pressure slightly greater than 200 mmHg

(4) When the pressure starts to stabilize, press [NEXT]

(5) Enter the applied pressure value. This value should correspond to the one read on the manometer when you

pressed [NEXT] on the previous screen.

(6) Press [CONFIRM]

(7) On the next screen, you can verify the precision of the adjustment made.

(8) Press [EXIT] to finish

4.2.5. Adjustment of the Vascular Health

Based on the settings, you can choose between two ways that the vascular health measurement can operate.

o Animation: This shows a bar to mark the duration of the measurement and an animation of the pulse

o Real time: It shows two graphics in real time. The upper graphic corresponds to the signal of the pulse and

the lower one is the second derivative of the aforementioned signal, which is used to evaluate the

condition of the blood vessels.

(1) Choose the option you prefer (highlighted)

(2) Press [EXIT] to finish

If you don’t have both options, the screen will show you the active option only.

4.2.6. Audio adjustment

(1) Press each of the options to hear the different volume levels available.

(2) Select an option (highlighted).

(3) Press [EXIT] to finish

4.2.7. RS232 communication adjustment

The appliance has two RS232 communication ports that can have several uses.

(1) For each one of the ports, select the preferred option, checking that it is highlighted. The highlighted option

corresponds to the function that this communication port will have.

4.2.8. Printer adjustment

The display shows a different message according to the printer selected. The selection of the printer is made

using a C028 connector located in the BASE_14 board.

TS1700 adjustment

If the model selected is TS1700, you can set the density of the printer’s printing.

(1) Press [Printing density]

(2) Press the preferred density option

(3) A sample ticket is automatically printed and the option is saved

(4) Press [EXIT] to finish

MT102 adjustment

If the model selected is MT102, the version must be set.

(1) Select the corresponding version, according to the reference indicated on the label of the printer:

o Reference 0444: MT102 V1.0 version

o Reference 0444B: MT102 V2.0 version

(2) Press [EXIT] to finish

Alphanumeric keypad

In some programming options, you can use the alphanumeric keypad to enter data.

(1) Press the [PENCIL] button to show the alphanumeric keypad

(2) If necessary, press and drag the keypad to put it in another part of the screen

(3) Press the [PENCIL] button again to hide the alphanumeric keypad

4.3.1. Setting status

(1) Press the [STATUS] button, with the notebook symbol, located at the bottom right of the screen.

(2) Check the setting status of the appliance, including the client’s flags and variables.

(3) You can also verify the program version of the BASE_14 (CPrime01) board, the appliance’s version

of the software (EF51), and the serial number.

(4) Press [PRINT] to print a summary ticket.

(5) Press [EXIT] to finish.

4.3.2. Programming the clock

Programming the date

(1) Press [DATE]

(2) Enter the date in the order established (day, month, year), with two digits for each date.

(3) Press [CONFIRM]

Programming the time

(1) Press [TIME]

(2) Enter the time in the order established (hours, minutes), with two digits for each date.

(3) Press [CONFIRM]

IMPORTANT: The format for programming the time is a 24-hour clock. If you want to enter 4:26 pm, you must enter

1626.

4.3.3. Programming the language

According to the settings, it is possible to choose between one or three operation languages (see the

MULTILANGUAGE flag status).

(1) In each column, select the preferred option, checking that it is highlighted.

(2) Press [EXIT] to finish

4.3.4. Programming the price

The appliance setting automatically assigns some default prices. To change the prices, select one option:

COINS It sets the price of the measurements

FREE This establishes that the appliance operates free of charge

TOKEN It sets the value of the token

FREE CARD It sets the free card code

Programming the price of the measurements

(1) Press [COINS]

(2) Press the button of the measurement you want.

(3) Enter the amount desired for the selected measurement.

o As you enter the digits of the amount you will be able to see, on the right side of the entry field, how the

price is represented.

o During the entering of the price, it is not necessary to enter decimal or currency symbols. The type of

coin, as well as the number of decimals of the price, is established according to the settings.

(4) Press [CONFIRM] to save the entered value.

NOTE: When a measurement is indicated with a (+) in front of it, this means that it also includes the previous

measurements.

Depending on the programmed prices, you can unify measurements in a single option.

