the second floor of the Palais Todesco building.

We are delighted to present the DERMATOLOGIKUM WIEN.

Our practice for dermatology and plastic/cosmetic surgery

is located in the venerable Palais Todesco building in the

heart of Vienna, right opposite the Vienna State Opera.

As a branch of DER M ATOLOGIKUM HA MBURG , a Ger­

man centre of expertise in dermatology, allergology and

vascular surgery set up in 1997 with 35 consultants, a large

laboratory and authorisation to operate as a clinic, our

patients benefit from these close ties from both a clinical

and an organisational point of view. We treat our patients

with the necessary calmness and attention, em­ploying the

latest technologies and therapy options. Our range of

services covers the whole spectrum of general and

operative dermatology, plastic and reconstructive surgery

and cosmetic medicine.

Prof. Dr. med. Rainer Kunstfeld, Medical Director of DER­

MATOLOGIKUM WIEN, has many years of experience as

Chief Consultant at the University Clinic for Dermatology

(Vienna General Hospital) and has also worked as a dermato­

logist in his own private surgery. Prof. Kunstfeld is an inter­

national expert in skin cancer and has served as secretary for

two World Congresses on Melanoma, amongst other things.

Other positions in his career included two years at Harvard

Medical School in Boston and four years as General Secretary

of the Austrian Society of Dermatology and Venereology

(ÖGDV). Prof. Kunstfeld has been the editor of the medical

training journal “Spectrum Dermatologie” for the past ten

years and organises national training programmes. Prof.

Kunstfeld has been the recipient of numerous awards in re­

cognition of his groundbreaking work. Thanks to his exper­

tise, the early detection and follow­up of skin changes and

the treatment and aftercare of all kinds of melanoma are

particular areas of focus at the DERMATOLOGIKUM WIEN.

Dr. med. Birgit Karle heads the department for Plastic, Cos­metic and Reconstructive Surgery at DERMATOLOGI­

KUM WIEN. She has been a Consultant in the department

for Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the Medical Uni­

versity of Vienna and at her private practice since 2006. In

addition to her clinical activities in body contouring, Dr.

Karle expanded her knowledge in the field of cosmetic sur­

gery through numerous stints abroad. In addition to re­

constructive tumour surgery, her areas of focus are cosmetic

facial surgery, body contouring and breast surgery.
