Chumber Editor-in-Chief: www.ambedkartimes.com Ambedkar Times & Desh Doaba Weekly Newspapers USA We are glad to intimate that “Desh Doaba” Weekly News- paperhas successfully completed eight years of its uninter- rupted publication. This could not have been possible without the active support and encouragement of our es- teemed supporters, well-wishers, contributors and readers. “Desh Doaba” has been dedicated to the fond memory of Ghadarite Babu Mangu Ram Mugowalia Ji, who was one of the five members of the proud team of the Gadhar Lehar that was assigned with the herculean task of taking ship load of weapons to India for its revolutionary emancipation from the British rule. The mission, however, got sabotaged leading to the arrest of the team and the subsequent un- folding of horrendous happenings leading to death sen- tence of its members, which was averted miraculously and finally Babu Mangu Ram Mugowalia Ji found himself stranded in an island in Philippine for a long time. After re- turning to his native village in 1925, after spending long 16 years abroad, Babu Mangu Ram Mugowalia Ji was deeply pained to find that the life conditions of his fellow low-castes did not change at all for the better and they continued to suffer tremendously because of the socially imposed untouchable caste slur on them. He decided to fight this deeply entrenched social evil, as he had tasted the flavors of democratic life in the freedom land of the United States of America. He founded Ad Dharm move- ment and built a strong social and political movement of the lower castes people of undivided Punjab to fight against caste system and to liberate his people from the shackles of social exclusion. Babu Mangu Ram Mugowalia stood with Dr. B.R. Ambedkar while showing great solidarity with him during his London Round Table ties with Mr. M.K. Gandhi on the issue of who is the national leader of the depressed classes in India. Babu Ji sent many telegrams messages to London in the favour of Dr B.R. Ambedkar making him win in the battle. His wise and bold leadership of the Ad Dharm move- ment win many battles for the emancipation and empow- erment of the lowest of the low. He secured for his people a distinct religion, actively participated in Punjab provincial assembly elections winning all the reserved seats in the pre-partition Punjab, and giving his people their long lost cultural heritage epitomized by the sacred Bani of Sri Guru Ravidass Ji. It was Babu Mangu Ram Mugowalia and his Ad Dharm movement, which prepared the fertile ground for the spread of the mission of Babasaheb Dr B.R. Ambed- kar in Punjab and stood with him like a rock not till his last breath but with his thought even today. Desh Doaba weekly put on records its sincere thanks to all its support- ers, contributors, readers and well-wishers and seeks your continuous support in this humble endeavor! “Ambedkar Times” and “Desh Doaba” forums send you all our BEST WISHES on the 129TH BIRTH AN- NIVERSARY OF BODHISATAV BHARAT RATAN BABASA- HEB DR B. R. AMBEDKAR, THE CHIEF ARCHITECT OF THE CONSTITUTON OF INDEPENDENT INDIA, THE LEG- ENDARY STATESMAN' MESSIAH OF DIWNTRODDEN AND THE GREATEST INDIAN EVER BORN! Babasaheb taught us the lesson of Liberty, Equality and Fraternity. His legal and constitutional method of resolving conflicts has equipped the world to seek democratic solutions to social, economic and political problems for the establishment of an egalitar- ian order! Floral Tribute to Babasaheb Dr B.R. Ambedkar on his 129th Birth Anniversary Babasaheb Dr. B.R. Ambedkar is fondly remembered not only on his anniversaries but also every day in reference to multifarious contribu- tions that he made in different do- mains of the Indian society during his struggleful life (April 14, 1891- December 2, 1956). He was one of the few highly educated persons of his time in India; not only in his own community but all the communities putting together in whole of the country. It will not be an exaggera- tion to say that even in our contem- porary times; he is over and above all the highly educated persons in our country as far as his higher ac- ademic qualifications are concerned. His pursuit of the academic realm remained intact till his last day as was told by his trusted scribe Mr Nanak Chand Rattu for whom he left his hand written notes ready for typing the same day he left his mortal body. His magnum opus 'The Buddha and His Dhamma' was pub- lished postumously. Trunk loads of his hand written and typed material was collected from varied scattered places/sources by his missionary fol- lowers that eventually put together in 21 Volumes published by the Gov- ernment of Maharashtra. More and more new literature in Marathi lan- guage prepared by Babasaheb con- tinues to enrich the existing treasure of his so far published works. His excellent drafting of the manuscript of the constitution of Independent India is a testimony to his command on the subject as well as the lan- guage. It was his love for the word that he founded four journals to dis- seminate information and his ideas among the people of Independent India, particularly those who were pushed into the periphery for cen- turies because of the social imposi- tion of low-caste birth slur on them. These journals - MookNayak, Janta, Bahishkrit Bharat, and Prabudh Bharat - brought the much desired social and political consciousness among the lowest of the low in the absence of any independent educa- tive agency of their own. This was the maiden journalistic attempt in the life of the downtrodden in the caste-ridden society of India. To fur- ther sharpen the socio- political transformation of the subaltern life in the country, Babasaheb Dr. Ambedkar founded three political parties - Independent Labour Party, Scheduled Castes Federation, and Republi- can Party of India - for the upliftment of the millions of socially ex- cluded people in pre and post Independent India to aspire them become equal partner in the gov- ernance setup of the country. His ace intel- lect based on his tower- ing intellectual achievements and sci- entific approach brought him into the highest positions in the legislative domains of both the British administration and the cen- tral government of Independent India. His deep concern for his peo- ple and principles made him to say good bye to such offices of highest order as and when the time forced him to choose between his people and these offices. The sterling contributions made by Babasaheb Dr B.R. Ambed- kar is not only confined, as is often echoed out, to the framing of the constitution of Independent India and the emancipation of the Sched- uled Castes. His multifarious contri- butions cover as many diverse fields as the establishment of Reserve Bank of India, Finance Commission, Damodar Valley Corporation, Na- tional Power Grid System, Hirakund Project, Navigation Commission, Employment Exchange, provisions for medical leave, Labour reforms, minimum wages, equal pay for equal work , Abolition of Land Alienation Act to mention only the most promi- nent ones from the long proud list. His slogan "Educate, Agitate, Organ- ise" inculcates the value of written word for the awakening of the downtrodden that will create the re- quired social and political conscious- n e s s among them what he innova- tively la- belled as 'Agitate'. Such a socio-politi- cal con- sciousness will help them make concerted efforts towards what the last word of the slogan is i.e. 'Or- ganise'. The intrinsic value of this brilliant and emphatic slogan coined by Babasaheb Dr Ambedkar lies in the fact that any organised body of downtrodden based on sound knowledge of their live conditions will not allow them to sit leisurely until the goal of their emancipation and empowerment is achieved. This very slogan in conjunction with an- other one "Liberty, Equality Frater- nity" will help India, as emphasised by Dr Ambedkar, get rid of not only from the yoke of centuries old rule by foreigners of different races and regions but also from our internal social evils like caste system and Untouchability. Moreover, our long subordination had much to do with the prevalence of such social evils like caste and Untouchability that sharply divided the people of this vast land of Bharat into low and high caste groups, consequently leading to their internal disunity and feeble- ness. Caste is anti-nation, reiterated Babasaheb. It did not allow frater- nity to germinate among the social life of people. Where there is no fra- ternity that multitude of people will come easily under the command of foreign rulers. Babasaheb exhorted the people of our country to get rid of caste as soon as possible if they want to become an independent na- tion. He devoted his entire life to- wards that end - annihilation of caste! If India has to become a proud nation among the community of nations in the world, it has to fol- low the way as revealed to its peo- ple by Bodhisattva Bharat Ratan Babasaheb Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar. The map to that sane way is meticulously preserved in his brilliant treatises available in various languages of the multicultural soci- ety of India. The real tribute to this legendary statesman and greatest ever born son of India is to read his books and to think like him to take India towards the establishment of true social democracy by completely annihilating the virus of caste from its social and political body Prof (Dr.) Ronki Ram Fellow & Dean (Faculty of Arts), Shaheed Bhagat Singh Chair Professor, Panjab University, Chandigarh (India) E-mail: <[email protected]> Mob: +91-9878682160

