I get that. It feels like yesterday that I woke up to 2016, and now we’re well into December. It is fair to say RGMotorsport is a mature company. Next year we celebrate a quarter-century in the business of making cars better by tuning and modifying them (as well as servicing and maintaining them) against a backdrop of intelligent research and development. Looking back, there have been huge societal, legislative, technological and other changes and as a business we’ve adapted to them all. We all know South Africa isn’t for sissies but it also remains one of the most inspiring countries in which to live. Sadly, it remains a country where driving is a risky business and as usual the focus in the media has shifted towards the annual road carnage as we rush off on holiday. Ironically, the daily death toll in December is only slightly higher than at any other time of the year, but that’s a separate discussion. But wherever you’re going, go safely. Have a wonderful festive season, and thank you all for your loyal support in 2016. See you next year! Rob Green

PLAYTIME! If there are two cars that have stoodout for us recently it’s the Toyota 86Supercharged and the Golf7 R – theformer was our 2015 workhorse andthe latter the car that kept us in thenews and on the podium rightthrough 2016.
For the Race Warz Time Attackchallenge on December 3 we tookthem both to Red Star Raceway for afinal blast! The format included a 200metre sprint and laps around the
tricky Delmas circuit. In the formerthey pitted us against no less than aFerrari 430 Scuderia – a proper ItalianStallion – which we managed to getthe better of in a first gear rollingstart. The emphasis was on havingfun though and Jacques “The Stiglet”did dozens of demos and good,old-fashioned joyrides in the 86Supercharged.
