MOUNTING SURFACESSmoothness and cleanliness of the mounting surfaces are important inachieving a strong bond. The pliable foam carrier adapts to minor surfacevariations thus allowing adhesive to form a strong bond.

Mounting surfaces must be clean and dry for proper adhesive performance.If you are not sure that the surface is clean and dry, it is advisable to performa cleaning procedure. Commonly encountered contaminants include dust,dirt, grease, oil, moisture, and others such as mold release agents andsilicone residue.For smooth surfaces of any type, extruded or molded clips arerecommended. For rough surfaces, a molded clip is advised since it has anextremely flat base which contributes to a better adhesive bond on unevensurfaces.

INSTALLATIONAdhesive is for use in interior environments only.1. Peel backing from clip or raceway and press firmly onto the mounting

surface. Use approximately 12 lbs. of pressure for one second to assure agood bond.

2. Leave newly mounted product undisturbed for at least five minutes prior toany loading.

3. Clips and raceway will hold up to 50% of Rated Static Load five minutesafter mounting. We highly recommend a 24 hour wait period beforeapplying full Rated Static Loads.

DEKDUCT RACEWAYTyco Electronincs' Dek Cable Accessories are available in Dekduct racewayswith both a two piece (base and cover) and one piece latching variety. Eachversion can be applied to power applications as well as for low voltage, class2 circuits. When used for power applications, the raceway needs to bemechanically mounted every 8 inches.

A center channel molded into each version of the Dekduct raceway providesthe means to connect additional lengths and fittings. The same channelallows for installation of a divider strip thereby enabling both power andcommunication cables to coexist in the 1 inch raceway.

A complete line of fittings is available for the Dekduct raceway to facilitaterouting cables and wires to meet the needs of each unique installation.EIA/TIA compliant fittings for Category 5 high speed data cables and fiberoptic cables are available to connect with our raceway. The minimum bendradius for the Dekduct raceway Category 5/fiber optic fittings is 11⁄2 inches,compared to the industry standard of a 1 inch bend radius.

When comparing capacities of the Dekduct raceway with that produced byother raceway manufacturers, please be aware that other companies mayidentify the size by using the maximum exterior base measurement. Racewaysize is identified by rounding off the minimum internal width of the raceway.It is possible, even likely, for the 1 inch Dekduct raceway to equal or toexceed the capacity of other manufacturer’s 11⁄2 inch raceway. Call customerservice for complete specifications.

Simplify wiring run installation in virtuallyany location. Many Deklip fasteners andDekduct raceway series use TycoElectronics' Dek advanced adhesivefastening system. This fastening systemuses ultra-high performance closed cellfoam with pressure sensitive adhesive onboth sides. The pliable foam carrierresists shock and vibration andcompensates for minor variations in themounting surface.

The adhesive holds aggressively onalmost any clean, commercial, productsurface. No mounting holes are needed,thus enhancing the cosmetic appearance of equipment. Bolts, nuts, and otherfastening hardware are not required.

Installation is quick and easy. Merely peel off the protective backing and pressclip firmly in place (12 lbs. of pressure for one second). Clips will hold wiring and cable up to 50% of Rated Static Load just one minute after mounting.For full Rated Static Loads, a 24 hour waiting period is highly recommended.

Mounting surfaces include: metal, glass, wood, plastic, and almost any clean, smooth, dry surface (free from corrosion, moisture, oil, dust, dirt,and other contaminants).

For tough surface mounting applications, Dek products have an adhesive forapplications such as sand finish dry wall, mild stucco, wood, and even cinderblock. Designed to fit harmoniously into any environment, this high performanceadhesive gets into surfaces instantly, saving you time and money.

For best results, parts should be mounted in temperatures ranging from 60° to 80°F.

Deklamp series 016 dual cable clamp is designed to fasten, hold, strain relieve,or guide cables with or without protective convoluted tubing.Made from super strong, automotive approved, glass reinforced nylon, theDeklamp cable clamp works well under severe conditions, under high loads,and in a multitude of environments. This clamp is UV stable and has excellentresistance to petrochemicals.

