DESIGN COMPETITION Imagine it! Design it! Build it! STUDENT DESIGN/BUILD TEAMS WANTED! Looking for a fun way to reach out to the community? Smith-Gilbert Gardens invites you to share your talent! We are seeking student design/build teams to create unique, interactive play structures for our 2018 summer exhibition, “TreeMendous Play Houses: Let Your Imagination Climb.” We need your help to create custom-built play houses that stretch the imagination and engage all visitors—from the youngest to the oldest. We want to challenge visitors, delight them, and connect them to nature—plus, show them something they’ve never seen before. TreeMendous Play Houses: The Exhibition The TreeMendous Play Houses exhibition will open to the public in June 2018, with a goal of promoting sustainability, creativity, and outdoor fun. The exhibit will run through September, targeting prime visitation months. In addition to the custom play houses, all of the design concepts that are submitted will be included in the exhibition, with team recognition. TreeMendous Play Houses: The Design Challenge Teams will submit a concept image, brief design narrative, and construction materials list to be reviewed by our blue ribbon panel. The winning designs will incorporate sustainability, creativity and a focus on the out- doors. These designs will be built for garden visitors to enjoy at the TreeMendous Playhouses exhibition.
