Diameter - The width of a diamond
Crown - The upper par t o f a d imaond;
l i es above the g i rd le Girdle - Located on the outer
edge; widest part of a diamond. It protects stone from chipping
Facet - The flat and smooth faces on a diamond’s surface. It allows light to enter and reflect creating the diamond’s colors
Table - The flat facet on the top of a diamond; usually the largest facet.
Pavilion - Located at the bottom of a diamond; below the girdle
Depth - The height of the stone from the culet to the table; measured in millimeters
Culet - The final facet polished on a diamond; it protects the pavilion’s tip
Table Percentage - The value that corresponds with a table
facet’s diameter in comparison to the diamond’s
entire diameter
