Product Launches
John Wiley & Sons has optimized the online learning process for a number of their most important self-study courses. The new Efficient Learning™ platform needed a modernized online presence and a content management system to support it. Loewy was provided with Wiley’s vision and tasked to design and develop the new online destination for their global finance products. We made our recommendations for naming conventions, architected the new site structure, redesigned a new UI and integrated multiple websites into WordPress. Loewy is currently assisting Wiley with paid and organic search, online marketing and lead generation.

Responsive Design Equals More Page Views
IR Magazine had been seeing shifts in the investor relationship space and had started the redesign process with another firm. They weren’t seeing the innovation they were looking for and turned to Loewy for fresh ideas. Loewy started by evaluating the existing wireframes and discovered they did not follow current best practices. We created a new site architecture and wireframes that showcased content differently depending on the target device. Then we designed a fresh modern site that made browsing and searching for content easier for their users. We provided teaser content pages to help improve subscriptions and enhanced specific sections to increase ad revenue.

Institutional Investor like most traditional publishers, was faced with the growing challenge of monetizing more of their unique content, retaining and building their subscriber base and delivering content through an expanded array of channels and devices. Loewy engaged in a complex redesign for four of Institutional Investor’s core brands starting with their online journals divisions and culminating with the design of their flagship property. The sites were re-architected with better UI for content surfacing and findability. The brands were given a modern facelift and new user paths were created for monetizing of research, subscriptions and newsletters.

Online Media Kits
Advantage Business Media continuously strives to provide new marketing opportunities for their advertisers. Sponsored content, advertising in responsive emails, ad positions on their product sites and within whitepapers were just some of the new advertising vehicles. What they needed was a better media kit to showcase their offerings. Loewy took a bold and strategic approach to ABM’s online media kit and positioned the publisher as a media company that provides their clients with unique access to a loyal audience. Our new design is responsive for all devices and provides a snapshot of audience metrics along with easy access to advertising opportunities.

The World Bank needed an agency with a strong background in Journal website strategy, information architecture and design for the eLibrary redesign. Our deep expertise with Atypon CMS and our work with clients like Institutional Investor and JOSPT made us the perfect choice. Loewy started by examining World Bank’s unique content and worked closely with Atypon to define the site’s structure. We designed a rich homepage and interiors that surfaced diverse content from their journals, books and working papers. The designs showcased the important World Bank brand but also allowed for individualized institutional branding as well.

Newsletter Monetization
II Intelligence is the rebranded entity for the newsletter division of Institutional Investor. They needed a new design system for their publications to improve continuity and the overall user experience. They also required an increase in free trial sign-ups, subscription renewals and new subscribers. Loewy created a new branding system for the family of publications that provided consistency with unique attributes for each individual brand. Our approach to this redesign was to focus on the entire user experience from desktop, to mobile, to print. Loewy created better lead generation funnels, improved in-site marketing and provided II Intelligence with external marketing campaigns.

Free Trials and Lead Generation
National Journal wanted to capture leads and build subscription free trials through a white paper offer. They reached out to Loewy to develop a lead generation strategy that leverages their email list and pay-per-click (PPC) campaigns. Loewy developed informational schematics that mapped out our lead generation funnel for email and PPC campaigns. Next we developed email and landing page A/B tests that explored options in subject lines, messaging and calls to action. Overall, the campaign proved to be successful with an open rate of over 20% and a 4.5% conversion rate.
