As far as I can tell, the title of this guide translates to 'Pimpf in Service - a handbook for German young folk in the Hitler Youth'. 'Pimpf' referred to the youngest members of the Hitler Youth, aged six to ten, from 1933–1945 (sources Google Translate and Wikipedia). There follows some pics of a Diana 23 which came up for sale recently on eGun. In view of the date, March 1940, and the initials 'HJ' stamped into the butt, this could be a rifle made for, or owned by, the Hitler Jugend (Hitler Youth).

Garvin, that example is in truly amazing condition in addition to the unique markings and history. Together with the book, what a superb find.

Leave it to the crooked-cross gang to turn even kid's air rifles into something sorta creepy, though!
