Dr.M.Anandakrishnan, born in 1928, obtained his B.E. in Highway Engineering in 1952from College of Engineering, Guindy, Madras and Ph.D. in Civil Engineering (1960)from the University of Minnesota, USA. On return he joined Indian Institute ofTechnology, Kanpur as a member of the Civil Engineering faculty and served in variouscapacities in academic and institutional development.

From 1974 to 1978 he served as the first Science Counselor at the Embassy of IndiaWashington, D.C. Thereafter from 1978 to 1989 he was the Deputy Director of theCentre for Science and Technology for Development, United Nations, New York. From1990 to 1996 he was the Vice-Chancellor of Anna University, Chennai for two terms.Later he was Vice-Chairman of the Tamil Nadu State Council for Higher Educationfrom 1996 to 2002 and concurrently the Advisor to the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu onInformation Technology and e-Governance. He served as a member or chairman of alarge number of national committees of the University Grants Commission, All IndiaCouncil of technical Education, National Assessment and Accreditation Council andso on.

His other positions include Chairman of the Madras Institute of Development Studies(2003-2008); Chairman, Board of Governors, IIT Kanpur for three terms (2007 to 2015);Member of the Executive Councils of the Central Universities of Haryana, Kerala andSikkim; Member of the Board of Management of National University of EducationalPlanning and Administration (NUEPA); Chairman of the Higher Education Committeeof the Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industries (FICCI). He hasauthored six books and published over 150 scientific and technical papers. His honoursand awards include: Padma Shri from the President of India (2002); The Order ofScientific Merit from the President of Brazil (1996); Distinguished Leadership Award ofthe University of Minnesota (2003); and Honorary Doctorates from Chhatrapati ShahujJi Maharaj University, Kanpur (2010) and Rajasthan Technical University (2014).

Dr. A Sridharan had a distinguished career at the Indian Institute of Science for more than fourdecades, contributing significantly in all the areas of activity, viz. research, teaching, consultancyand administration. Presently he is INSA Honorary Scientist. He has been visiting Professor atnumber of foreign universities including one at University of Karlsruhe, Germany as HumboldtFellow.

Prof.Sridharan is one of the most distinguished Civil Engineers of the country specializing in thefield of Geotechnical Engineering. He is a Fellow of the top three academies, viz. Indian NationalAcademy of Sciences (FASc), Bangalore, Indian National Science Academy (FNA), New Delhiand Indian National Academy of Engineering (FNAE). He is alsoHonorary Fellow of the IndianGeotechnical Society (HF IGS) for which he was also thePresident (1996-1998).

As part of his research activity, his contributions to the fundamental understanding of theEngineering behaviour of clays have been well acknowledged internationally. He has publishedmore than 369 papers out of which 162 are in reputed international journals. He has guided 34PhDs and many Master students. He has h-index of 36 and i10 index of 106 being highest fora Geotechnical Engineer. Prof.Sridharan has presented several invited and key note lectures inInternational Conferences and seminars including one in Italy on Chemo-Mechanical Couplingin clays in 2001. He has handled a number of sponsored projects including a major project onCharacterization of Fly Ash from DST-TIFAC.

Prof.Sridharan has been an active Consultant in his specialization having handled more than240 projects including one abroad. The Indian Consulting Civil Engineering Association hashonored him with ACCE Gourav Award as best Consultant in 2002.

Prof.Sridharan has been bestowed with a number of important awards of the country which aCivil Engineer can expect. In view of his significant contributions to research and Technicaleducation, Purdue University, Indiana, USA, presented him the Distinguished EngineeringAlumnus award in 1995. The Indian Institute of Science has conferred on him theDistinguishedAlumni award in 2002. Indian National Science Academy has presented ThePrasanta ChandraMahalanobis Medal in 2006. The Indian Geotechnical Society has invited him to deliverInternational Terzagi Oration, the highest award of the society in October 2014.

At the Indian Institute of Science apart from his contributions to research, teaching andconsultancy, Prof Sridharan has substantially contributed to the administration of the Institute,as Chairman of Civil Engineering Department (1984-1987), as Chairman ofDivision of MechanicalSciences (1987-1994), as Deputy Director (1994-1997) and as Advisor (1997-2000).

Dr D. P. Agrawal received his M.Tech. and Ph.D. degrees from IIT Delhi in 1972 and 1978respectively. Prior to this, he graduated in Mechanical Engineering with honors from AligarhMuslim University in 1970. Prof. Agrawal started his career as a faculty in the Department ofMechanical Engineering, IIT Delhi in 1975.

In 1994, from being a Professor and Dean at IIT Delhi, he took over as the Joint EducationalAdviser (Technical) in the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India.While at the Ministry, he initiated policies for the growth of quality technical education andcontributed to the development of Centers for Excellence in higher technical and polytechniceducation. Professor Agrawal was the Managing Director of Educational Consultants India Ltd.(EdCIL), a Government of India PSU, where he brought about major changes in the organizationalwork culture including decentralized decision making and transferring functional responsibilitiesto lower executives.