Deklamp series 016 dual cable clamps can be double stack mounted and usesstandard 5/16" nuts, washers, and bolts. The nut can be recessed for lowprofile mounting and can be wrenched from either side thus eliminating theneed for special mounting tools, sockets, or drivers.

Available in various sizes, these clips accept wire bundles up to 3⁄4".For installation in cramped quarters, compact Series 023 wire mounts are ideal.

Extruded from durable gray PVC, Series 025 shell clips are ideal for economicalwire and cable retention applications.

■ DEKLIP SERIES 026 BUNDLE CLIPDeklip series 026 bundle clip, designed in response to the needs of severallarge manufacturing firms, features tenacious clamping action which holds alltypes of cable and components firmly in place. If alterations are needed, fingerpressure releases the clamp for wire replacement or repair. When alterationsare complete, just lock the clip back into place.Series 026 is capable of handling very high load factors, bundle size changes,and just about any type of wire or cable. It is molded from UL Recognized 6/6nylon and will not creep or deform, even at elevated temperatures. Suitable forlong or short runs, it is quickly and economically installed.

Deklip push mount clips are used in a wide variety of environmental conditionsand on any surface up to 0.150" thick. Just snap into a 0.250" hole and thepush mount will hold 25 lbs. continuous load and 50 lbs. impact load. Eachseries holds a minimum of 3/16" diameter wire bundle and a maximum of a 1"bundle. The clip material, UL 6/6 nylon, is self-extinguishing and will not creepor deform at elevated temperatures.

Designed for use in high vibration areas, such as aircraft andconstruction equipment, these handy neoprene spacers assure that there isminimum wire movement within the clip. This prevents undesirable wear andthe potential for shorts. Round wire spacers fit most Deklip series 021, 029,and 030 push mount clip sizes.

These clips efficiently organize and retain ribbon, flat wire, and flat cable. Theyspeed installation, improve product appearance, and control wire runs in almostany location.

Installation is quick and easy thanks to the advanced adhesive mountingsystem. Simply peel backing and press the clip into place. Flat cable is easilyinserted (or removed). Once the wire is inserted, the serrated inner basereduces slippage.

Specifying Notes: 1. Rated Static Loads apply to parts fastened on a flat,clean, dry surface and used within a temperaturerange of -20°F to 150°F. Tyco Electronicsrecommends clips are application tested beforespecified for production runs.

Series 050 cable ties are adaptable to a wide range of environmental conditionsand accommodate panels and frames 0.090" to 0.150" and 0.320" to 0.370" thick. Made from UL nylon type 6/6, these ties can be used oncontaminated surfaces and hold a 25 lb. continuous load and a 50 lb. impact load.

■ DEKLIP SERIES 039 AND 040 FLAT FOAM SPACERThese unique copolymer spacers securely hold flat cable without damaging the wires. Even with our extensive line of clip styles and sizes, particular runsmay fail to fill the clip area. If so, Series 039 and 040 polyurethane-polyesterspacers are the answer.

Laminated to the spacer bottom is a Mylar high-tack, pressure-sensitiveadhesive strip. A silicone impregnated paper backing acts as the release liner. Use of these spacers is simple... just peel the paper backing from theindividual spacers and place the spacer into the proper clip. Flat wire can be installed immediately.

■ DEKTIGHT SERIES 058 LIQUID TIGHT SEALThe Dektight seal and clamp cable connection system not only assures a liquidtight seal, it provides outstanding strain relief without twisting or damaging thecable.

Manufactured from a glass filled polyamide material, the Dektight seals haveexceptional strength and excellent long term locking capabilities. Once locked,the threads will not creep, relax, or vibrate loose over time.

Dektight seals also have a buttress thread which allows for high torque withoutstripping the threads or cracking the dome. The tapered ring seal eliminatesthe need for a thread sealing ring.

Dektight seals and lock nuts, available in a wide range of sizes, handle cablediameters from 0.177" to 1.732".

Reinforced material is temperature rated at constant +212°F and brief+302°F. It withstands water pressure up to 70 psi. All sizes are UL Recognized,CSA and VDE approved.

Trumpeted Dektight seals are available to prevent sharp bending of cables.

Simply insert the cable into the Dektight seal, tighten the dome nut and cable isautomatically fixed, centered, and sealed, saving you both time and money.