SUPREME COUNCIL SRI GURU RAVIDASS SABHAS

2150 Crestview Drive, Pittsburg, CA 94565U.S.A

Today, April 14th, 2020 is a historic day which marks 129th birth Anniversary of Bharat Ratna,Babasaheb, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar.

On behalf of Supreme Council, Sri Guru Ravidass Sabhas, USA, I congratulate millions ofhis followers worldwide on this auspicious and iconic day for his mon-umental contributions towards the liberation of the unprivileged shack-led in slavery for centuries.Carping humiliations he had to face all hislife made him a strong voice of the voiceless.

NOTE OF CAUTION: There is a deliberate and a calculated planmotivated by Manuwadi ideology to obliterate the hard earned accom-plishments of Babasaheb for which he struggled till his last breath with-out compromising his convictions and beliefs.

We salute in reverence to this great soul for his selfless and un-matched contributions not only as the architect of Free India’s constitution but as a savior of the helpless down-trodden sections ofsociety. Let us conclude with his famous slogan “Educate, Organize and Agitate” Jai Bhim

Humble Sewadar, O.P. Balley, (General Secretary)

Supreme Council Sri Guru Ravidass Sabhas USA

    Heartiest congratulations on

    Dr. Ambedkar’s 129th Birth Anniversary

Constitutional morality is not a natural sentiment. It hasto be cultivated. We must realize that our people have yetto learn it. Democracy in India is only a top dressing onan Indian soil which is essentially undemocratic.

    - Dr. Ambedkar

    Reflections on Dr Ambedkar’s BirthdayWe are celebrat-ing BabasahebDr Ambedkar’sbirth anniver-sary in a veryunusual way inunusual circum-stances. TheFederation ofAmbedka r i t eand BuddhistOrganisationsUK (FABOUK)commemo-

rate this day in a number of ways atvarious locations, India House, IndianHigh Commission, Ambedkar Mu-seum and at the British Parliament. We also take out a peace march fromAmbedkar Museum to the LondonSchool of Economics where Babasa-heb studied. Because of the Coron-avirus, we had to cancel all theprogrammes. Though the Indian HighCommission celebrated Ambedkarbirth on online and asked us to sendvideo message. But because of thearrest of Professor Dr Anand Tel-tumbde, a human rights activist andson in law of Dr Ambedkar’s son onflimsy grounds, FABO UK decided not

to participate in the official celebra-tions by the Government of India aswe strongly oppose the charges lev-elled against himand his arrest.

Consid-ering all thisnegativity, thereis not a doomand gloom in theAmbedkarite cir-cles. Two his-toric events tookplace in 2020for which we areall proud of. On12 March, themuseum dedi-cated to Babasa-heb DrAmbedkar situ-ated at 10 KingHenry’s Road,North West Lon-don where hestayed during hisstudies during1921-22 at the London School ofEconomics was saved after the UKGovernment approved appeal againstits closure. Allowing the appeal, Com-

munities Secretary, Robert Jenricktweeted, “I was pleased to grantplanning permission for a museum in

London to DrAmbedkar-oneof the foundingfathers of mod-ern India and animportant figureto many BritishIndians. I wishthe museumevery success.”This is the onlymuseum in theWorld dedicatedto any Indianoutside India. Thanks to theFABO UK teamespecially to MsSantosh DassMBE and CGautam and allthe people inIndia and herein the UK work-

ing behind the scene for this monu-mental achievement.

Another significant eventtook place on 6 April, 2020 in the

City of Burnaby, Canada when theBurnaby City Council issued a procla-mation declaring 14 April, birth of DrAmbedkar as a Day of Equality. It ismatter of pride for all Indians. ChetnaAssociation of Canada especially JaiBirdi, Burnaby City Council especiallyCouncillor Sarv Dhariwal deserve ap-preciation for this historic work.

The proposal to declare 14April as an International Day of Equal-ity by Mr Ramesh Chander, formerDiplomat was made through the thenMinister of External Affairs, SushmaSwaraj in May 2015 for government’srecommendation to the United Na-tions. Many organisations in India andabroad including FABO UK wrote tothe Government of India for takingthis issue to the United Nations. Theproposal is still sitting with the Gov-ernment of India and we need astrong lobbyto push this issue ahead. All organisations in India and abroadmust write to the government of Indiato declare 14 April, an InternationalDay of Equality. From now on, weshould also observe 14 April as a Dayof Equality so that it catches the eyeof all people at national and interna-tional level.

April 14th, Birth Anniversary of Babasaheb Ambedkar, As International Day of Equality Road Map to Pursue the ProposalThe birth anniversary of the greatestson of India, Babasaheb Ambedkar,April 14, is being celebrated this yearfrom the confines of our homes in thelockdown imposed due to the deadlyCorona Virus. There is no option. Weare to live with the situation with ourfellow citizens and the world at large.Let us use the occasion to reiterateour resolve to fight the Corona Viruson one hand and fight many moreviruses, like the graded inequality, caste system, communalism etc. in-flicting our society. It will be a befit-ting tribute to the memory ofBabasaheb Ambedkar.