For example, if you program:

o [WEIGHT, HEIGHT] = 0.50 €

o [+ BODYFAT] = 1.00 €

On the starting screen you see two separate options, one for weight and height, and the other for weight, height,

and body fat.

However, if you program:

o [WEIGHT, HEIGHT] = 0.50 €

o [+ BODYFAT] = 0.50 €

Since both measurements have the same price, they are grouped on the starting screen in a single option (weight,

height and body fat).

Free

Press the [FREE] button to automatically program all of the measurements with a price of 0.

If all of the measurement prices are 0, a green symbol appears next to the button.

Press [FREE] again, to re-establish the default prices of the measurements.

Programming the token values

When an appliance operates with both coins and tokens, it is necessary to assign a monetary value to the token so

that it will work properly.

(1) Press [TOKEN PRICE]

(2) Enter the amount desired for the token.

o As you enter the digits of the amount you will be able to see, on the right side of the entry field, how the

price is represented.

o During the entering of the price, it is not necessary to enter decimal or currency symbols. The type of

coin, as well as the number of decimals of the price, is established according to the settings.

(3) Press [CONFIRM] to save the entered value.

Free Card

You can configure a CardioPrime card to offer free measurements.

Programming the free card

(1) Press [FREE CARD]

(2) Scan a CardioPrime card.

(3) If the card is valid, a green symbol appears. Otherwise, appears an (X).

(4) To remove the scanned code, press [ERASE]

(5) To save the scanned code, press [EXIT]. If the code is not valid, it will not be saved.

Operation with the free card

(1) On the starting screen, scan the free card.

(2) Measurements become free for the next use or until the standby screen appears.

4.3.5. Programming the flags

The flags are appliance setting options.

(1) To change the value of a flag, press the corresponding button.

(2) Press [EXIT] to finish.

The available options are as follows:

HEIGHT Activate or deactivate the height measurement.

BABY SCALE Activate or deactivate the baby scale function.

PRESSURE Activate or deactivate the blood pressure measurement.

MEDIUM PRESSURE Activate or deactivate the Medium Pressure value appearing on the ticket.

VASCULAR HEALTH Activate or deactivate the vascular health measurement.

B.M.R. Activate or deactivate additional information about Basal Metabolic Rate.

CARDIAC RISK Activate or deactivate the cardiac risk test.

FAT Activate or deactivate the Body Fat Index measurement.

W-P-M Activate or deactivate additional information about Body Composition.

ATHLETIC FAT ON: The appliance will ask for the build of the user (Normal or Athletic) to

determine the result of the Body Fat Index measurement

OFF: The appliance always operates in Normal mode

SELECT POPULATION Select the type of population in order to determine the result of the Body

Fat Index measurement

IDEAL B.M.I. TABLE Activate or deactivate the ideal BMI table appearing on the ticket.

IDEAL WEIGHT TABLE Activate or deactivate the ideal weight table appearing on the ticket.

IDEAL PRESSURE TABLE Activate or deactivate the ideal pressure table appearing on the ticket.

CALORIES TABLE

It has an effect when [B.M.R.] = ON

Activate or deactivate the calories table appearing on the ticket.

CALORIC WASTE TABLE

It has an effect when [B.M.R.] = ON

Activate or deactivate the caloric waste table appearing on the ticket.

HEALTH TIPS In Spanish only

Activate or deactivate the health tips appearing on the ticket.

AUDIO Activate or deactivate the audio function.

MULTI-LANGUAGE ON: The appliance can work with a maximum of 3 languages.

OFF: The appliance works with a single language.

PRINTER Activate or deactivate the printer.

PRINTER LOGOTYPE Activate or deactivate the logotype appearing on the ticket.

WORK WITHOUT PAPER ON: When there is no paper in the printer, the appliance still works and

shows a warning on the starting screen.

OFF: The appliance shows an ERROR when there isn’t enough paper in the

printer and this prevents the appliance from working.

BARCODE READER Activate or deactivate the barcode reader.

CUSTOMER CARD

This has an effect when [BARCODE

READER] = OFF

ON: This allows the user to enter the card code manually.

OFF: It skips the step to enter the customer card code.

(3) Then a ticket is printed with the logos available and their corresponding code

(4) Using the [-] and [+] buttons, select the logo you want to appear in the heading of the ticket

(5) Press [EXIT] to finish

Headline of the ticket

(1) Press [HEADLINE]

(2) Add or modify the contents of the heading, according to the following table:

Delete the foot of the ticket

To erase the contents of the 24 lines of the foot of the ticket press [ERASE]. A green symbol will appear next to

the button, confirming the operation.

