The fuels we use to drive our motor vehicles or the water we use daily are limited in nature and are known as nonrenewable resources. We need to make use of them judiciously and save them for future generations too. Recently several buses were burnt and shops were vandalized in Karnataka due to Cauvery water dis- pute. We need to condemn such acts of violence. In the middle of the arson and vandalism one man named Shivanna refused to go with the mob. His act of saving the frightened drivers from the storage room and driving them safely in a container wagon to the neighboring state through the frenzy mob re- minds us that we need to be humane to all people. We at St Aloysius PU College encourage students to become ‘Men’ and ‘Women’ for others in order to peace and harmony. The various programmes the College conducts motivates students to live in brotherhood. Only when there is peace and harmony in our society our country will be politically strong, economically better off and socially united. Hands On Workshop on Techniques in Biology

CAUSE Activities

Twenty two Biology students from Aloysius PU college accompanied by the Biology staff- Mrs Veena Lobo & Mrs Roopa.S attended Workshop on Techniques in Biology on 5th & 6th of August 2016 organised by the Department of Biological sciences, St Aloysius College(Autonomous), in collaboration with the Department of Biotechnology, Govt of India with the intention of popularising Basic sciences and presented about 50 meticu-lously executed experiments.

CAUSE 2016 conducted its first promotional event on 7th August from 4.00p.m onwards in the City Centre. Activi-ties like treasure hunt, food eating and other such games were conducted. The next promotional activity was held on 13th & 14th August at City Centre Mall and the main event was on August 15th in Forum Mall. The proceeds of CAUSE would be donated to the poor and the less privileged.

Industrial Visit for Computer Club Members

70th Independence Day Celebration

Computer Club organized an Industrial visit programme to Infosys Ltd, Mudipu for its Club members on 11th of August 2016. 60 students accompanied by Mrs Mangala, Dept. of Computer Science attended the programme. The HR Head addressed the students on how to prepare oneself to be a part of corporate sector and also conducted an interactive session on techniques to develop a software.

The Parents Executive Committee meeting was held on 12th August 2016 with the agenda -Elections. Mrs. Seema Shenoy was elected the Vice President and Mr Loknath was elected the Joint Secretary.

St Aloysius PU College celebrated the 70th Independence Day on 15th August 2016. The celebration started with the hoisting of the National flag by the Chief Guest Mr Walter D’souza, National Convener of committee on Ports & Logistics Federation of Indian Export Organizations at 8.40am followed by an oath taking ceremony . The formal programme continued in the Loyola Hall and a vibrant display of the culture of India concluded the programme.

History Workshop

Orientation for teachers with 0-3 years of experience

SAEPUC Golden Jubilee celebration

The History Workshop was held on 20th August 2016 at Karnataka PU Col-lege, Mani, Bantwal. The Resource person Dr.Peter Wilson Prabhakar en-lightened the participants about the contribution of Bassel Mission in South Canara, the nature of 1857 revolt and the role played by South Canara in the Freedom Movement.The Workshop was attended by Mr James D’Souza, Department of Arts.

The resource person Mr Dennis Rodrigues, a professional law of attraction trainer, hypnotherapist and NLP prac-titioner enunciated ‘Who am I’ in the form of an acronym which enabled all the participants to do retrospection as well as a prospection. The second session, ‘ Body Language- Learning Beyond words’ was on correct postures, gestures and body movements to be followed during classroom teaching. The session concluded with a couple of pre-sentation on different types of learner’s conscious compliance ladder and passion for teaching.

St Aloysius Evening PU College celebrates its Golden Jubilee this year. The inaugural ceremony was held on 31st August 2016 at 2.30p.m. in the Loyola hall, graced by the Chief guest Sri Ivan D’Souza, Hon’ble Govt. Chief whip, Karnataka Legislative Council.
