Intranet Splash Page Graphic

Client: The Boeing CompanyRole: Summer Intern (Web Developer)

Boeing’s IT department was redesigning the Houston intranet portal and wanted to reinvigorate the spirit of the space operations group, which owned the space station, rockets, and various other joint-programs with NASA. This graphic served as a temporary entry point and was created in Photoshop using freehand shapes, impact type, adapted internal stock photos, and glow effects.

Personal Design Blog and Entry Page

Client / Role: Personal

The blog serves as my creative outlet, which I use to discuss the many aspects between promises made by brands and the user experience (performance) after point of sale. Topics include observations on marketing (digital, interactive), advertising, branding, industrial/product design, design thinking and management, user experience design, social media, and customer insight.

Blog runs on a custom Wordpress installation, using a slightly adapted theme. Header images are from personal photos. Photos in entries are either personal or creative commons photos from flickr. Splash page was custom created.

Social Email Newsletter

Client: Accenture (employed)Role(s): Designer, Producer, Team Lead

The business intelligence practice within Accenture was growing at a fast pace, but leadership wanted to a way to stay connected, keep the feeling of a close-knit group, and communicate key announcements. I proposed, designed, and lead a team to produce a visually appealing and engaging quarterly social newsletter. The format was HTML and adapted for Microsoft Outlook use. Themes and hyperlinked icons were used to encourage user interaction and feedback. Email also served to direct users back to internal social networking and news sites.

Website Redesign Exercise

Client: SensorLogicRole: Freelance Designer (part-time)

SensorLogic was planning a website redesign and solicited entries to inspire their own internal web team. My design focused on their brand, core capabilities(sensors that could proactively prevent issues or downtime with industrial products or fleets), and simplicity. Graphics were created in Photoshop and the theme leveraged the color and tone of the client Logo. Page content took a more corporate approach (as requested) and provided clear offering info, news, and events. Clutter and unnecessary information were removed to create a cleaner and more effective front page.
