The sudden announcement of the Prime Minister of India about the demonetisation of 500 and 1000 notes was a surgical strike on the black money holders as said by the government. Without getting into the debate of its pros and cons, the following article points out some very interesting facts we have come across with this certain demonetisation drive by our government.

Here are the facts everyone has realized in these few days:

#Change is sudden: A change does not occur with prior notice. It suddenly breaks through the door without even knocking. The demonetisation has also made us realise how a change can occur within few hours. Everything in this universe is changing now or then and many a change occurs all of a sudden. A person wearing a watch of thousand bucks can turn into a beggar within a moment. The notes which could bring anything to you (ofcourse except happiness) yesterday can bring nothing today.

“The secret of change is to focus all of your energy,

not on fighting the old, but on building the new”

But every change occurs to bring something new to our lives, to make us strong and better. As correctly pointed out by Socrates.

• #Value can be lost in a second: Everything in this world has a value. Again, frankly speaking, today the world

is filled with people who have a strong feeling that “money in your pocket can buy you anything in a packet”. Thus, people have lost their own values and money has gained all the values in their lives. But the sudden demonetisation of high currency notes made us realise that value can be lost within a second.

The notes which had such a high value yesterday are lying here and there as a piece of paper today.

So it’s the alarm for us to wake up and realise the real values in our lives. It’s time to recognise those things which can bring us happiness as money can never buy that.

--Aristotle

• #Fakes cannot last long: Anything which is fake will have to end one day or the other and that also

within a very short time. The demonetisation policy of the government was to stop the circulation of the counterfeit money which was also used for terror funding. It has pointed us a very interesting fact that fake things do not last long. So, we should always follow the path of truth and honesty. Something which is fake can gain notice or show positive result for some time but in the long run it will bring some devastating effects one day or the other. Fake always has the fear of being lost but real is always strong, transparent and free.

• #Small becomes big: In times of need, small becomes big. It is true to say these words as

demonetisation of the bigger 500 and 1000 notes by the government has increased the demand for the small denomination notes which have now become bigger in terms of basic needs of the people. It points out the fact that small things make a big difference though we always opt for bigger things only. It’s the small things which are really big in all aspects; we all know the small drops of rain make a mighty ocean; the tiny rain drops give us the pleasure of enjoying the beauty of ocean. So, besides aiming for big things, if we focus on small things as well it will bring a plenty of happiness in our lives.

“Little drops of water, little grains of sand,Make the mighty ocean and the pleasant land.So the little moments, humble though they be,

Make the mighty ages of Eternity. So the little errors lead the soul away

From the paths of virtue far in sin to stray.Little deeds of kindness, little words of love,Help to make earth happy, like the Heaven

above.”

• #Source matters: Everything in the world has a source from where it

begins and the source only decides its fate. The Government has said that the demonetisation policy was taken all of a sudden to curb the black money i.e. the unaccounted money of the rich. Now the people having this unaccounted money cannot change their old notes with the new ones as they could be scrutinized about their source of income. Thus, if their source of income was clean they would never have been in distress after the announcement of the PM. Thus we can say that source matters a lot. Every good source will bring you good in return but the opposite will take you to the worst.

• #Conclusion: Thus, what demonetisation is going to bring for our future economic growth is a matter it will decide itself within few months but among the sufferings it brought in the lives of the common people; it has made us halt in front of the mirror and pointed towards where we are standing. It has made us patient to stand and wait for something without buying VIP passes with money. It has made us aware of our own values which should be always above anything.
