Belize mission VBSJune 21 - 29

Santa elena Baptist Primary School

Trinity and several other NC CBF churches have spent 8 years building this school which is in full use with 160+ children and 6 teachers. This final mission team in our partnership with Santa Elena Baptist Church will attend the first graduation ceremony of the school and do a 5-day (3-hours a day) VBS for the school children as a part of their last week of school. Rhonda Gubbins has agreed to serve as VBS Director and work hand in hand with the School Principal, Anna to make this the best week ever at the school.

It is time to pull a team together! We are looking for 18 people (college & adults) – VBS teachers, recreation leaders, craft leaders, and musicians who play and sing with guitar. The cost for the trip will be around $1475 +/- based on airfare when we purchase tickets. Partial assistance is available through the Shaw Missions Fund.

To find out more information or volunteer, contact Hal Melton at [email protected]. Don’t wait – this will fill up fast!

MuSiC CalendaRSpecial thanks to the Bells of Praise, Joyful Noise, Testament, and Harry McDonald and Joy Blashaw for all the musical celebration in our service this past Sunday! Trinity is filled with Christmas music provided by our church musicians throughout the holidays. I’m so grateful that God has blessed us with ministry-minded musicians who want to make our worship of God special and meaningful to all who enter to worship. Giving thanks for all of our preschoolers, children, students, and adults this Christmas!

Thank you to all the children and parents who have supported the Preschool and Children’s Choirs this season! The concert this past Sunday was a real blessing to experience by all who attended. Middle School and High School Students

Ski TripJanuary 19-21

Registration Deadline: January 7

I know it is tough to look past this Christmas season and all the excitement that comes with it. However, I wanted to remind everyone that on January 19-21st we will be having our Youth Ski Retreat! This retreat is open to both High School Students and Middle School Students and the cost is $240 per student*. The Registration Deadline is January 7th.

*Price is cheaper if tubing ($180) or if neither skiing, snowboarding, nor tubing ($150). We do have church members that contribute scholarships to allow students to participate in trips. Therefore, if there is need, please do not hesitate to ask about financial assistance for the ski trip.

Skiing/Snowboarding/Tubing:• We will spend the majority of the day on

Saturday, Jan 20th out on the slopes at Winterplace Ski Resort. Students have the opportunity to ski, snowboard, or tube. If they have never skied or snowboarded before free lessons will be offered.

• If students would like to participate in the trip, but do not want to ski, snowboard, or tube, we will have games and chaperones in the lodge the entire day.

Lodging:• We will stay in 3 Manor houses that are

side by side. The floors of each house will be divided by Grade and Gender. There will be NO Middle School Students sharing rooms with High School students and NO floors with different genders on the same floor.

Leadership:• In addition to our adult chaperones, we

will also have several College Students that will help lead our trip. They will lead our times of worship, small group Bible studies, supervision on the slopes, and some cooking as well!

Transportation: • We will meet at the church at 3:30pm on

Friday, January 19th to head up to West Virginia. If you are unable to meet at that time and would need to ride on the late bus, (will leave later that night) please let us know ASAP! We plan to return to TBC around 4pm on Sunday, January 21st.

While ski trips are packed with fun on the slopes, we also want to ensure that the weekend is a time of spiritual and relational growth for our students; one that they won’t want to miss! So, please do not hesitate to ask any questions in preparation. You can contact me via call/text: 910.612.6547 or email: [email protected]

Returns January 76:00pm • Underground

The life of a youth volunteer can be hectic! The weeks seem to fly by and there is rarely an opportunity to pause and reflect upon the ministry that you are building up. Refuel is designed to be a much needed moment to pause, reflect, hit the reset, ask questions, and reengage! The highlight of this event will be a Youth Ministry Panel led by experienced Youth Ministers and Volunteers from various churches in NC. All D-Team Leaders, Sunday School Teachers, and SMAC members should be on the look out for more information!

DECEMBER 1st For the next 24 days have each family member write down good deeds they do, like washing the dishes without being asked.

2nd Help make another family member’s bed in the morning.

3rd Instead of spending a lot of money buying tons of expensive gifts, try making gifts or setting a limit for each gift you buy.

4th Gather paper, crayons, and other art supplies and make homemade holiday cards to mail to family and friends. Make extra cards to pass out at a local nursing home.

5th Say one word of encouragement or praise to another family member.

6th Eat dinner together as a family and share how each of you are blessed.

7th Volunteer to read a story at your child’s school. Read the story together as a family first.

8th Bake cookies as a family. Remember to make extra to give away as gifts.

9th Let each family member take a different room in the house to clean up.

10th Buy inexpensive bottles of hand sanitizer and give them as gifts to your doctor, dentist or postal worker.

11th Help a neighbor carry in their groceries.

12th Decide as a family who you can invite over for dinner that may be alone this holiday.

13th Smile and say, “Merry Christmas” to everyone you see today.

14th Enjoy a Christmas program or service as a family.

15th Volunteer as a family at a local shelter to feed the homeless.

16th Hug someone today and tell them how much they mean to you.

17th Call the grandparents or relatives that you haven’t talked to in a while and wish them a happy holiday season.

18th Let someone go ahead of you in a grocery store line.

19th Donate a gently-used toy or article of clothing to a local charity.

20th Open the door for someone and let them enter first.

21st Invite others to church with you this Christmas.

22nd Sing carols as a family.

23rd Go with your family and view a nativity scene.

24th Gather as a family and read aloud from the Bible the birth of Jesus.

25th Spiritually reflect on what Christmas means to your family. Then, read aloud with family members each person’s list of good deeds they’ve done this month.

Doing for others without being asked is a gift itself that costs nothing but your time and energy. Let your light shine this holiday as you and your family perform good deeds for one another and others.