Now I come to the second re-solve – our resolve to earnestly pur-sue the proposal of April 14 as theInternational Day of Equality which Ihumbly made to the Government ofIndia through the then External Af-fairs Minister SushmaSwaraj in my letter ofJune 12, 2015 in therun up to celebrate the125th birth anniver-sary of Dr. B.R.Ambedkar. The pro-posal was duly ac-knowledged by thethen JS (UNES) of theUN Division of theMinistry of ExternalAffairs vide his letterdated August 6, 2015.The proposal was pur-sued with the MEAand PMO with thesupport of other stakeholders. Forum ofScheduled Caste MPsand MLAs headed bythe then Speaker ofthe Punjab Assembly,Sardar CharanjitSingh, understandingthe importance andrelevance of the pro-posal, came forwardand took up the matter with PMNarender Modi and submitted a Mem-orandum to him listing suggestions tocelebrate the125th anniversary of theBabasaheb Ambedkar which, interalia, included the proposal on the In-ternational Day of Equality made byAmbassador Ramesh Chander. It wasa matter of satisfaction that, for thefirst time, the birth anniversary of Dr.Ambedkar was celebrated at the UNin New York on April, 14, 2016. Sar-dar Charanjit Singh Atwal headed ahigh-powered delegation and partici-pated in the celebrations at the UN.In his speech, Atwal Sahib, endorsedthe proposal on April 14 as the Inter-national Day of Equality and solicitedsupport of the GOI, UN and the inter-national community and rightly so. Itwas lauded and appreciated by thepeople both at home and abroad. Onreturn from New York, he submitteda report on May 3, 2016 to PMNarendra Modi and requested himand the GOI to take up the issue ofInternational Day of Equality officiallywith the UN through diplomatic chan-nels. Subsequently, the stake holdersin the proposal, under the aegis of theForum of Scheduled Caste MPs and

MLAs also submitted a Memorandumto Mahamahim Rashrapati Ram NathKovind sometime in 2017-18 request-ing his intervention and direction tothe GOI to facilitate the matter.

With this background, Am-bassador Ramesh Chander, the initia-tor of the proposal, has been pursuingthe issue, off and on, by letters ande-mails to MEA and PMO. He alsotried his best to alert and awaken thepolitical and social leadership namelySonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, AmitShah, Mohan Bhagwat , BehenMayawati, several Ministers, ChiefMinister and MPs like Captain Am-rinder Singh, Arvind Kejriwal, SardarParkash Singh Badal, Ram VilasPaswan, Thavar Chand Gehlot, HardipSingh Puri, Vijay Sampla, RamdassAthawale, Chaudhary Santokh Singh,P.L. Punia, Sushil Rinku, Pawan Tinu,

Pargat Singh, Gurpartap SinghWadala, Lahori Ram Balley amongothers. He also engaged with someoutfits like Federation of Ambedkarand Buddhist Organisations of Lon-don, Chetna Association of Canada,The Ambedkar Times Group of Publi-cations of California (USA), inter aliawhile interacting with interested or-ganizations and societies in andaround Jalandhar like Ambedkar Mis-sion Society , Ambedkar BhawanTrust, Guru Ravidass Dham BootanMandi, Guru Ravidass Sthal at KhuralGarh, Schedule caste EntrepreneursEmpowerment Forum and also vari-ous educational institutions both for-mally and informally to gain supportfor the proposal on International Dayof Equality. The crux of the matter, allsaid and done, is that we did notleave any stone unturned to make ourpoint reach home. But it remained amatter of regret, I must register can-didly, that except lip service from var-ious quarters, no concrete responsecame from the GOI. Everybody isfalling on each other to own Ambed-kar and his legacy in pursuance oftheir vested agenda but has no mindand time to do something worthwhile

to honour the legend of contemporarytimes. But let me hasten to write thatAmbedkar’s legacy is so real and po-tent that it is not easy to ignore it. Iam happy to share with you with asense of satisfaction that the pro-posal to declare April 14 as Interna-tional Day of Equality has seen thelight of the day partially, if not sub-stantially with a pleasant and positivedevelopment on April 6 happened atthe City of Burnaby in Canada withthe Proclamation to observe and cel-ebrate April 14, birth anniversary ofthe greatest son of India, as “Dr.B.R.Ambedkar Day of Equality”. We mustconvey our grateful thanks to theCouncil of the City of Burnaby, thefriendly people of the great city andalso our interlocutors and supporterslike Councillor Sav Dhariwal and JaiBirdi and his colleagues and associ-

ates at the Chetna Association ofIndia for the splendid job done in thisregard. Coming back to the resolve,we would do our utmost to cajole andconvince the GOI and the interna-tional community to consider and ac-cept the proposal on the InternationalDay of Equality in the larger interestsof humanity to bring about peace andharmony by establishing a just socialand economic world order which isalso a cherished “Millennium Goal” ofthe UN. The renewed efforts start onApril 14, 2020 with added zeal anddetermination. Let us join hands inthis endeavor to flag and underlinethe lofty ideals of “Justice, Liberty,Equality, and Fraternity, “enshrined inthe very Preamble of the constitutionof India of which Dr. B.R. Ambedkarwas the chief architect. I humbly sug-gest the following Road Map of ac-tion to carry forward the proposal:• Write to Dr. S. Jaishankar,Minister of External Affairs, SouthBlock, New Delhi with copies en-dorsed to PM Narendra Modi, PMO,South Block, New Delhi.

    E-mail of Dr. S. Jaishankar:[email protected]

    Draft Letter is enclosed as

Appendix to this write up. The lettermay be amended, if required, to suit

the individual needs. The letter may be writ-ten either individuallyor by the organiza-tion/association etc. towhich one may be-long.• We will writeto the State CMs toconsider and requestthem to support theproposal either writingto PM Narendra Modior getting resolutionpassed by the StateLegislative Assemblyof respective states.• Approach andrequest the Forum ofSchedule Caste MPsand MLAs to revisitthe subject and takeup the issue appropri-ately with the GOI andPM Narendra Modi andalso in the Parliament. • Approach andrequest Mahamahim

President of India, Ram Nath Kovindto kindly consider and give directivesto the PM and GOI as deemed appro-priate on the subject.• Approach and request variousoutfits and organizations of the IndianDiasporas abroad to consider andmake a demarche to theState/County/Municipal Councils, interms of local requirements, with therequest to support the proposal on In-ternational Day of Equality as done bythe City of Burnaby in Canada. Myhumble advice in this regard is tokindly engage with Jai Birdi of ChetnaAssociation of Canada, who was in-strumental in facilitating the Procla-mation of the City of Burnaby tocelebrate April 14 as “Dr. B.R.Ambedkar Day of Equality”. • Approach and request ourcenters of spiritual and social one-ness like the Deras/Maths/Dhams/Vi-hars/Bhawans to hold and addressspecial congregations to generate themuch needed awareness among thepublic on the subject.• We should avail of all socialmedia organs to take the proposal for-ward in the absence of any media