4.3.7. Programming the advertising

Prepare the importing of publicity files

(1) In a USB stick, create a “DAVI” folder

(2) Inside the “DAVI” folder, create a “Publicity” folder

(3) Inside the “Publicity” folder, create the “Logo”, “Banner”, “Screen” and “Video” folders

(4) Copy the publicity files into the corresponding directory, according to the following table:

IMPORTANT: The files should have the name specified in order to be valid.

Import the publicity files

(1) Press [BANNERS], [STANDBY], or [DISPLAY LOGOTYPE] to import the files to the corresponding category.

o Additionally, in the STANDBY category, press the [SHOW] button to choose what type of publicity you

want to import; IMAGES or VIDEO.

(2) Press the [IMPORT] button to transfer the publicity files.

(3) Insert the USB stick in the port behind the front door of the appliance, as indicated on the screen.

(4) Press [START] to start the importation. Otherwise, press [EXIT]

(5) When the appliance finishes importing the files, a confirmation will appear on the screen, showing a green

symbol. If the importation were to fail, an (X) would appear.

Banners

Show

o Press the [SHOW] button to activate/deactivate the display of the banners in the results.

Visualize

o Press the [VISUALIZE] button to see the imported banners.

o Press [NEXT] to go on to the next banner.

o Press [EXIT] to finish

If a gray (X) appears in the area where the banner should appear, it means that the file isn’t there. In this case, the

corresponding result screen will appear without publicity.

Standby

Show

o Press the [SHOW] button to choose the status of the appearance and the type of publicity that you want

to show when the appliance is idle.

OFF Deactivate the appearance of the publicity while the appliance is idle. In its place a screen

appears that shows the time and the date.

IMAGES It activates the publicity images. When the appliance is resting, it plays a sequence with the

imported images as a screensaver.

VIDEO It activates the publicity video. When the appliance is resting, it plays the imported video as

a screensaver.

Frequency

When you activate the publicity images, an option appears that allows you to establish the time between one

image and the next. By default this time is 5 seconds.

o Press the [FREQUENCY] button

o Enter the value you want.

o Press [CONFIRM] to save the new frequency.

Video volume

When you activate publicity video, an option appears that allows you to establish the volume while it is playing.

The video volume is independent of the volume of the appliance’s audio messages.

o Press the [VIDEO VOLUME] button

o Select an option (highlighted)

o Press [EXIT] to finish

Logo display

To delete an imported logo, press the [ERASE] button.

IMPORTANT: If we change the BASE_14 board it is very important to reprogram the serial number.

4.3.9. Programming the accounting

Shop number and location

The shop number and location are used to identify the accounting tickets of different pieces of appliances.

(1) Press the [SHOP] or [LOCATION] button

(2) Enter the shop number or the appliance location, according to the option chosen

(3) Press [CONFIRM] to save the information

(4) Press [EXIT] to finish without saving changes

Collection

(1) Press the [COLLECTION] button

(2) Enter the password 6543

(3) Press [CONFIRM]

The takings menu has the following options:

FULL TICKET Press to print a complete accounting ticket

TICKET WITHOUT COINS Press to print an accounting ticket, excluding the price of the measurements and the

amount of the collection

DELETE PARTIAL Press to reset the partial accounting values (between two dates)

DELETE TOTAL Press to reset all accounting values

EXPORT Press to send the accounting information through a RS232 port.

IMPORTANT: You must configure the communication port as AUX_0 and/or AUX_1.

4.3.14. Delete RAM

This option resets all of the total and partial counters and sets all of the programmable fields at their default

values (time, date, publicity, ticket, prices, etc.).

(1) Press [DELETE RAM]

(2) Enter the code 0000

(3) Select the country to load your default settings

(5) If you have deleted successfully, a green confirmation symbol will appear

4.4.1. Weight test

(1) Make sure that there no weight on the platform

(2) Press [WEIGHT]

(3) Place different mass values on the platform and check that the mass value matches the appliance’s reading.

On one side, the screen shows the weight value in divisions of 1 g. On the other side, it shows the value as it

appears on the screen, in divisions of 100 g. It also shows the equivalent in pounds.

