Onboard DialysisThe Dialysis Holidays difference

The team at Accessible Cruising are not travel agents. Would you trust theorganisation of your dialysis treatments to a travel agent ? Of course not. We aredialysis co-ordinators who put the importance of you and your dialysis first. Aswell as arranging your dialysis onboard we also take care of your cruise booking,your flights and transfers. We are always happy to answer your questions and todiscuss the different types of cruise options with you. We have many clients whobook with us year after year and we are proud of the service we offer, howeverdon’t just take our word for it - read through the testimonials on our website tosee what our clients have to say.

Dialysis treatment times and cabin availability on all ships is limited and availableon a first come, first served basis. We can accommodate approximately 12-16patients per cruise therefore we recommend booking as early as possible. Also, ifyou book soon you can take advantage of the early booking promotions shown inthis brochure.

Your Dialysis treatments

Your dialysis treatments will take place in the dedicated Dialysis Suite onboardeach ship. You will be looked after from the beginning to the end of your cruiseby a qualified Nephrologist and nurses who are onboard for the duration ofyour cruise.

The dialysis team can be contacted 24 hours a day. Wherever possible yourdialysis treatments will be arranged around the ports of call ensuring you canmake the most of your cruise. Shore excursions are usually offered so that youcan visit the local places of interest. Alternatively, if you wish to exploreindependently you can make your own way or public transport and taxisare available.

Payment for dialysis sessions

Most renal units will meet the cost of dialysis sessions onboard. Please checkwith your Holiday Dialysis Co-ordinator at your dialysis unit. The EHIC is notaccepted onboard cruise ships. Dialysis sessions onboard the Celebrity and RoyalCaribbean ships are charged at $575 (approx £359) per dialysis session. Dialysisonboard Deutschland, Europa2, Astor, Delphin and Mozart are charged at €299(approx £236) per session. The dialysis sessions onboard MSC Cruises arecharged at €335 (approx £265) per session.

Grants

Adults and families affected by kidney disease who are unable to pay the full costof a holiday can apply to the British Kidney Patient Association (BKPA) for agrant.To apply for a grant please contact your renal unit social worker or amember of your kidney care team.

Passport &Visa Requirements

All guests must be in possession of a valid passport and visas (if required). If youare visiting the USA, Egypt, Russia, Libya or Lebanon during your cruise and donot wish to participate in an organised excursion you will need to obtain a visaprior to travel (this applies to UK passport holders - if you are not a UK passportholder please visit www.visacentral.co.uk for current visa requirements).IMPORTANT: The above list of countries is not exhaustive. Any challenges that you may encounterwill be handled to your satisfaction, providing you with a “hassle free” holiday.You will be met at the airport for your transfers to the ship (excluding Southamptondepartures) and given assistance with your cruise check-in. • All fares shown within this brochure are for the lowestgrade of cabin available onboard the ship and do notinclude flights, transfers or dialysis. Alternative grades ofcabin are available, please ask for fares. All prices,special offers, cabin grades and offers are subject toavailability at the time of booking.

• All bookings are subject to approval from the medicaldirector onboard upon receipt of the client’s medicalinformation. All dialysis places are allocated on a firstcome, first served basis and will not be allocated untilapproval from the medical director has been received.All fares shown are cruise only unless stated otherwise.

• All fares shown are per person based on 2 peoplesharing. Single occupancy cabins are available, pleaseenquire for fares.

• Fares apply to dialysis patient and accompanying guest.A dialysis arrangement fee/medical processing fee will beadded to all bookings.

• Flights and transfers can be arranged at additional cost.• All bookings are subject to the operator’s terms and

conditions - please refer to the relevant brochures/website for details. Alternatively we will be pleased tosend a copy to you upon request and/or followingconfirmation of your booking.

• Our currency conversions translate Euros or Dollars intoGB Pounds. Currencies fluctuate continuously, and theseconversions are only approximate and are subject tochange. All deposits and final payments must be madein Euros or Dollars by credit card or debit card.

• MSC Service charge: A service charge will be added eachday to guests’ onboard account.The amount will be 7€per night per adults, for all cruises lasting up to 7 nightsand 6€ per night per adult for longer cruises. There is noservice charge for children under the age of 14. Guestbetween the ages of 14 and 17 will be charged 50% of theabove rates. The service charge is an integral part of thetotal price of the cruise and therefore the amount cannotbe altered.

• Royal Caribbean and Celebrity Cruises Service Charge.A service charge will be added each day to each guest’sonboard account. The service charge is an integral partof the total price of the cruise and therefore the amountcannot be altered. Please enquire for further details.

• The dialysis cost per session onboard MSC ships mayvary for clients residing outside of the UK. Pleaseenquire for further information.

• Early booking discounts/onboard credit offers expire onthe date shown within the brochure. All informationmust be received from your renal unit and your bookingconfirmed prior to the date shown to take advantage ofthe discount. Offer applies to cruise element only anddoes not include flights or transfers.

• Your cruise, transfers, flights and hotel are bookedseparately and therefore does not constitute a packageholiday and does not include package holiday protection.

• ESTA: If your travel arrangements have a scheduled stopin the United States, you are required to obtain approvalto travel, through the new Electronic System forTravelAuthorisation (ESTA). ESTA is an automated system todetermine your eligibility to travel to or transit through

the United States and whether such travel poses anysecurity risk.You will be unable to enter the UnitedStates under the visa waiver programme (VWP) unlessyou have obtained an ESTA prior to travel.You maycheck your eligibility for this programme and apply foryour ESTA by visiting the ESTA website athttps://esta.cbp.dhs.gov.There is a charge of US$14 perapplication, which is payable by credit card. If you haveany questions you can contact the US embassy inLondon at (+44) 090 4245 0100 (premium call rate). If youdo not hold a full British Citizen Passport or a passportfrom another country eligible for theVisa WaiverProgramme, your situation may be different and youshould seek further advice.Travellers without ESTApermission will be turned away at check-in so it isimportant to do this before you travel.

• Visas - All guests must be in possession of a validpassport and visas (if required). If you are visiting theUSA, Egypt, Russia, Libya or Lebanon during your cruiseand do not wish to participate in an organised excursionyou will need to obtain a visa prior to travel (this appliesto UK passport holders - if you are not a UK passportholder please visit www.visacentral.co.uk for current visarequirements). IMPORTANT:The above list of countriesis not exhaustive. Please note it is your responsibility toobtain the correct visa documents where required and itis very important that you check www.visacentral.co.ukfor current visa information as the information providedhere may change. If you do wish to take part in anorganised shore excursion you will be covered by a groupvisa (applies to UK citizens only).

• Please be assured that in the event of illiquidity orinsolvency of the following companies:-TransoceanCruises, Dertour, Hapag Lloyd Cruises and PeterDeilmann Cruises , the travel price paid will be refundedto you as well as any necessary expenses incurred forreturn carriage, to the extent that travel services arecancelled for this reason. Dialysis at Sea carry a suretybond to protect clients in case of bankruptcy. Allbookings onboard MSC Cruises are protected by APS(French trade association of solidarity of tourism) andSNAV (French national trade union of travel agencies).All payments are protected by a financial guaranteeprovided by APS and SNAS. Therefore, if any of theabove cruise companies cease to operate your paymentwill be protected. ABTA bonding is not applicable toyour cruise booking as ABTA will not refund anypayments made to companies outside of the UK.When booking and paying for flights, hotels, transfersin GBP£ these elements of your booking will be fullyABTA bonded.