Professor Agrawal was the Chairman, Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), New Delhi(2008-2014), prior to which he was a Member in the Union Public Service Commission since 31October 2003. The UPSC Chairman is appointed by the President of India and is at 9A in theGovernment of India Warrant of precedence. Prof Agrawal has been instrumental inrevolutionizing the working of UPSC by implementing two major initiatives in his role as Chairman,viz. revamping the recruitment process of UPSC by introducing aptitude tests in the recruitmentexamination process and introduction of e-governance initiatives at UPSC including onlineapplication process for recruitment exams.

Prior to this position, Professor Agrawal was the founder Director of the Indian Institute ofInformation Technology and Management (IIITM), Gwalior. Professor Agrawal has been veryactive in Teaching and Research throughout his career and has supervised over 100 thesesincluding 20 Ph.Ds and published over 150 research papers. His research papers have receivedawards in India and abroad.

He has been an editorial member of national and international journals and has been a key notespeaker at various conference sessions. Prof. Agrawal is a fellow/member of a number ofprofessional institutions and societies in India and abroad. He has received many awardsincluding, Eminent Engineer 2003, Engineer of the Year 2006 conferred by the Institution ofEngineers, Honorary Fellowship of ISTE, 2006, Honorary D. Sc. degree of Jiwaji University,Gwalior 2009 and the Honorary Fellowship of IETE in 2011.He is a highly respected publicspeaker and has articulated issues of innovation, quality education, public services andInformation technology for the development of the common man.

Dr. Rajesh Tandon is an internationally acclaimed leader and practitioner of participatoryresearch and development. He founded Society for Participatory Research in Asia(PRIA), a voluntary organization providing support to grassroots initiatives in SouthAsia and continues to be in Chief Functionary since 1982. He was appointed asUNESCO Co-Chair on Community-Based Research and Social Responsibility in HigherEducation for two terms (2012-2016 and 2016-2020).

After completing electronics engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT),Kanpur, Dr. Tandon obtained a gold medal in management from the Indian Institute ofManagement (IIM) Calcutta. He later pursued his PhD in organizational science atCase Western Reserve University, Cleveland, a marked departure from physical sciencesubjects.

A pioneer of participatory research, he has given new meaning to academic researchby redefining the relationship between the researcher and the researched. He haschampioned the cause of building organizations and capacities of the marginalizedthrough their knowledge, learning and empowerment. He has contributed to theemergence of several local, national and international groups and initiatives to promoteauthentic and participatory development of societies.

Dr. Tandon has authored more than 100 articles, a dozen books and numerous trainingmanuals on themes such as democratic governance, civic engagement, civil society,governance and management of NGOs, participatory research and people-centreddevelopment.

For his distinguished work on gender issues, the Government of India honoured himwith the prestigious Award in Social Justice in March 2007. The University of Victoria,Canada, awarded Dr Tandon the degree of Doctor of Law (Honoris Causa) in June2008. He is the first Indian to be inducted to the International Adult and ContinuingEducation (IACE) Hall of Fame (class of 2011). The Indian Adult Education Association(IAEA) awarded Dr Tandon the Nehru Literacy Award - 2015.

Jayasankaran, is an eminent professor of management, and is rated as one ofthe top five professors of management in India under the merit list published byBusiness Standard.Several of his students, mentored and groomed by him areDiplomats, Heads of large Corporations and eminent academicians.

Dr. Jayasankaran is an outstanding administrator and is associated with variousprofessional bodies and High Level committees. As an Advisor to Chancellor inNarseeMonjee University, Mumbai, he has developed many off campuses in Bangalore,Hyderabad, etc. NM Bangalore and NM Hyderabad recently got the prestigious AMBA(UK) accreditation. As a senior assessor in NAAC he has assessed and accreditedmany well-known Universities in India including University of Mumbai, University ofPune, University of Jammu, Symbiosis, BharathiyaVidyapeeth, DY Patil, Pune,RajagiriVidyapeeth, Kochi apart from many autonomous and affiliated academicinstitutions. He has done AAA-Academic and Administrative Audit to Madurai KamarajUniversity, a University with Potential for Excellence, NM University andBharathiyaVidyapeeth. He is the Former Vice–Chancellor of Kanchi University; and thefounder and secretary of the Ramanujan Mathematical Society of India.He also sits asthe Chairman of the IIM Selection Panel for selecting the students for various IIMs.

He is an Executive Council Member of Association of Indian Management Schools,Member of NAAC Inspection team, Central Council Member of Operations ResearchSociety of India, Calcutta, and Member of the Committee constituted by AICTE to formnorms and standards for Management Education etc.

