Mott MacDonald undertook major study on naturally vented classrooms:
Windows DO provide adequate ventilation to meet requirements under various legislation
50% of classrooms under ventilated because windows not used!
Perception issues identified
Solution: Old fashioned operable windows!
Example: Sheffield PFI 2 secondary and 2 primary schools
Once installed the team trained and guided staff and pupils on effective use
