The Birthday Party – Harold Pinter - Photoshop• I chose The

Birthday Party as when I was reading I could really imagine what the main room would look like, I worked with Leoni Osbourne to create this set. Between us we designed this room and found images of what we thought the character’s would look like. This was created in photoshop.

Floppy Disk - Auto Cad - 2008

• We used auto cad to create a floppy disk. I found this programme a lot easier to use.

Oily Cart Design - 3D Studio Max

• I chose to create a children’s play workshop floor, I thought of this idea after the Oily Cart lecture as I think the sphere’s could act as seats for small children and parents to sit on.

Evaluation• Photoshop – I found this programme the hardest to use I found

that there were a lot of commands that had to be dealt with and the layers caused a lot of problems when we were trying to change the wall paper. I think this programme would be useful in the designing stages of a project but I don’t feel I know enough to be able to use it on my own.

• Auto Cad – I enjoyed this lesson and found it the easiest to learn, Paul did spoon feed us the information but I found I learnt a lot and remembered it well. This programme could be very useful for technical drawings as it’s neat and to the exact scale.

• 3D Max – I found this programme easy to use although I found it hard when I had to change the textures. This could create good basic set designs that could then be worked on top of.

• Overall I haven't enjoyed this learning block I’ve found it very hard to understand and follow the directions, in such a large group sharing computers most of the time. I will defiantly try and use some of these programmes in future design projects.
