Director of Real Estate & Community Development Centre for Digital Media, Great Northern Way Campus Ltd.

The Role The Director of Real Estate & Community Development is the key individual on our senior management team responsible for advancing real estate & community development projects. Reporting to the President, the Director oversees all aspects of Real Estate, with specific duties including:

! Performing business analyses to assess risks and financial implications of land and property developments. ! Overseeing deliverables related to negotiations and settlement for land transaction legal agreements,

including Purchase and Sale Agreements and City Subdivision/Servicing Agreements; and obtaining related approvals.

! Communicating with (via presentation and written memo) our Committees, and Board, Shareholders and Government staff to keep all parties informed of projects and to seek requisite approvals.

! Managing key relationships with City, private developers, TransLink, Ministries and GNW Shareholders. ! Managing multiple projects with significant budgets. ! Establishing and overseeing feasibility studies, plans, activities and communications associated with

community public realm activations, student housing, properties, etc. ! Recruiting, hiring, orienting and managing real estate development staff and consultants and associated

deliverables. ! Managing external legal team. ! Cross-functional collaboration with all business areas.

The Person The person is a seasoned, bright, analytical and hands-on individual, with a relevant university degree and proven track-record in real estate and community development. The winning candidate will contribute successfully to our creative, fast-paced environment and thrive within the context of our formal governance structure. Excellent written communications skills, presentation skills and negotiating skills are required.
