THE ISSUE:

Contemporary art galleries are intimidating. There’s often a cold, empty aesthetic to them. And then there is the issue of the artwork... Are we meant to touch it? Like it? Understand it? Or are we looking at it the wrong way around?

As a result, the purchasing of art is on the decline!

By means of extensive research, it has become apparent that there is a large group of people in Sydney who enjoy art but feel to intimidated by art galleries to entre them. Art Galleries are feeling the consequences of this seeing that they are more often than not empty.

The purpose of the Evoke Sydney Art Gala is to get the audience involved and thinking about art concepts. The aim is for people to have fun with art and leave thinking that no idea is incorrect.

Evoke will allow people feel comfortable about discussing art as well making art more accessible to those interested in buying it, thereby increasing artwork sales and growing the art scene within Sydney and Australia.

As a client, Empty magazine and the events sponsors all stand to gain greatly from the event due to increased brand awareness, expanding their target audiences and thereby elevating their reputation.

All in all Evoke is a commercially viable concept that addresses the issue of suffering galleries caused by a daunted audience by democratising art.