4.4.2. Height test

Place on the platform an object of known height and check that it matches the appliance’s reading.

4.4.3. Fat test

Place a pattern resistance with a known value in the C032 connector of the BASE_14 and check that the

resistance value matches the appliance’s reading, with a tolerance of +/-3 Ohms.

4.4.4. Static pressure test

Apply a known pressure value with a manometer and check that the pressure value matches the appliance’s

reading.

4.4.5. Barcode test

Scan different barcodes with the reader and verify that the number displayed matches the number scanned.

4.4.6. Vascular health test

This test automatically checks the communication with the vascular health sensor board. If it is correct, a green

symbol will appear. Otherwise, an (X) appears.

4.4.7. Communications test

This test automatically checks the RS232 and GSM communication status. If it is correct, a green symbol will

appear. Otherwise, an (X) appears.

RS232 test

(1) Press [RS232]

(2) Make a jumper on the connector that you want to test and hold for about 10 seconds.

(3) If the test is successful, a green symbol is displayed over the connector. Even if you remove the jumper from

the connector, the symbol will remain active until you exit the test.

(4) You can perform the same operation with the other connectors indicated on the screen, regardless of the

order.

(5) Finally, press [EXIT]

GSM test

(1) Press [GSM]

(2) On the left of the screen you can see the value of the received signal (dBm). Coverage is displayed depending

on the value of the signal:

o Under 10 No signal

o From 10-13 Low signal

o From 14-20 Normal signal

o Over 20 High signal

(3) Press [SEND] to send a test message to the programmed phone. If sent successfully, a green symbol

appears. Otherwise, appears an (X).

NOTE: For the GSM test to be operational, ensure that the GSM module is connected to RS232-1 port and set the port

to the GSM option.

Wifi test

(1) Press [WIFI]

(2) On the left of the screen you can see the coverage and SSID value of the connection.

(3) Press [SEND] to send a test ping to the server cardioprime.net. If the ping is successful, a green symbol

appears. Otherwise, appears an (X).

4.4.9. Memories test

This test will automatically check the BASE_14 memories’ status. If it is correct, a green symbol will appear.

Otherwise, an (X) appears.

4.4.10. Printer test

Print

(1) Press [PRINT] to continually print test tickets.

(2) Press [EXIT] to finish

Paper sensor

This test continuously checks the paper sensor status. When the sensor detects paper, a green symbol will

appear. Otherwise, an (X) appears.

4.4.11. Coin test

To verify that the coin checker works, insert a coin and check that the channel number and value of the coin

match the reading on the appliance. Insert more coins to check that the reading of the counter works properly.

4.4.12. LEDs test

The operational LEDs have a button with the name of their function. The rest have a generic name.

(1) Press a button to verify that the matching LED lights up.

(2) Press the same button again to turn it off.

(3) Press [EXIT] to finish

4.4.13. Power test

This test is used to check that the power outlets work.

(1) Press the outlet button you want to check

(2) On the next screen, the appliance will automatically activate the selected item

(3) Check that it works properly

NOTE: It is possible that not all outlets will be operational.

4.4.14. Button tests

This test is used to check that the inputs work.

4.4.15. Pressure cycle test

The appliance will test the pneumatic appliance (compressor, electrovalve, and bracelet), through continuous

cycles of pressure and decompression.

4.4.16. Battery test

This test automatically checks the battery voltage of the BASE_14. If it is correct, a green symbol will appear.

Otherwise, an (X) appears.

4.4.17. ADC test

This test performs an automatic test of the Analogue-Digital converters. If they are correct, a green symbol will

appear. Otherwise, an (X) appears.

4.4.18. Buzzer test

If you press the [BUZZER] button, the buzzer will automatically buzz.

4.4.19. Pressure switch test

This test checks the pressure switch state, which stops the bracelet inflation when it reaches the maximum

pressure level allowed, between 330 and 350 mmHg.

4.5. FAILURES

Access to the Failures menu

(1) Press the [FAILURES] button

The failures warnings are automatically activated when the appliance detects an error in its operation, but they

can also be manually activated.

In order to deactivate a failure warning detected by the appliance, or to activate a warning manually, press the

corresponding error button:

The failure is activated: The appliance will show a “Technical Service” warning on the starting

screen, with the error code.