Dr. Jayasankaran has widely travelled across the globe and was instrumental in makingIndian Ethos and Values in Management that consists of both theory subjects as wellas practical aspects like yoga, vipasana and meditation, as a compulsory subject inmanagement department of the Universities as member of the UGC’s CurriculumDevelopment Committee.

He enjoys being with students, and leaves no stone unturned to motivate, mentor andinstil high ethical values in them. He has the wonderful ability to relate to students ofacross all ages, cultural and educational backgrounds. He is a strong orator, and isinvited to speak on a wide array of forums, ranging from fitness, academics, religionand institution building!

He is a member of Board of Management of CMR University and a member of ResearchAdvisory Committee of Sastra University. He is presently Advisor to VIT BS of VITUniversity. A very passionate teacher, he teaches on various modules in Mathematics,Statistics, Operations Research, Indian Ethos, Organizational behavior.

Dr. V. Gopal Reddy, born in 1952, obtained his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees inEnglish Literature from Osmania University, Hyderabad (1972 & 1974) and M. Philand Ph. D. degrees (1981 & 1988) from Kakitiya University, Warangal. He worked asa faculty in various academic capacities during 1975-2012, a career spanning over 37years. He also served as visiting faculty at Atlantic Community College, New Jersey,USA.

From 2004 to 2007 he served as the Vice-Chancellor of Kakatiya University, Warangaland from 2008-2011 he served as Vice-Chancellor of Palamuru University. Dr Reddyhas been closely associated with NAAC and Quality Improvement activities. He servedasChairman/Member NAAC Peer Teams and accredited six Universities and 62Autonomous/ Affiliated Colleges in the states of Assam, Chandigarh, Gujarat, Haryana,Himachal Pradesh, Kerala, Maharashtra, Nagaland, Orissa, Punjab, Rajasthan, TamilNadu, UP, Uttaranchal and West Bengal.

Dr Reddy has organized numerous University level seminars/workshops for thePrincipals and Managements of affiliated Colleges to motivate and prepare them forgoing to NAAC accreditation. Under his guidance, sixteen Colleges were accreditedduring 2005-07.Dr Reddy is well acquainted with the guidelines and parameters ofNAAC and has been serving as resource person for many institutions which include:Engineering Staff College of India (ESCI) Gachibowli, Hyderabad, Govt. College ofEngineering, Karad, Maharashtra,Nagarjuna University, Guntur, MG University,Nalgonda, Telangana University, Nizamabad and Palamuru University, Mahbubnagar.

Dr. S. Satyanarayana, born in 1955, obtained his Bachelor’s, Master’s and doctoraldegrees in Inorganic chemistry from Osmania University, Hyderabad during 1976,1978, 1982 respectively. He has also done his Postdoctoralwork initially at CSIR,NewDelhi, India (1982-83) and later in the United States.During 1989-1991, he workedas Postdoctoral Associate at the DepartmentofChemistry University of TexasatArlington,Texas, (USA) and Mississippi State University Mississippi State, USA. Hecontinued his postdoctoral work (1991-1993) at the Department of Biochemistry,University of Mississippi Medical Center Jackson, USA.

From 2011 to 2014, he served as the Vice-Chancellor of Osmania University,Hyderabad. Healso served as In-charge Vice-Chancellor of JNTU Anantapur, JNTUHyderabad and Rayalaseema Universities for short durations.

Dr. Satyanarayana has been serving as faculty and researcher at the OsmaniaUniversity since 1983 and possesses 34years of experience in teachingand researchin theareaof BioinorganicandIn organic Chemistry.

Dr.Satyanarayana is a Life Member ofIndianScienceCongress and a member ofnumerous Academic and Administrative bodies, viz. Indian Chemical Society,PollutionControl Board, etc. to name a few. DrGouranga Lal Datta has obtained all his degrees, graduate, post-graduate and Doctoral (B.Tech. in Mechanical Engg, M. Tech. in Foundry Engg and Ph. D. in Welding Technology) fromIIT Kharagpur. He had served the alma mater from 1972 to 2009 as a distinguished teacher, arenowned researcher in the field of Production Engineering and an able administrator. He hadbeen a faculty member at IIT Delhi for a year during 1976 to 1977. He had been to TechnicalUniversity at Nova Scotia, Canada for a short duration as a Visiting Faculty.

After leaving IIT Kharagpur in 2009, he went on to join K L University at Guntur, AP as theFounder Vice Chancellor for a three-year term. After that he continued to serve the sameuniversity as its Chancellor from 2012 to 2014.

At IIT Kharagpur he had handled, as Principal Investigator, a large number of projects sponsoredby the Govt of India and Private organizations in the fields of welding and foundry. His researchcontributions (which are more than 250) have appeared in several peer reviewed Indian andinternational journals and conference proceedings. He has guided 16 PhD scholars and 65Master Degree theses. He has authored a Book, 16 Monograms, several Proceedings andowns a Patent.