Ambed-kar, Forum of Scheduled CasteMPs and MLAs under the lead-ership of the Speaker of thePunjab Assembly, Sardar Cha-ranjit Singh Atwal took up thematter with PM Narendra Modiand submitted a Memorandumin November, 2015 requestinghim and the GOI to considerand make an official demarcheto the UN for declaring April 14as “International Day of Equal-ity” as proposed by Ambassa-dor Ramesh Chander. You mustbe aware, Sir, accordingly, when you were the ForeignSecretary, for the first time thebirth anniversary of BabasahebAmbedkar was celebrated atthe UN in New York on April14, 2016. Sardar CharanjitSingh represented the GOI for-mally or informally with a high-power delegation of otherstake holders in the celebra-tions at the UN. It was muchappreciated not only by the fol-lowers of Dr. Ambedkar both inIndia and abroad but also bythe society at large. On return,Sardar Atwal submitted a re-port to PM Narendra Modi inMay, 2016 informing him ofthe proposed “InternationalDay of Equality” which wasmentioned in his speech at theUN and requesting the PM andGOI to take up the matter withthe UN to get April 14 pro-claimed as “International Dayof Equality”. The report of Sar-dar Charanjit Singh Atwal isenclosed herewith for readyreference and perusal.

    The proposal is resting

with the MEA/GOI. Muchwater has flown, ever since, inthe Ganges. You have gradu-ated from Foreign Secretary toEAM. PM Narendra Modi hascome to power successivelyfor the second term. Am-basador Ramesh Chander hasbeen reminding the EAM/MEAon the subject off and on byletters and e-mails over theyears while also involving thestake holders in India andabroad and soliciting their sup-port to the proposal. We arehappy to inform you (the offi-cial diplomatic channels/CGIToronto/HCI Ottawa might haveinformed you already) the pro-posal on International Day ofEquality has seen the light ofthe day partially, if not substan-tially. The City of Burnaby ofBritish Columbia in Canada hastaken the lead by proclaimingon April 6, 2020 that the Cityof Burnaby will celebrate andobserve April 14 as “Dr. B.R.Ambedkar Day of Equality”. Iam enclosing the Proclamationof the City of Burnaby for yourinformation and perusal. Youwould appreciate, Sir, it is notonly an honour to the greatestson of India, BabasahebAmbedkar, in the contempo-rary times, but a matter ofpride for India and the interna-tional community at large toestablish an equitable worldorder as one of the “MillenniumGoals” of the UN.

With this background,we thought of taking up thematter with you, Sir, and re-quest you to kindly sparesometime and consider theproposal and make a demarcheto the UN to get April 14 de-clared as International Day ofEquality. Obviously, we wouldonly be happy to see India tak-ing a lead in the matter and notleaving it to others.

We are confident, Sir,that our submissions wouldfind due consideration withyou and the GOI.With regards,Yours truly,

support from the national and re-gional media of India. Our media per-sons and organs, however scarcethey are, should come forward to fillthe gap. There is no other way.• Our intelligentsia has anadded responsibility in the process.Kindly arrange, host, participate inspecially organized Seminars/Panel

Discussion/Lectures in schools andcolleges, wherever possible, to gathermuch needed support to the proposalat the grass roots, with the help ofstudents and the members of the fac-ulty and management to motivateand make aware the younger genera-tion. Also pass resolutions in supportof the proposal which may be for-warded to EAM Dr. S. Jaishankar and

PM Narendra Modi either directly orthrough the District Magistrates/Deputy Commissioners. This is notall. There may be many more innova-tive approaches and modes which thestake holder in the project may like toadopt and act. I am not a repositoryof all energy and knowledge. I counton my friends, associates and thecommunity at large. The task is too

    big. We are to stand up unitedly andget the job done in declaring April 14as International Day of Equality in thedays to come. I conclude with a po-etic expression to register our resolve:तू पहले बात, फिर बात का अंदाज़ पैदा कर;फिर दुनिया में तुझे कोई नज़र अंदाज़ कर नहींसकता।

Greetings on the AmbedkarJayanti, April 14.

    Ramesh ChanderAmbassador - I.F.S. (Retired)JALANDHAR (Punjab) Tele:+919988510940 E-mail:[email protected]

June 12, 2015 Dear Madam, I amone among the IFS fraternity. After retire-ment in December, 2010, I have come backto my roots in Jalandhar. As post retire-ment activities, I engage myself in educa-tional and social matters pertaining to thesocially and economically weaker sectionsof the society. I am a dalit and a humblefollower of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. After theGovernment’s decision to observe 125thAnniversary of Dr. Ambedkar, I wrote toForeign Secretary Dr. S. Jaishankar (copyenclosed for kind perusal) and offered myservices with regard to the programmes tobe made and conducted by the MEA in thisregard. The purpose of this letter is tomake a humble suggestion for your kindconsideration. PM Narendra Modi’s govern-ment, particularly you as the Minister ofExternal Affairs, has given due weightageto India’s “Soft Power” in diplomacy. Thelatest feather in your cap is the Interna-tional Yoga Day under the aegis of the UN.With a view to honour Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, one of the greatest sons of India, by cele-brating his 125th Birth Anniversary, theGovernment has taken a right and laudable

decision. It will go a long way in assuagingthe ruffled feelings of millions of poor andsocially backward followers of the greatleader. My humble submission is that it willonly be appropriate if India makes yet an-other proposal at the next UNGA in Sep-tember, 2015 to declare 14th April, birthday of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, as Interna-tional Day of Equality.

You would agree, Madam Minister, that it would not only carry forward the UNgoals of “Empowerment” of the weakersections of the world population but alsoinstill the democratic values of “Equality,Liberty and Fraternity” in the world order. These democratic and humane values weredear to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar and his spiritualGuru Mahatma Buddha, the greatest sonof India.

I am confident that this decisionand action of the Government will be muchappreciated by the weaker sections of thesociety. It will also be a befitting tribute tothe memory and legacy of Dr. B.R. Ambed-kar, messiah of the underprivileged andneglected sections of humanity at large. With regards

    Yours truly, (Ramesh Chander)

    Heartiest congratulations on

    Dr. Ambedkar’s 129th Birth Anniversary

Constitutional morality is not a natural sentiment. It hasto be cultivated. We must realize that our people haveyet to learn it. Democracy in India is only a top dressing

on an Indian soil which is essentially undemocratic.- Dr. Ambedkar

We also congratulate to Mr. Prem KumarChumber for his commitments & render-

ing services to the community and successfully entering into 12th & 9thyear respectively of Ambedkar Times & Desh Doaba weekly newspapers.

