DETRAN – Traffic Dept. of São Paulo State

Detran SP has decentralized units in all cities of São Paulo State. There are 336 Regional offices (Ciretrans) and 309 Traffic Sections.

The Traffic Dept. of São Paulo State (Detran SP) is a component of the Brazilian National Traffic Management Program (SNT in Portuguese).

Detran SP is: – Responsible for the traffic regulation established by the Brazilian Traffic Code

(CTB in Portuguese) and also by own regulations in São Paulo State. – Capable to promote traffic education and to plan, coordinate, execute, and

provide vehicle documentation and related services. – The department responsible for assuring traffic statistics and manage the

traffic tickets and their charges. – Aligned for achieving its scope of work with quality, efficiency and

transparency, contributing for a better citizenship.

Portal Objectives

Simplify interaction through the internet for the citizens.

Offer public services more quickly with less geographical displacement.

Offer safe access to vehicle documents, driver’s licenses, and traffic tickets.

Supply traffic education - traffic instructors and examiners, specialization in

emergency, buses, hazardous products, and school transportation.

Detran’s Portal started with 30K users (eDetran) and 2 services First architecture had 2 servers.

Today we have 8 physical servers and 16 virtual servers offering 21 services attending 7 millions of users.