4.6.1. Wi-Fi network setting

Access to Wi-Fi network

(1) Press [WIFI]

(2) On the appearing menu, press the “Wireless Information” tab

(3) Select the network you want to connect to (it will be selected in

blue)

NOTE: Check that the warning “Notify me when new wireless networks

are available” is deactivated.

(4) Press [Connect]

Then the menu will open to set the security of the network:

Open Wi-Fi network (no password)

If the Wi-Fi network is open (Encryption=Disabled), press [OK] and it

will connect immediately.

Wi-Fi network with password (WPA-PSK)

to select “TKIP” since “AES” can cause authentication

problems, sending it into a loop in which you won’t be able

Wi-Fi network with password (WEP)

(1) Fill in the fields:

o Encryption (type of encryption): in this case, “WEP”

o Authentication (type of authentication): in this case, “Open”

o Network key: Wi-Fi network password

(2) Press [OK] to connect

IMPORTANT: There might be other cases. If you have a problem, please contact your IT department or Service

Company for information about the network.

Once connected, check:

o Under the “Wireless Information” tab

• Status: It says “Connected to [Name of the network]”

• Signal Strength: it indicates the quality of the signal. For proper connection, it must be “Good”, “Very

Good”, or “Excellent”

o Also, if we go to the “IP Information” tab, we will see that we have an IP, mask, and default Gateway.

When you finish checking the connection, press [OK] or [X] in the upper ride part of the window to go back to

CardioPrime.

Delete a Wi-Fi setting

For the Wi-Fi to work properly, we recommend that you have set a single Wi-Fi connection (the one that really

goes to the Internet).

Otherwise, if the Wi-Fi has a temporary problem, the operating system will jump from one saved network to

another, causing conflicts.

To delete “Wi-Fi connections” that are saved but not used:

(1) Press on the “Wireless Information” tab

(2) Press on [Advanced…]

(3) Select the “Wi-Fi setting” that you want to delete

5. MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING

5.1. PREVENTIVE ACTIVITIES

The only maintenance that can be performed by unqualified personnel is the change of paper roll.

Do not make repairs on your own. In case of damage contact the Technical Assistance Service.

If the power cord is damaged it must be replaced by the Technical Assistance Service or qualified in order to avoid

incorrect and dangerous operations staff.

To ensure correct results, the device CardioPrime requires an annual maintenance check, which can only make

the Authorized Technical Assistance Service DAVI & CIA personnel.

5.2. CLEANING THE DEVICE

o In order to clean the appliance, turn it off and disconnect the mains lead.

o Clean the body of the appliance using only a slightly damp soft cloth.

o Do not use gasoline or any similar solvent product.

5.3. CLEANING OF THE SCREEN

Clean the touch-screen regularly, using non-abrasive cleaning products specifically for this purpose.

5.4. CLEANING OF THE BRACELET

o Clean the bracelet using a cloth soaked in a mixture of water and a neutral detergent.

o To dry it, use a dry cloth.

5.5. CHANGING THE PAPER

(1) Open the front door.

(2) Replace the roll of paper with a new one.

(3) Make sure that the orientation of the paper is

correct, according to the figure.

(4) Put the end of the paper close to the lower part of

the roller, as in the figure.

(5) The paper sensor will automatically put it in

through the roll.

(6) Make sure that the paper has been introduced

thought the cutter, if not take off the paper and

repeat process from point (4).

(7) Press once the feed paper button located top

right position as shown in the figure to cut the

remaining paper.

(8) The printer is ready. Close the front door.

5.6. APPLIANCE REMOVAL

Never throw the product away with domestic waste. When you want to get rid of

it, take it to a proper dumping site. If you don’t know where the closest one is, ask

your city hall. The wrapping of this product is recyclable; place it in a container for

paper and cardboard.

The symbol of the container with the cross means that when the appliance is no

longer useful, it must be taken to the proper waste removal spot, and it will not be

handled as urban waste.

6. RECORDING BASE_14D

There are two possible ways to record the BASE_14D, from a PC and directly from Cardioprime.

6.1. RECORDING FROM PC

To record the BASE_14D you must have a PC and the DAVIFlash program.