Over the past couple of weeks, Ihave had a large number of peopleask me what Sacramento County isdoing or going to do to help reducethe spread of COVID in the home-less community. In early April,Sacramento County and Sacra-mento City unanimously approved ajoint plan that allocated more than$15 million for this purpose, so Iwant to take this opportunity to ex-plain it to you so you can under-stand how we are addressing thisimportant issue. The plan consistsof three main parts:

First, we are keeping our ex-isting emergency shelters safe andoperational and expanding their ca-pacity. For our existing shelters, weare providing guidance and suppliesfor how to keep facilities sanitizedand properly implement social dis-tancing. For six different providers,we have expanded or prioritized thehighly vulnerable. In one instance, the North 5th Street shelter ex-panded to accommodate an addi-tional 40 highly vulnerable homelessindividuals.

Second, we are working toensure the health and safety ofeveryone living outdoors. We aredoing this by providing portable toi-lets and wash stations to homelesscamps with more than ten peopleliving in them. We are also going tobe providing daily support to meetthe hygienic needs the homelesshave, such as hygiene kits. I havehad some people ask me why wearen’t providing portable toilets andwash stations year-round, regard-less of coronavirus. The reason isthat portable toilets at homelesscamps quickly turn into biohazardnightmares unless we provideheavy, daily upkeep. Doing so is ex-tremely expensive, and the moneycan often put to better use else-where to help solve the problem.

Third, we are creating quar-antine units for homeless peoplewho have tested positive for COVID,are symptomatic, or are otherwisehighly vulnerable. We are housingthese people mainly at a few exist-ing motels who have signed con-tracts with the County. Since

hotels/motels have virtually 100%vacancy right now, this is a good fitfor both parties. We are allowinghomeless people access to the quar-antine units based on a ranking, with the top rank being someonewho has tested positive for COVID(which we have the complete ca-pacity for). The second rank is forsomeone pending a test or exposedto someone who tested positive, thethird rank is for someone aged 65+with pre-existing conditions withsymptoms, and the ranks go onfrom there. . I would like to think thatfrom this overwhelming situationthat has arisen, some good may beable to come out of it. For Sacra-mento County, we may be able toconnect more homeless individualswith the services they need than wehave in the past. We are getting ourfoot in the door to talk with themabout long term housing and care, ways of getting them out of home-lessness. Sometimes, that is how acrisis works. It comes along andthrows us into chaos, but it also cre-

ates op-p o r t u n i -ties. Manypeople arestrugglingright now,but theyare doing it from the comfort oftheir homes, while many people, in-cluding seniors and families, haveno such luxuries. I hope we cancapitalize on this opportunity andpull as many vulnerable people offthe streets as we can, for as long aswe can.Thank you for reading – and as al-ways, if you want to contact me

14th April is being celebrated inter-nationally to mark the birthday of Dr.Baba sahib Ambedkar, an Indian ju-rist, politician, philosopher, anthropol-ogist, socialist scientist, historian andeconomist. Dr Ambedkar was born on14 April 1891 at Mhow a canton-ment in the Indore district in MadhyaPradesh state of India, now Ambed-kar Nagar since 2003. Ambedkaralias Bhiva was 14th child of his par-ents Revered Ramji Sakhpal , a Sube-dar –Major in East India CompanyArmy and self respecting, religiousminded Mata Bhimabai. Bhimabaipassed away when Bhimva alliesBhim was six years old leaving hersix siblings under care of her hus-band’s sister Mirabai, who was her-self handicapped. Against all oddsand worst hit by caste supported un-touchability he passed his Matricula-tion in 1907, a first in the history ofUntouchable Mahar caste. Nearlysame time Bhim was married to Ram-abai. With the financial assistancefrom Baroda Naresh , Maharaja SiyaJi Giawad III, an untouchable studentwho received his early educationfrom outside his class room, wentthirsty days long, whose teacher gavehim his name, due to his sincere urgebacked by his continuous hard labour,to get high qualification crownedhimself with world’s highest aca-demic Degrees of B.A; MA; M Sc;Ph.D; L.L.D; D Sc; D.Litt; Barrister-at-Law. Although many a times he hadto satisfy his hunger by a single loafof bread but labored to learnt ten lan-guages including Sanskrit with profi-ciency in speaking seven .

During whole life his mindand soul kept searching and strug-gling for Equality and projecting ne-cessity for Equality despite facinghimself inequality, more so from hisown countrymen orthodox Hindu re-ligious fundamentalists . His fight inall world forums where even he wentand spoke, he was demanding Equal-ity to masses without distinction ofcaste, creed, colour, sex, place ofbirth, economic or family status. Hisspeeches judged as the best of allspeeches delivered in three RoundTable Conferences held betweenNovmber,1930 to December 1932 inLondon attended including worldmighty British crowned King HisMajesty George V with Prime Minis-ters Ramsay MacDonald his Cabinetcolleagues ,British Parliamentary del-egation consisting of 16 from all 8parties. In the First RTC conferenceswere present Indian politicians (58)and, delegates of Princely States(16). This was strength of Ist RTC,with some changes for II & III TRCs.In his speeches Dr. Ambedkar chal-lenged working with fixed prioritiestowards Indian, particularly neg-lected, poor, ill dressed, illiterate, starving masses caught in religiousprejudices . He was addressing to allpowerful British Government, un-crowned kings of Indian politicalleadership besides Indian Kings ,with earnest requests to makechanges in their planning , thinking

and projected priorities to reduceprevailing all round inequalities in In-dian administration. Dr. AmbedkarBritish government to quit India im-mediately as it had failed to provideEquality toher Indiansubjects.

H i sonly concern to meet and make rep-resentations before committees andcommissions like Southborough Com-mission on 27 January 1919, SIMONCOMMISSION on October 23, 1928and many more in India and abroadwere to exress for amicable solution

for removal of prevailing man madeinequalities and ill treatment to hisdown trodden people called Untouch-able. The Untouchables Shudras(Presently called SCs, STs ) had in1901, a population of 5,32,96,636(18.93%) against total Indian popu-lation of 28,08,75,176 .This ex-cluded touchable Shudras ( Presentday OBC’s) population. His main aimin organizing, Mahad water tankprotest march, agitation to enter KalaRam Temple or his resistance to hispoise wife Ramabai to take her to –Vithoba diety temple were to putfight against religious forced inequal-ities and denial of Human Rights tohis people. His burning of the contro-versial Hindu Law Book “ Manusmir-iti” was not for any personal gainsbut to burn publically the prevailingHindu religious ego and caste hatetowards their religious brethren theUntouchables.

