Student Smart phone Experience

The Digital Learning Application requires users to pre-register to access educational content. To keep the your content secure, a user is required to register directly with your academy. Once registered, the user will receive their login details.

A new user can still view the ‘Inspiration’ section without an account. This section displays content that markets why a user would want to study at your institution. Importantly, a user can register their interest in becoming a student by completing a simple form. Once the user has completed the form, the details are sent to your institution, enabling them to follow up and finalise the registration.

Student Smartphone | User Profiles

The Profile begins with a quick overview of basic information where you can view or edit your profile.

The interface displays the user’s latest activity. For example, the last course they have attended, their score or the latest content they have captured. Through the user’s profile, they access their portfolio. The portfolio is where the user’s captured content is stored.

Student Smartphone | Categorising Assignments

Within the portfolio section, upon registering for a course, VET creates a portfolio folder with that course named.

Sub folders within the portfolio are also created for each course subject. Users have the ability to create sub folders within a course subject folder structure. For example, a user is registered for the Diploma of Specialist Make Up Services. VET creates a new portfolio named, Specialist Make Up Services. Within that portfolio, VET also creates the sub folders units for BSBCRT301A, BSBCRT402A, CUFMUP401A etc. Users can allocate captured content to the appropriate sub folder relating to the course subject.

Student Smart phone | Course Resources

After a user has completed their registration with your academy and received their sign in details, the course they have registered for becomes unlocked within the ‘Resources’ Section.

The resources section lists each course available at your academy. A user only has access to the course with which they have registered. When accessing the resources, a user selects their course, then selects the course subject in which they are registered. A PDF is displayed containing the course subject content.

Student Smart phone | Medium to Capture Evidence

Capturing evidence is important for a user to verify their competency with VET. A user has two options when capturing evidence, ‘Capture Image’ and ‘Capture Video’.

A user can choose to use the smart phone’s in-built camera to take a new photo. Alternatively they can choose to select a photo from their personal camera roll. Videos can also be captured and uploaded or selected from their personal camera roll.

Student Smart phone | Capturing Evidence

Once a photo has been captured, the user can add additional notes to the image via a ‘Scribble Pad’ or ‘Notepad’. The scribble pad enables users to handwrite notes and add comments by using the touch functionality or with a stylus.

The note pad within the Digital Education Platform is a simple text only editor that provides users use of the device keypad. All of the user notes are stored within the course and on the page on which the notes were taken.

Once a user has added in a note, they can collapse the note to just display the note heading. These notes can also be dragged to any place on the page. Collapsed notes can be expanded to reveal the note details.

Student Smart phone | Allocating Evidence

After capturing the evidence and making additional notes, the user needs to select where to store the captured evidence.

A user can select the Sub Folder (created by the user) within the Course Subject (created by VET) folder.

A user can also select multiple sub folders to store the evidence. Once the evidence has been allocated and stored to a folder, the user can also review the captured evidence at any time.

Educator Tablet | Course List

Each educator is supplied with their own unique sign in details. The educator account details displays all the scheduled up coming course subjects and the date the subject is running.

Once an educator has selected the correct course subject they are conducting, the application will automatically collate the list of students who are attending that class.

Educator Tablet | Attendance

An educator has the ability to mark a student’s attendance via the academy application. Within the course subject menu, a list of student names who are attending that course subject will be visible.

The educator can select ‘Yes’ or ‘No’. If yes is selected, the data is recorded. If the Educator selects no, the data is recorded and an alert is emailed out to the user’s account, notifying them of their lack of attendance.

Trainers can even record attendance via a tablet device to streamline attendance & completion tracking.

Educator Tablet | Assessment

Assessments are conducted by the educator. To begin an assessment, the educator selects the student from the list.

A series of tasks are present where an educator has the ability to tick if the user has successfully demonstrated they have completed the task or not. Results of each assessment are recorded with VET. If a student has successfully shown competency, they are notified via an email.

A digital certificate is also emailed to the student. If a student has failed to show competency, an alert is sent to the user.
