DOI/Lesson Outline (Teacher Edition) Title- Declaration of Independence/ Note Taking/Sk ype Learning Outcomes: 1. Students will improve note taking skills by researching effective tips for note taking. 2. Students work in groups to create a class “how-to”/tips Wiki Page on note taking skills. 3. Students will effectively use note taking skills while Skyping with several outside experts on the American Revolution, specifically concentrating on the Declaration of Independence. 4. Students will collaborate with peers to create a Wiki Page and another group website concentrating on the Declaration of Independence. Standards: Common Core Georgia Performance Standard SS4H4 The student will explain the ca uses, events, and results of the American Revolution.  b. Lesson Layout

  Students will review the list.ly curation: reviewing articles and videos on improving notetaking skills, creating wiki pages, and website builders.

  Students will create a class Wiki Page on tips for note taking including reviews on apps

used for note taking.

  Students will create a list of questions and/or topics to ask while Skyping with outsideexperts.

  Students will implement note taking strategies when Skyping with outside experts on theAmerican Revolution, specifically the Declaration of Independence.

  Groups will create a website devoted to the Declaration of Independence. Components of the website will include who wrote it, how it was written, why it was necessary, and howit was a response to tyranny and the abuse of power.