His work as Labour member (1942-46) of Viceroy’s ExecutiveCouncil shows his earnest desire tohave equality in working hours andwages for male and female workers. His concern as labour member ex-pressed in Labour Conferences andlater issuing appropriate orders get-ting paid holidays, banning night

shifts for female workers, right tostrike to works on genuine grounds ,rules for dispute resolution betweenemployees and employers establish-ing PSCs, granting Gratuity etc,es-

in 1932 with Mahatama Gandhi tosave Gandhi’s life was to give a trialto forge Equality between Caste Hin-dus and Untouchables. But alas aftersigning pact all orthodox Hindu signa-

tories including M.M. Malvia ,nowBharat Ratna , drank and sprinkledGanga water on them to clean castepollution they got while signing packwith Baba Sahib and other untouch-ables leaders.

A boy debarred Sanskrit sub-ject in school syllabus holding lowcaste tag due to his qualities of headand heart, was made the Chairmanof Indian Constitution Drafting Com-mittee, gave equality to all Indian inall life spheres as the main theme. The practice of untouchability whichhunted whole life was made a pun-ishable act in india.

His attempt to get passedHindu Code Bill in Parliament was togive legal teeth for granting equalityin all spheres of life for Indian womensuffering Orthodox male’s atrocities. He drafted the Indian ConstitutionPreamble, declaring India to be a sov-ereign, socialist, secular and demo-cratic republic. The objectives statedin the Preamble are to secure justice, liberty, Equality to all citizens and topromote Fraternity assuring the indi-vidual Dignity to maintain unity andintegrity of the nation.

When all efforts by Doctorfailed to get reforms on scientificbase his Hindu Religion he decided to

leave it in 1935. He studies all worldreligions and found all of them want-ing to provide Equality. After deep re-ligions study he embraced Buddhismwhich stood for Equality among allhuman. He embraces Buddhism alongwith his over one Million followersbringing it back to its land of birthafter 2500 years.

On his unfortunate death on6th December 1956 and his crema-tion the next date in Bombay ( NowMumbai) another half a Million his fol-lowers embraced Buddhism. His get-ting Bharat Ratna, the highest CivilianAward (posthumously) in 1990 gaverecognition to his fight for rights ofdeprived humanity and his lifelong ef-forts to fight out inequalities peace-fully.

When GOI under PM NarinderModi decided in May, 2015 to cele-brate125th Birth Day of Baba Sahibfalling in 2016 on Government level.Shri Romesh Chandra IFS Ambassa-dor submitted to GOI through Exter-nal Minister a proposal to write ademarche to UNES to Celebrate 14thApril the Birthday Of Dr. Ambedkaras “ International Day of Equality”.This proposal was acknowledged byUNES Division of MOEA. Corona Virus Disease 2019 or Covid-19,commonly known as Corona Virus, isspreading rapidly around the world. Howto avoid this virus is one of the biggestconcerns for everyone. The authoritiesare suggesting many ways to prevent it.People are being asked to stay inside andavoid crowds. They are advised to ob-serve lock down protocol and avoidtouching anything outside. From washinghands with warm water and wearingmasks, there is a long list of things thatneed to be done. But the anxiety of thepeople does not seem to diminish. Morbidly frightened they kneel down and pray.

The Allopathic doctors arescreening people and quarantining thesuspected individuals so that the diseasedoes not spread. Perhaps they do nothave any cure for it except anti-malarialmedicines, or are waiting for a vaccine;therefore they are silent on this aspect. But endless suggestions are coming fromother people who are offering a variety ofhome-made remedies to protect againstthe disease. Many are suggesting fooditems like raw onion, garlic and othersprescribe whiskey and other spirituousliquors. Some are recommending over-the-counter anti-viral drugs. Yoga sup-porters point to yoga exercises as themost effective way to defeat this malady.Alterative medical systems like Ayurvedaproject Tulsi, Chowanprash and Shanda-pani as the sure shot remedies for thispandemic. In this chaos of suggestions, itis hard to decide what is effective andwhat is not.

But the most concrete sugges-tions for prevention are coming from thehomeopaths. They recommend taking dif-ferent homeopathic medicines to preventthis fast spreading viral disease. Some areadvising to use Arsenicum Album, otherssuggest Eupatorium Perfoliatum, and stillothers recommend Phosphorus in differ-ent potencies. They also mention manyother medicines that need not be consid-ered at this point. It is not advisable tocomment on any of these medicines un-less one knows the grounds on which thepromising homeopath are making theirsuggestions. It can only be said that ho-meopathy is a rule-based medical systemthat is fully capable of preventing any dis-ease or epidemics including the CoronaVirus if the picture of its symptoms ismade available. Those who oppose thissystem indiscreetly are doing more harmto themselves then to anybody else, forby doing so they are also deprived of itsscientific benefits.

There is one important thing toremember about homeopathy. This sys-tem does not cure the disease by elimi-nating it by name or its virus / bacteria, but it works according to the vital clues ofthe patient in the form of their symptoms. That is why laboratory tests are notneeded to detect bacteria or tangiblecauses of the disease in this system. Thesymptoms of the patient themselves pointto the indicated medication. Because itsfunction is different from that of the othersystems, it has the potential to treat thepatients differently. There is no surprisein this statement.

To understand the working of thehomeopathic remedies, it is important toknow that homeopathy can be used to

control epidemics in two ways. On oneside it is used as a prophylaxis or as apreventive remedy on the social planeand on the other for the treatment of thesick patients. When used for prevention, the drug is discovered by referring to thecommon ailments of the disease or theepidemic from the study of the real casesor from reliable sources dealing with that.Such a drug is called Genus Epidemicusand it is given to all persons living in theaffected areas. It acts like a vaccine of thedisease, meaning that it will stand up asa firewall against the pandemic in mostvulnerable. This is how cholera was pre-vented by homeopathy in the UnitedStates in the previous century. Earlier unthis century, Dr. V Krisnamurthy, an In-dian Homeopath from Tamil Nadu haddiscovered homeopathic remedies forChikungunya, SARS and Swine Flu, claim-

ing over 95% success in his patients. As long as the effect of the

Genus Epidemicus or the general remedyof the epidemic remains in the body, theactual disease causing similar symptomscannot enter it. It is an often verified lawof nature in that two similar diseases cannot exist a biological system at the sametime. So the general remedy provides ageneral protection to the at risk popula-tion in general. Homeopathy works ac-cording to this rule. Even if this firewalldoes not work for a particular individual, homeopathy offers him or her a definitetreatment based on the signs and symp-toms of his case. Though the same lawapplies to the treatment and cure of thesick in that scenario, it is a different topicrequiring detailed discussion. It is difficultto discuss it here. The patients can con-sult their homeopathic physician for that purpose.

