• Counseling– Emphatic Listening, Non-evaluative feedback
• Employment– Closed Communication Style
• Exit– Similar to counseling
• Grievance or Confrontation• Group
Additional Types
• Performance Review• Persuasive– Selling ideas or change
• Telephone– Be prepared. Even dress
appropriately, have mirror in front of you and be present not multi-tasking
Interview Flow
• Opening– Rapport (Be prepared and find common ground)– Orientation (Name, why interview being
conducted, end state)– Motivation (If interviewing try to motivate person
to give accurate information)• Question Response• Closing (summarize and explain next steps)