This program doesn’t require installation. This is a folder provided by DAVI & CIA and contains the following files:

IMPORTANT: the DAVIFlash program requires NET Framework

6.1.1. Location of the files

DAVI & CIA supplies distributors with the files necessary to record the BASE_14D.

The files, in BIN format, should be located in the Flash folder (inside the DAVIFlash program directory), prior to

starting the recording process.

IMPORTANT: The recording files have a suffix and an extension _1.bin or _2.bin corresponding to the number of the

flash that is recorded. Don’t change the name of the files, as this will prevent the recording process

(3) Connect the wire provided by DAVI & CIA to the CO44 connector of the BASE_14D. Connect the other end

to the PC.

(4) Turn on the scale

(5) On your PC, run the DAVIFlash.exe program

(6) In DAVIFlash, select the serial port where the scale is connected

(7) On the scale, choose the option 1> FLASH

(8) On the next screen, choose the option 1> TEST COMMS

(9) Check that the word RESET appears in the window of the DaviFlash program

a) If it appears, press START

b) If it doesn’t appear, press STOP and select the option 1> TEST COMMS again

c) If there is no communication after 3 tries, check the connections

(10) Once the communication test has been performed successfully, select the option 2> PROGRAM FLASH

(11) Select the option that corresponds to the flash that you want to record

(12) Press [START] to start the recording. The recording process lasts about 10 minutes per flash

(13) When the recording process is finished, the message “END FLASH PROGRAM” appears

(14) Press STOP to exit.

(15) Turn off the scale, disconnect the serial cable and put the SW3.1 switch back in the OFF position.

6.2. RECORDING FROM CARDIOPRIME

6.2.1. Location of the files

The files are already saved in the system.

Note: If the BASE_14D has been replaced and there are no files stored, DAVI & CIA supplies the files, you must

have the DAVIFlash program in a external USB memory.

6.2.2. Recording process

(1) Turn off the scale

(2) Put the SW3.1 switch of the BASE_14D board in the ON position

(3) Turn on the scale

(4) DAVIFlash runs automatically and checks the communication state

(5) Wait until the communication is ready

Note: if communication fails, please turn off the scale and go back to step (2) , all the cables must be well

assembled. If the problem remains, please contact our Technical Assistance Department.

(6) Start the recording process by:

a) Choose FLASH MENÚ to record the files

i) Select the option that corresponds to the flash that you want to record

ii) Wait until the data is sent

iii) Press CORRECT to finish the recording

iv) Press INCORRECT if the recording has failed and go back to step (1)

b) If there are no files stored in the system, choose IMPORT FILES

i) Connect the USB memory in the corresponding slot

ii) Choose START to import the files

iii) Choose FLASH MENÚ to record the files

iv) Select the option that corresponds to the flash that you want to record

v) Wait until the data is sent

vi) Press CORRECT to finish the recording

vii) Press INCORRECT if the recording has failed and go back to step (1)

7.4 NORMAL USE

For all measurements, the patient is the operator of the equipment provided.

WARNING: The wheels of equipment should not touch the ground during normal use. Raise and level using the

four adjustable legs.

7.4.1 Weight and height

The patient onto the platform and the device measures

your weight and height.

During measurement, you should stand straight and not

move.

7.4.2 Body fat index

The patient holds the side handles of the team, ensuring

that the palm is in contact with the two electrodes of each

handle. Thus, the equipment can measure the body

impedance and the estimation Body fat index.

7.4.3 Blood Pressure

The patient introduces the wrist of the left arm in the air

cuff. After pressing [START], wait to complete the

process of inflating and deflating the armband to measure

your blood pressure using the oscillometric method.

During this process you should not speak or move.

9. CERTIFICATE OF GUARANTEE

We guarantee a one-year warranty starting from the date of purchase. The warranty covers damage that may

occur as a consequence of normal operation or due to manufacturing defects.

Mobile pieces such as wires, power appliance, etc. are excluded. Faults falling within the guarantee period shall be

rectified free of charge upon presentation of the purchase receipt for the appliance. No other rights can be taken

into consideration.

Return shipment is at the customer's expense if the appliance is anywhere other than at the customer's

headquarters.

In the event of damage during shipment, guarantee rights will be granted only if the appliance is shipped in the

original packaging. You are therefore recommended to keep the original packaging.

Following expiry of the guarantee period, all services requested will be dealt with by our specialist technicians at

the user's expense.