So the key to finding a preventiveremedy for the Corona Virus is to knowits main symptoms. The main symptomsreported in the media are a mild to highfever, dry cough, rapid respiration, con-gestion and tightness of chest, pneumo-nia, etc. Headache has also beenreported in several cases in Iran. DoctorManish Bhatia, an Indian Homeopath ofJaipur, has attempted to find a commonremedy on the basis of these symptoms. In one of his research papers distributedby e-mail, he initially mentioned morethan one dozen remedies that could beconsidered as possible prophylaxes. Buthe discarded some of these drugs whichhave the symptoms of runny nose be-cause it is not found in the epidemic. Hedropped two more important medicinesconsidering that the Corona Virus pan-demic has a long incubation period of twoweeks. His final list of remedies contained

five medicines namely Bryonia Alba, Mer-curius Solubilis, Phosphorus, Lycopodium, and Kali Carbonicum. He believe that theCorona Virus grows in the cold climateand that it cannot resist heat for long. Healso argued that this epidemic has comeat a time of year when the nights are coldand the days are getting warm which, ac-cording to homeopathic literature, pro-vides an ideal time for the action ofBryonia Alba. With this syndrome in view,Dr. Bhatia comes to the conclusion thatthe Genus Epidemicus of Covid-19 isBryania Alba. He rules out all the otherremedies he earlier proposed. He even ig-nored Arsenicum Album suggested byAYUSH, the health ministry of India. Ac-cording to him, taking the Bryonia medi-cine in the 6th or 30th potency every canprotect oneself from the Corona Virus pandemic.

Although Bryonia Alba coversmany symptoms of Corona Virus and itmay be useful curing many sick casesneeding it, yet it can not be treated as aGenus Epidemicus of this disease. Thereare reasons for that. The first and themost important reason is that homeopa-thy relies heavily on mental symptoms tocombat the physical symptoms. One ofthe biggest causes of any pandemic, which includes this one as well, is that itcauses a sense of fear and uncertainty inthe affected population. Even before theactual sickness takes place, people areterrified of this infectious and deadly na-ture of the disease. Even when they arenot sick with it, they are afraid that itmight overwhelm and kill them. The re-cent case of Bhai Nirmal Singh Khalsa inAmritsar (India) proves it beyond anydoubt. In a leaked phone call to his kinwaiting outside the hospital, that becameviral on the social media, the terrified Bhaipredicted that he would not survive. Thewailing Bhai could be (definitely) savedwith the appropriate homeopathic rem-edy indicating “fear of Death” and “pre-diction of death”.

Apparently, Corona Virus has alsoengulfed a major chunk of the world pop-ulation in fear psychosis and this morbidfear of instant extermination which canbe seen from facial or verbal expressionof the people everywhere. Unless a curefor this fear is not included in the syn-drome of the malady, an accurate prophy-laxis of the pandemic cannot be found. There are are quite a few homeopathicmedicines which prominently stand out inthis symptom. Unfortunately, Dr. Bhatiadid not include this symptom in his studyso he strayed away in his research to dis-cover Bryonia Alba. It is a well-known factthat Bryonia Alba’s ailments are not ac-

companied by astrongly markedfear of death.

S u r v e y sshow that fearcomes first andbodily sicknesscomes at a laterstage later. Accord-ing to homeopathictheory, the key tothe control of thedisease lies in the mental symptoms be-cause the sickness influences the mindfirst. Combining these two facts, we cometo the conclusion that if the fear of mindis brought under control, illness will notmanifest in the body at all. Therefore thetrue Genus Epidemics of the Corona Virusmust have the potentials of controllingthe fear of this epidemic. The need, therefore, is to figure out a medicinewhich has outstanding signs of fear and anxiety.

Homeopathy has two main med-icines which cover fear of death alongsidethe reported symptoms of the Corona dis-ease. In addition to them there are twoBach Flower remedies which specificallyaddress to the fear of some sickness ordisease. These Batch flower medicinesare Aspen and Mimulus. Aspen has avague and undefined fear of the diseaseas it is not sure of the precise nature anddescription of the disease cause. It is verymuch like the prevailing apprehension inthe mind of the people of a deadly viruslurking in their vicinity threatening to fin-ish their existence. Just as in the remedy,it is there in the mind of the people whodo not know what it is, and where it isand how it attacks. Mimulus, the otherBach Flower remedy, is clear about thename and nature of the cause of fear. When a person says that he is afraid of“Corona Disease” he is a Mimulus patient. In addition to these two there is a thirdBatch Flower medicine Walnut, which em-powers the mind to deal with suddenchanges in environment and lifestyle.Even if an illness strikes, these remediesare capable of rejuvenating the body backto health by initializing its protective bio-chemistry.

So the first line of defense to pre-vent the Corona Virus is to have 2-4 dropsof these three Batches Flower medicinesin water every day till the epidemic existsin air. One of the intake methods may beto drink 2 drops of Aspen put in 30 gramsof water every morning. Similarly, 2 dropsof Mimulus may be taken in the afternoonand 2 drops of Walnut in the evening inthe same way. The other method of tak-ing these remedies may be to put twodrops of each of them into a small bottlefull of clean and filtered water, shake thesolution well and take it multiple timesduring the day. Let each member of thefamily makes his or her own bottle of thiswater remedy and take it at least threetimes a day. Experience shows that it willnot only save them from the prevailingepidemic but will also relieve them of theother complaints based on fear. All thethree medicines can be obtained from anyhomeopathic store. If not found any-where they can be procured from Amazon.

Babasheb Dr B R Ambedkar’s 129th JayantiNormally I would be delivering myspeech to celebrate Babasheb’s129th birth anniversary at theAmbedkar House London, or the IndiaHigh Commission London and theHouse of Lords. But these are verytrying times. Babasheb represents thespirit of optimism and better times.Who can deny that? What weneed now are positive messages. What we need now is to remem-ber how transformativeBabasheb Ambedkar was for ourforemothers, and forefathers andall generations since. I cannotthink of a better example of thepower of thought and action. Hismessage was educate, agitate, organize. That’s what weneed to do in these troubled timeon so many levels.

This year’s Dr Ambedkarbirth anniversary falls during avery difficult time in the globalfight against COVID-19. TheCoronavirus has confinedAmbedkarites around the worldto their homes. My heart really, really goes out to our brothersand sisters in India. But espe-cially to those dying of hunger orsitting with empty stomachs, worrying about their next meal, their safety and how they will man-age. Let’s use this time to reflect onthis anddo allwe canto help. Neverlose heart.

I was born in India. I grew upand live in London. I reflect ever moreonBabasaheb’s determination to havea more equaland just socio-economicsociety. When this virus has done itsworstand we’ve come through to theother side, one thing is clear: wemust call out those in power and de-mand justice whether it’s here in theUK or in India.

