View this email in your browser December 2019 President’s Message “Tradition! Tradition!” The familiar Fiddler on the Roof refrain rings in my ears this time of year. Bring on the dancing and music! Many enjoy the familiar, safe reassurance of their own traditions. I recently shared a traditional American Thanksgiving meal with a group of Navy International Midshipmen. As we were enjoying food that was familiar to us, and secretly looking for the stuffing and pumpkin pie, we took turns explaining this tradition with the Mids. They, in turn, were asked to talk about traditional celebrations from their countries of origin. What was front and center? Sharing time with family and friends in community; it was always the priority. Our Annapolis Watercolor community is awesome. We come from many different backgrounds, but we all have a love of watercolor and sharing it with others. I know that I am not your "traditional" president. I will bring things to you that you may not be familiar with. It is always in an effort to support, encourage, and embrace our diverse community. Together we may start new traditions! Happy holidays, happy painting, and enjoy! Calendar December 7- Jan 31: Exhibit at Ginger Cove 11: Holiday Party *There will be no Member Salon before the party.