Deep in the Second WorldWar – a struggle against totalitarian-

ismand fascismBabasheb supported –British politicians looked to create amore equality society. They built astrong National Health Service, a wel-fare state and free education. InIndia, newly freed from the yoke ofcolonialism, Babasheb started workonvisionary laws to help workers,

women and all strata ofsociety.Babasheb’s Constitution en-shrined fundamental rights and affir-mative actions to achieve this for allIndians. We mustn’t let these rightsbe diluted or destroyed.

We know anything is possiblewhen we really try and work hard for it.

Oneday in September 2014 Iwalked into a dilapidated 10 KingHenry’s Road in London. Babasahebhad lived and worked under its roof inthe early 1920s. I had a crazyBabasaheb-inspired idea. Thanks toFABO UK’s intense lobbying,sup-

ported by Mr Ramesh Katkeji and MrGaikwadji in Mumbai who made sureour voice was heard, we securedfunding to enable the purchase of theproperty. This March,a Public Inquiryinto the museum status of 10 KingHenry’s Road declared in our favour. This historic victory will enable us to

finish setting up the first museumdedicated Babasheb Ambedkar out-side of India in somewhere where helived. The Ambedkar Museum Londonwill be the conduit for our campaignon internationalising the significanceof Dr Ambedkar and the rich legacyhe has left us.

More good news. After manyyears of lobbying and hard work JaiBirdi and his colleagues of the ChetnaAssociation of Canadascored anothersuccess. On 6 April 2020,the Mayorof the city of Burnaby in Canadapro-claimed 14 April “Dr B R AmbedkarDay of Equality”. These are historic

    a ch i evemen tsand both rein-force Babsaheb’simportance glob-ally, not just inIndia.

    The timeis past for the

    same old,s a m eo l d . L e t ’ sconcentrate,w h e r e v e rpossible, onpositivity. Let’s distance our-selvesfrom all that negativity andfake claims. Let’s spread theAmbedkarite message beyondtalking to the converted or our-selves. We owe it to future gen-erations.But today, my heart is heavy.

On Babasaheb’s birth anniver-sary Dr Anand Teltumbde, a rela-tive of Babasheb, and one of thegreatest minds of our generation,is being incarcerated. For yearshe has challenged atrocitiesagainst the Scheduled Castesand Tribes and stood up to fas-cism. His voice reaches hun-dreds of thousands of peoplearound the world. His expected-

imprisonmentby the Indian Govern-ment using trumped-up charges isbeing done to muzzle him and otherslike him. And us. They want to senda clear signal to those social rightsactivists about raising their voicesagainst atrocities. If you protest, thesame fate will befallyou. We need tosend a clear message back. We muststand with AnandTeltumbdeand otherchampions like him already languish-ing in jail with no prospect of a fairtrail. I am protesting now beforethere is no-one more who couldprotest when they come for us.

to Bach Flower therapy, homeopathy hasalso a number of medicines that addressfear or fear of death. Two of them arespecifically used in treating ailments withanxiety, anxiety, fever, bone pain, anxietyand pneumonia. These are AconiteNapelus and Arsenicum Album. Dr. Bhatiahas omitted both of these medicines, per-haps because he thinks that their incuba-tion period is shorter or longer than thatof Corona. May be, he knows that therage of these drugs is stronger than thefury of this pandemic but he believes thatthese might not be truly homeopathic tothe disease because they are drugs ofacute nature. Anyway, this is not a truehomeopathic point of view for in home-opathy the onset of disease is consideredfrom the moment the symptoms appearin the patient. Taken this way CoronaVirus is also an acute complaint becauseit overpowers the patient with its suddenonset. It can be presumed that when apatient feels its onslaught or he is testedpositive, he has already experienced atremendous amount of anxiety and fearof dying a miserable death from thenews, unless of course he has been tak-ing Aspen and Mimulus. Therefore, the

existence of fear of death preliminarilywarrants the consideration of both thesedrugs as competing prophylaxes of thereigning epidemic.

But the question is, which ofthese should be considered as the trueGenus Epidemicus of COVID-19?Whereas Aconite Naples is more appro-priate to the beginning of this illness, Ar-senic Album is suited to the end stage ofit when being weak and terrified, the pa-tient is on the verge of respiratory collapse.

Here is the answer. The peoplewho consider Arsenicum Album to be theGenus Epidemicus of Corona, add 15 daysof incubation period to its onset. But asmentioned above, this latent period is notimportant to homeopathy for it can offerno cure to the patients during those twoweeks due to lack of developed symp-toms. The advent of illness in homeopa-thy is considered to start from theappearance of symptoms. The aim of pro-phylaxis is the prevention of the diseaseand its fears.

Since Arsenic Album is less artic-ulate at the beginning stage, it may notwork as an appropriate firewall against

the disease cause of the epidemics. Thiscan be useful in the middle or towards theend of the sickness when the patient is issubstantially worked out.

On the contrary, Aconite Naplesis a stormy drug. Only a single dose ofthis drug can nail the problem in the headand crash it to the ground. It is used earlyin the beginning of the disease when thesymptoms just start appearing. Everyhomeopath uses it that way in cases ofcommon colds, allergies, flue, and com-plaints from hair-cut. Experience suggeststhat wherever it is given at the beginningof an acute problem, it successfully pre-vents it. Because the Corona Virus is alsoan acute epidemic and our initial objectiveis to prevent it and not to cure it, soAconite Naples is the true Genus Epidemi-cus of this pandemic.

It is thus clear that homeopathyhas a definite answer to the prevention ofCOVID-19. To recapitulate the plan ofremedies, the three Batch Flowers-Aspen, Mimulus and Walnut, need to betaken three times daily in watery doses.Along with that a dose of Aconite Napelus30 or 200 is to be taken globule formonce a week.

Aconote is also to be taken if anindividual becomes apprehensive of thedisease effect or feels the first sign of it.All these medicines are in perfect har-mony with each other, so they can betaken concurrently with ease.

But before doing so, one thing tokeep in mind is that the purpose of thisarticle is to educate and inform, not torecommend and prescribe medicines forthe treatment of any illness. It reportswhat is written in the homeopathic litera-ture. No body can predict the results inadvance even if they have been con-firmed in concrete cases before. There-fore, everyone is advised to consult amature homeopath regarding which oneof these or other homeopathic medicineswould be suitable in each individual case.Everyone should follow the directives ofthe government and the healthcare au-thorities along with the community guide-lines concerning cleanliness and isolation.Hope everyone emerges victorious fromthe Corona crisis.

(The author is a classical homeopath(SB-577) in California, United States. Hehas over fifty years' experience of home-opathic practice).
